This year for our 10th Anniversary, we'll (hopefully) be producing an all-new, fan-generated Legion Encyclopedia (the details on how will be worked out later). The articles and format will be similar to the one used for the DC Comics Encyclopedia from a few years back. Please use this thread to post an article for your favorite Legionnaire. The format should be as follows - NAMEFIRST APPEARANCE SERIES NAME (vol. #) ## (Month YYYY) STATUS Hero, Villain, Undecided, Ally (deceased) REAL NAME Alter Ego GROUP AFFILIATION Legion of Super-Heroes, None, etc. HOME PLANET Earth, Winath, etc. HEIGHT #ft. #in WEIGHT ### lbs EYES Color HAIR Color SPECIAL POWERS/ABILITIES Description Brief Bio to present day, if possible, and all of it MUST be cannon...no fan-fic or speculations please. Your Initials

Wonderful initiative!!
KINETIX FIRST APPEARANCE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES (vol. 4) 66 (March 1995) STATUS Hero (apparently deceased) REAL NAME Zoe Saugin GROUP AFFILIATION Legion of Super-Heroes HOME PLANET Aleph HEIGHT 5ft. 4in. WEIGHT 118 lbs (original), 126 lbs (Terrorform) EYES Green HAIR Auburn SPECIAL POWERS/ABILITIES Hypertaxis-powered meta-human which grants her the ability to adapt/evolve powers for specific situations. Abilities which she exhibited included healing powers, enhanced strength and durability, flight, unaided survival in space, energy blasts and gravity control. Was also said to retain unspecified magical abilities as a result of absorbing her home universe's magical energy. Formerly had highly-advanced telekinesis that allowed her to animate and reshape objects, levitate objects, fly, create forcefields, and generate light.
Growing up, Zoe Saugin constantly felt bored and useless as she accompanied her mother from world to world on various archeological digs. However, this changed when she successfully used a magical artifact to save her mother's life. Zoe couldn't wait to find more power. Three years later, she found an energy pool that activated her telekinetic abilities.
Although this led to membership in Legion of Super-heroes, she would continue to seek power - until she found the Star of Akkos, which drained her powers!
A now powerless Kinetix tried to restore her powers, only to be saved from certain death by the old witch Mysa. Mysa restored Kinetix's powers in exchange for a seemingly simple task - Kinetix was to locate the powerful Emerald Eye. Kinetix foolishly failed to heed Mysa's warnings about the Eye though, for she found it possessing her best friend Shrinking Violet!
A furious Mysa tried to punish Kinetix for her failure. Luckily, Azra was there to set things straight. When Azra had been pregnant with Zoe, she had saved Mysa's life with another magical artifact. Mysa had engineered Kinetix's power loss in order to manipulate her into searching for the Eye. Mysa agreed to restore Zoe's full powers and to leave her alone. A restored Kinetix then helped the Legion free Violet from the Eye.
Kinetix continued to serve the Legion, with her lust for power satiated but her desire to help others still strong. After half the team was lost in a spacial rift and the Legion was disbanded, Kinetix joined the Science Police.
Kinetix was still a Science Police Officer when the Legion returned and tried to expose "President McCauley". McCauley was secretly Ra's Al Ghul, who tried to crash the Moon into Earth in order to force humanity to evolve. Kinetix's magical background and Alephian genetics caused her to transform into a special Terrorform, or a being designed to safeguard the human race as it underwent evolution. Despite this, Kinetix retained her free will and helped stop Ra's al Ghul, upon which point she rejoined the Legion.
When Kinetix's Legion was summoned by the Earth-1 (?) Legion to battle against Superboy-Prime's Legion of Super-Villains, Kinetix attacked Superboy-Prime directly. Unfortunately, the villain was immune to her magic and trained his heat-vision on her, apparently killing her. Mordru absorbed her remaining magical energy. Kinetix would be avenged though, as her teammates and the other Legions would stop the villains.

I'll do Shadow Lass & Shadow Kid this weekend, unless someone else is working on them.
Could people post what characters they're taking in order to avoid duplicate efforts? Also, is there a particular priority - should we deal with all the Legionnaires first, then get on to other characters?

