I'm guessing he picks Space-Pepsi over Space-Coke.

No, he went for the Mr. Space-Pibb.
No wonder the Legion loses credibility.

Come on guys! We're talking fateful decisions here not drinks! Isn't it obvious? The decision is: Condo or Brainy!

No wonder the Legion loses credibility. I thought of this one until I realized Mr. Space-Pibb is more like Dr. Space Pepper and therefore wasn't similar to regular Space Colas.

Isn't it obvious? The decision is: Condo or Brainy! Why is that an either/or situation?

I've been thinking about this. The only thing I can come up with is the decision might have to do with Lyle's not wanting a costume and code name. He wasnt thrilled with his code name. He hasnt appeared in a costume yet. He appears to be in one on #4's cover. If that is him on cover #6 he looks to be in civillian clothes again. Barry mentioned it is a decision that isnt popular with some. Maybe Lyle agrees with the Legion's social movement but not the required costume stance. The description for the issue states not everyone is meant to be a super hero. Maybe Lyle wants to be a more behind the scenes member. I have no idea how this could cause the Legion to loose positive standing with followers though which probably blows this whole idea out of the water.

It's possible, though, that as a result of what happens, he drops - or is asked to drop - the costume and code name.

So what your saying is that he does, ... something.., that makes it impossible for the rest of the legion to be seen to keep him in the team. But they would then allow him to be one of the "followers" hanging around outside?
May be an interesting idea.

Not sure if I should....I get nervous posting spoilers. Some people get mad about spoilers and I would hate to ruin it for anyone.

Type SPOILER on you post and then leave plenty of empty space before posting the actual info. That way anyone that doesn't want to see it can avoid it. In addition you can ask one of the mods to add SPOILER to the thread title so people know there are spoilers in it.

***SPOILERS***SPOILERS****SPOILERS***** *SPOILERS of Issue #4 ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************ *************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Lyle hides the fact that his Dad is the head of the Northam SP division. Lyle is afraid that if they knew this the Legion would throw him out. Lyle's Dad hates the Legion. His joining puts the Legion under the SP's spotlight more than ever and leads to them trying a more aggressive action to shut the team down. To help the Legion (and to help make it up to them) Lyle decides to do something that is very smart and very sneaky. I really like this issue. The book just keeps getting better and better with each new issue. Lyle has always been my most favorite Legionnaire and I have to say that I really like this version of him. He is very smart, sneaky, a little shy, sarcastic and has a little bit of a mean streak. My favorite part of the issue is when Lyle says to his Dad, "It has the unique properties of Lyle Norg all in one vial." A very small touch on Mark Waid's part that brought a huge smile to my face.

That makes a lot of sense. Can't wait to see what he does. Thanks Hamz!
BTW, I'll ask on of the mods to add SPOILER to the title so people are warned before coming to the thread.

Thanks for the info, Hamz. Discussion of spoilery stuff follows.... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I don't know if I'd characterize that as 'costing the Legion every bit of good will they have'. Personally, I think Cos' decision to go against UP ideals in the Lallor incident would be more catastrophic. Mr. Norg's new personal interest in quashing the Legion is going to elevate the situation with the police to a fever pitch (and that's great! ) but it's not the end of the world. A lot of the kids may be coming from politically sensitive situations, but that can make them strategic assets too. If Lyle gets tossed for that, then I wonder about Cos' judgement. Though I wonder about it anyway. Looking forward to seeing what Lyle's brilliant plan is.
