IB stretched as he woke up. He'd just scattered his Security Officers all over the galaxy to help with various calamities. Soon they would probably need to call in the other LMBers - but most of them already were scattered. Braal wasn't the only world where trouble had been spotted.

Resources were being utilized as best they could, limited though they were.

He peeked at the note on his tabletop. A note he couldn't share with anyone, not even Blaze.

"Keep deploying LMBers. Good work."

There was a scent of jasmine and peach. HER scent.

Was helping these worlds also helping her?

But he had to. Or else.

Kinetix took a look at the duty rosters. She had never seen LMBers on so many worlds at the same time.

Well, almost never - it had almost been that bad when the LMB and its allies were cleaning up the Dark Oval forces on various UP worlds so they could brace themselves for the defense of Weber's World.

And a lot of the LMBers being deployed were to help clean up the mess.

Still, sometimes she wondered if it were wise to split them up so much. Surely some of these could wait?

Or maybe not. If a real emergency did happen, it would be a simple matter to recall some of them. With interstellar travel as it was, they could get back in little time at all.

And surely, Invisible Brainiac knew what he was doing.

Why must power be so elusive?

Legend has it that in the basement of the Security Office Building, Abin Quank commissioned a mural which accurately describes the first time the United Planets sent official delegates to meet Legion World's then Chief of Security, Cobalt Kid, to determine his worthiness for the job. Called "Security in Pajamas", the 3004 painting may or may not exist.

Oh, believe me, that painting is very real.

It's in the same room that Blaze and I use to interview promising applicants.

Invisible Brainiac pushed Blaze against the wall. "It's been too long, baby..."

"Because you've been working too hard," Blaze smiled as he caressed the back of IB's head. "Now, you need to relax and enjoy."

"Mmmm. I'm with you, alone, and we're not wearing anything. How could I not?"

The two held each other close as they enjoyed their kiss.

I remember that day, The Emerald Empress and I were in the other room laughing our asses off at the sound of sputtering bureaucrats and you offering them silver-ales.

Those were good times...

I DO remember that the twin Ambassadors from Winath were quite impressed by Cobie's physique.

Come to think of it, they were absent at the next meeting...