Shadow Lass
First Appearance: Adventure #365 (vol. 1) (February 1968) Status: Hero Real Name: Tasmia Mallor Group Affiliation: Legion of Super-Heroes Home Planet: Talok VIII Height: 5' 8" Weight: 120 lbs Eyes: Black Hair: Black Special Power/Abilities: Shadow Lass can project and manipulate dark fields through which no light can enter; her dark fields also partially block sound waves. She can see in the dark. She is also skilled in hand-to-hand combat. Although very bright light weakens her, she can shield herself with her cape to regain her strength.
When Tasmia Mallor was a young girl, she and her younger cousin Grev adventured into a cave sacred to their ancestors. The two Mallors were engulfed by a gas which triggered their hereditary shadow powers.
Tasmia was appointed Planetary Champion, to guard Talok VIII. At one point when she was off-world, the Fatal Five took control of the planet. Assisted by several Legionnaires, the Five were defeated; when they fled to Earth, Tasmia went with the Legionnaires to help fight the Five there. After the battle, she decided to remain with the Legion.
When Mon-el was severely injured in an encounter with The Time Trapper, Shadow Lass took him to various medical facilities, without success. She married him in a Talokian ceremony, which involved cutting off one of her fingers, and he died shortly after. Shadow Lass left the Legion and retired to a Talokian nunnery. Her withdrawal forced the rulers of Talok VIII to remove her as Planetary Champion and give the title to her cousin Grev.
However, due to changes in the time stream, her husband Lar Gand returned to life, not as Mon-el, but as Valor. They were reunited and explored the galaxy together. They worked with a re-formed Legion until Zero Hour caused them both to vanish from reality.

Tasmia Mallor was the latest in a long line of Shadow Champions of Talok VIII. She was raised by priests, trained in combat and studied under the Shadow Maven to learn to use her light-absorbing energies. She became Shadow Champion following the death of her mother.
Tasmia honored the ancient traditions of Talok VIII and believed that the planet should neither join the United Planets nor adopt their ways. When the planet's rulers did decide to join the U.P., Tasmia was extremely angry. She was ordered to leave Talok VIII and explore the galaxy to open her mind. Tasmia met the Legion of Super-Heroes and was accepted as a member, calling herself Umbra. She tended to be arrogant and difficult to get along with, but was a highly capable member of the team. Tasmia continued to be Shadow Champion of Talok VIII as well.
She was one of the 10 Legionnaires who were believed to have perished in a space rift. However, they were transported to another dimension and, a year later, made their way home. She remained with The Legion until the team was thrown into limbo as a result of Infinite Crisis.

It is not known at what point Tasmia Mallor, Shadow Champion of Talok VIII, left home to join the Legion as Shadow Lass. In addition to the power to cast shadows, she is highly skilled in hand-to-hand combat. She returned to Talok VIII, to reconfirm her position as Shadow Champion, in a combat challenge with her brother Grev, and remained an active member of the Legion as well.

She developed a serious relationship with Legionnaire Mon-el, which lasted several years. She broke up with Mon-el, after he emerged from his last episode in the Phantom Zone, and established a relationship with former enemy turned Legionnaire, Earth Man. Although she has been in deep mourning since his death, she remains an active Legionnaire.
She ceded the position of Planetary Champion to her cousin, Grev, after he graduated from The Legion Academy.

Wildfire
First Appearance: Superboy (vol. 1) #195 (June 1973) Status: Hero Real Name: Drake Burroughs Group Affiliation: Legion of Super-Heroes Home Planet: Earth Height: 6'1" Weight: variable Eyes: none Hair: none Special abilities and powers: Emits controlled energy, from finely focused beams to massive blasts of power. His containment suit provides artificial sight and hearing at a level to match Superman's. Flies under own power. (He can also expand or contract his energy to grow or shrink and has demonstrated control over chemical reactions, although he has not used these powers since demonstrating them at his Legion try-out.)
Drake Burroughs was an astro-engineer working on propulsion systems when he was hit by a blast of anti-matter. Instead of killing him, this turned him into an energy being, and he was put in a containment suit to prevent becoming dispersed.
Taking the name of ERG-1 (ERG standing for Energy Release Generator), he applied for Legion membership. He was rejected, because the powers he demonstrated (growth, shrinking, super sight and hearing, flight, entering bodies to control minds) were not unique. He followed some Legionnaires on a mission to Manna-V, an agricultural planet, and saved the life of Colossal Boy by releasing all his energy from his containment suit.
His energy body dispersed and he was thought to have died. He slowly made his way back to Legion headquarters and, with the help of the Miracle Machine, acquired another containment suit and saved the Legion from an attack by the android Molecule Master. This earned him Legion membership.
Wildfire served one term as Legion leader. He was a competent but contentious leader. He also taught at The Legion Academy and chaired the membership committee.
He discovered the Starhavenite tracker Dawnstar, encouraged her to apply for Legion membership and fell in love with her. Although she loves Wildfire in return, they are unable to have a physical relationship
Wildfire is at present stranded in the 21st century. He and six other Legionnaires were on a mission to capture Alastor, a 31st century terrorist who escaped to the past, when their time bubble was destroyed. The Legion believes the team to be dead and has given up searching for them.

Chemical Kid
First Appearance: Legion of Super-Heroes #6 (volume 6) December 2010 Status: Hero Real Name: Hadru Jimak Group Affiliation: Legion of Super-Heroes Home Planet: Phlon Height: 5'8" Weight: 155 lbs Eyes: Blue Hair: Black Special abilities and powers: Catalyzes chemical reactions. Chemical Kid can speed up or slow down chemical reactions in both objects and beings.
Hadru Jamik's father, a wealthy businessman, wanted his son to be a hero. He got a professor to graft a virus containing the genetic mutation that gave Condo Arlik (the original Chemical King, now deceased) the power to catalyze chemical reactions. Although his father was heavily fined by an ethics board, Hadru retained his newly acquired powers and gained admission to The Legion Academy, taking the name Chemical Kid.
He was regarded as impetuous, hot-headed and spoiled, but he was an able student. He and his fellow students proved themselves when they rushed to Legion Headquarters to rescue their teachers who had fallen in a fight with the villain Cosmic King. Since The Legion was seriously undermanned, due to seven members being lost and presumed dead, Hadru was made a Legionnaire, along with other members of his Academy class.
He has moderated his impulsiveness and temper since joining The Legion and works closely with Element Lad to further hone his skills.

Nice going, FC. I think you've managed to condense the long histories of these characters quite well.
Just a very minor note, didn't Wildife also demonstrate phasing abilities in his 1st appearance?
Also a question - how do we handle Legionnaires with multiple versions? Separate articles for Preboot, Postboot, Threeboot and "Retroboot" versions?
Will do Gates, Kid Quantum II, Monstress and XS in the next couple weeks, and Postboot Brainiac 5 if we're splitting versions.
If anyone wants to do one of the above let me know, I don't mind sharing! Also, any comments on the Kinetix bio welcome - I'll see if I can trim it down!

Although I think Gates and XS would get one article, due to their unique status as "imports" so to speak?

GATES FIRST APPEARANCE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES (vol. 4) 66 (March 1995) STATUS Hero REAL NAME Ti'julk Mr'asz (closest Interlac approximation) GROUP AFFILIATION Legion of Super-Heroes HOME PLANET Vyrga HEIGHT 3ft. 7in. (full length 6ft. 2in.) WEIGHT 210 lbs EYES Fluorescent Green HAIR None SPECIAL POWERS/ABILITIES Teleportation via energy disks. Has been shown teleporting himself and up to 6 others, and across interplanetary distances. The disks have sharp edges which can be used to sever objects.
Gates was originally from the Earth-247 universe.
Vyrga's inhabitants are insectoid beings with latent teleportation abilities who all shared the same opinions. Gates' uniqueness gave his people both great pride through his teleportation powers, and great irritation through his political views and outspoken personality.
It was Gates' turn to get irritated when Vyrga drafted him to represent them in the new Legion of Super-Heroes. Gates evaded the Legionnaires when they came to pick him up, only to be sent to Earth anyway as his people wanted him to "fulfill his duty to the greater all." Gates would try to return home after the Legion draft was abolished, to no avail.
A reluctant Gates would annoy his teammates with his stubborn personality, not hesitating to critique commands and the "teenage death squad" he had been forced to join. However, when he and some others were stranded in the 20st century and his teammates mounted a rescue mission, Gates became inspired by their camaraderie and began to change his views. Gates began making friends on the team, and would develop a close friendship with Brainiac 5 after the exploring a Space Anomaly.
While the Legion was trying to stop a rift in space, they were forced to abandon their Outpost. Gates, exhausting himself from teleporting people clear, "misjumped" and was picked up by a Science Police cruiser. as Gates was missing and presumed dead, the immortal villain Ra's al Ghul experimented on him and discovered the genes that activated the Vyrgans' teleportation skills. Ra's al Ghul would kill many Vyrgans while genetically altering latent teleporters to create clones, all the while covering up his actions with stories of a pandemic.
Gates was rescued by his teammates after about a year in captivity. He joined them in fighting Ra's al Ghul, and saved Kid Quantum II from being killed while the villain - severing Ra's arm by accident.
Gates was with his teammates when they were trapped in the timestream. They would then be summoned by the Earth-1 (?) Legion to aid against Superboy-Prime and the Legion of Super-Villains. After winning the battle, Gates would choose to remain with the Earth-1 team to keep his teammate XS company.
Gates was part of a team sent to capture Alastor, a 31st century terrorist who escaped to the past. They were trapped there when their time bubble was destroyed.

So, here is kind of what I was thinking:
PHANTOM GIRL
FIRST APPEARANCE ACTION COMICS (vol. 1) 276 (May 1961) STATUS Hero REAL NAME Tinya Wazzo GROUP AFFILIATION Legion of Super-Heroes HOME PLANET Bgztl HEIGHT 5ft. 6in WEIGHT 103 lbs EYES Blue HAIR Black SPECIAL POWERS/ABILITIES Ability to become an immaterial phantom, allowing her to pass through material objects.
Tinya Wazzo was born on the planet Bgztl, in the fourth dimension, and shared the native ability of inhabitants of her world to become immaterial phantom by shifting their mass into the “buffer zone” between Bgztl and Earth, though her skills were more developed than most, allowing her to cross the inter-dimensional space between Earth and Bgtzl by her own power. An adventurous youth, she travelled to Earth, where she inadvertently stumbled upon an operation of the Cosmic Spy League, which she foiled. Hearing of the newly formed Legion of Super-Heroes, she quickly won admission to the group after infiltrating their headquarters and then promising to make it proof against future “phantom” invasions.
She served a long and distinguished career as a Legionnaire, and was a key member of the Legion Espionage Squad. She began a relationship with fellow Legionnaire Ultra Boy after she was the only one who believed in him at a time when he seemed to be collaborating with the villainous Mystery Raiders. Eventually, the two became engaged, and shortly after a craft that was supposed to take her to Bgztl mysteriously exploded, and seemingly sent her back in time to the twentieth century, where, suffering from amnesia, she became a member of the Licensed Extra-Governmental Interstellar Operatives Network (L.E.G.I.O.N.) under the name of Phase. Shortly before the Zero Hour event struck the thirtieth century, however, it was revealed that Phase was, in fact, Tinya’s cousin Enya, and the real Tinya was brought forward in time to be reunited with Ultra Boy and her SW6 counterpart as the older and younger Legions merged together in order to fix the damage to the timeline.

APPARITION
FIRST APPEARANCE LEGIONNAIRES (vol. 1) 0 (October 1994) STATUS Hero REAL NAME Tinya Wazzo GROUP AFFILIATION Legion of Super-Heroes HOME PLANET Bgtzl HEIGHT #5 #6 WEIGHT 120 lbs EYES Blue HAIR Black SPECIAL POWERS/ABILITIES Ability to shift to an immaterial state, allowing her to become an immaterial phantom.
The daughter of the United Planets Ambassador from Bgztl, Tinya Wazzo inherited the ability to turn herself immaterial from her mother. Unbeknownst to Tinya, however, her father was a Carggite, and thus she also possessed the native Cargitte ability to split into three bodies. While still an infant, her father traded two of her three bodies to Luck Lords in order to pay a gambling debt. So, while one body grew up as the daughter of a prominent U.P. politician, the others lived as servants of the Luck Lords. The fate of one of these bodies is unknown, but the other eventually found herself transported through time, where she joined the Licensed Extra-Governmental Interstellar Operatives Network (L.E.G.I.O.N.) under the name of Phase.
Meanwhile, the version of Tinya that was raised by her mother grew up rebellious and adventurous, and, after aiding the newly formed Legion of Super-Heroes in foiling a White Triangle plot to blow up the U.P. Headquarters on Earth, she was invited to join the Legion under the codename Apparition. This created tensions with her mother, which were only exacerbated when she began a relationship with a kid from the “wrong side of the tracks”, namely Ultra Boy of the Workforce. Despite being on opposing teams, her relationship with Ultra Boy progressed, and they worked together during the invasion of Earth by White Triangle Daxamites. Tragedy struck, however, when Tinya was apparently killed by a Daxamites heat vision, though it soon became apparent that she continued to exist in a ghostly state, and was thrown back in time to the twentieth century with him and a number of other Legionnaires during a battle with the Emerald Eye. While in the twentieth century, she and Ultra Boy were married, and she met her other body, Phase, with whom she merged, thus regaining full corporeal existence.
Later, after Ultra Boy and a number of other Legionnaires were lost in a space rift and the Legion disbanded, Tinya found herself pregnant and so fled to her husband’s homeworld of Rimbor, where she met Timber Wolf, who became her protector. Hearing of the return of the lost Legionnaires, she made her way back to Earth on a slow-moving ship, and while on board gave birth to a son named “Cub”. She was eventually reunited with her husband in the reformed Legion, though tensions had developed in their marriage due to events that occurred during their separation.

PHANTOM GIRL
FIRST APPEARANCE TEEN TITANS/LEGION SPECIAL (vol. 1) 1 (November 2004) STATUS Hero REAL NAME Tinya Wazzo GROUP AFFILIATION Legion of Super-Heroes HOME PLANET Bgztl HEIGHT 5ft. 6in WEIGHT 120 lbs EYES Blue HAIR Black SPECIAL POWERS/ABILITIES Ability to become an immaterial phantom by sharing her mass between different dimensional planes.
A native of the planet Bgtzl, which exists in the same location as Earth but is out of phase with it, Tinya possesses the unique ability, not shared by her fellow Bgztlrs, to shift between these two worlds, appearing simultaneously in both of them. The more she shifts into one plane, the less substantial she will be in the other, allowing her to pass through solid objects in that world. While not much is known about her history, she was an early recruit to the Legion of Super-Heroes, an organization dedicated to rebelling against the stale, passionless society of the 31st century and bringing back the super-heroic traditions of legend. She dated a boy named Jarel from her home dimension, but eventually broke off their relationship.
Tinya is particularly a fan of ancient comic books, which are believed by the Legion to be actual historical records of events from the era of super-heroes. She attempted to help fellow Legionnaire Princess Projectra cope with the death of her parents and the destruction of her homeworld by reading her comics, though her kindness was repayed by her being savagely beaten by Projectra after she began to suspect her of betraying the Legion. She is saved by the intervention of Timber Wolf, and is gradually healing from her injuries, though she has been mindwiped by Projectra to forget what happened.

PHANTOM GIRL
FIRST APPEARANCE ?? STATUS Hero REAL NAME Tinya Wazzo GROUP AFFILIATION Legion of Super-Heroes HOME PLANET Bgztl HEIGHT 5ft. 6in WEIGHT 103 lbs EYES Blue HAIR Black SPECIAL POWERS/ABILITIES Ability to become an immaterial phantom, allowing her to pass through material objects.
Tinya Wazzo was born on Bgztl, in a dimension asynchronous with Earth. She possessed a rare genetic trait that would allow her to leave Bgztl and travel to our dimension, and so, when her people felt the need to warn the United Planets that a strange invasion force that had been attacking their colonies would soon be threatening U.P. space, she was sent through a wormhole to warn them and share data with them. While in our dimension she soon encountered Brainiac Five and then the Legion of Super-Heroes, which she promptly joined, becoming one of their earliest recruits. Though repelling the alien invasion meant destroying the wormhole which was her only means of going home, she willingly chose to stay with her new friends in the Legion.
She has served a long and distinguished career as one of the core Legionnaires, and has long been in a relationship with her fellow Legionnaire Ultra Boy. After the Legion was outlawed on Earth due to the influence of Earth-Man and his Justice League of Earth, Tinya was captured and held prisoner alongside a number of her fellow Legionnaires, before they were eventually freed with the aid of Superman. She has since served once again in the reunited Legion, and has resumed her place as a core member of the Legion Espionage Squad. Despite her preference for keeping a low profile as a member, she was recently elected Legion leader, just in time to handle one of the Legion’s greatest crises, an attack by the reformed Fatal Five.

That looks great, Eryk! I'll modify mine following your model.
For the latest version of Tinya, what would her first appearance be? The recent Secret Files, or her original first version?

I'm not sure what to do with first appearances of the current versions. I was kind of inclined to go with the first "retroboot" appearance (which, for Tinya, I believe was in one of the "Superman and the Legion" books), but one could also go with the first "DCnu" appearance (which I guess would be Legion: Secret Origin #1 for Tinya, even though it technically proceeds the new 52 by a month).

I was thinking further on this; maybe a First Appearance - Legion timeline and a First Appearance - comic book volume, although the distinction between volumes 6 and 7 (retroboot and DCnU) is rather muddy in my mind. The continuity hasn't changed much and the story continues seamlessly.
On another subject, I modified the Chemical Kid entry to add an estimate of weight and height, based on his size relative to Element Lad, and changed his eyes to blue, as listed in the DC Wiki.

MONSTRESS FIRST APPEARANCE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES 82 (vol. 4) (July 1996) STATUS Hero (deceased) REAL NAME Candi "Princess" Pyponte-Le Parc III GROUP AFFILIATION Legion of Super-Heroes HOME PLANET Xanthu HEIGHT 6ft. 4in. WEIGHT 265 lbs EYES Pale Orange (previously amber) HAIR Orange (previously dark purple, then dark green) SPECIAL POWERS/ABILITIES Greatly enhanced strength and invulnerability, which increase during adrenaline rushes. She stated that she is able to absorb and store radiation to fuel herself.
Candi was born into a rich family on Xanthu. On a tour of her family's factories, she and her father were approached by a protesting poverty-line worker. Her father knocked him down. As a shocked Candi ran to check on the man, his homemade gene-bomb went off, transforming her into a large green humanoid. Ostracized by both her father and the working class, Candi joined Xanthu's hero team, the Uncanny Amazers, as Monstress.
Monstress would join the Legion in battling the rogue sorcerer Mordru. Impressed by their competence, she asked to join and was easily accepted despite Xanthu's reluctance to lose her. She was popular among her teammates and the Legion's staff for her caring, sweet and thoughtful personality. She wasn't a pushover though, as shown when she confronted Element Lad when he turned her skin to orange, but was mollified when he remarked that she looked pretty.
Monstress was part of a team stranded near Affiliated Planets space after rescuing a megafreighter crew. The Stargate Network had been shut down by the invading Blight, and it would take a month for the team to return to Earth. They managed to defeat the Blight and free Earth and the rest of the United Planets.
During the Great Rift Disaster, Monstress was trapped in the Outpost while ensuring the escapes of several of her teammates. The rift brought them to the Second Galaxy, where they encountered the Progeny. Monstress was enraged at their genocide of those they deemed "variant" or inferior. She argued vehemently that she and Shikari be allowed to free the Progeny's captives, only to find that the Progeny had killed them to stop their escape.
She was overjoyed when the team was reunited with Element Lad, only to be disturbed when finding out that he had become the powerful and insane Progenitor. She pleaded with him not to destroy the Second Galaxy. When she told him that she had not been created by him, he vaporized her with a touch.
Her teammates memorialized her upon their return to UP space.

Glorith
First Appearance: Adventure #523 (vol. 6) (April 2011) Status: Hero Real Name: Glorith Group Affiliation: Legion of Super-Heroes Home Planet: Unknown Height: 5' 4" Weight: 110 lbs Eyes: Luminous Hair: Brown Special Abilities andPowers: Manipulates magical energies, can project a protective shield
Glorith's origin is unknown. She claims she was taken as a baby to The Sorcerers' World to serve the light and trained in magic. She grew up there and became a student of Mysa, The Black Witch. When she was old enough, Mysa sent her off to the Legion Academy to further her practical learning. Glorith joined the Legion, along with the other Academy students of her class, following the presumed death of seven Legionnaires.
Although she is meek and often feels ill at ease away from The Sorcerers' World, when wielding her magic, Glorith is a determined and formidable Legionnaire.
Her powers are not fully understood, even by herself. She can develop a protective shield which, according to Brainiac 5's hypothesis, displaces energy through time.

Harmonia Li
First Appearance: Legion of Super-Heroes #1 (vol. 6) (July 2010) Status: Hero Real Name: Harmonia Li Group Affiliation: Legion of Super-Heroes Home Planet: Earth Height: 5' 8" Weight: 135 lbs Eyes: Black Hair: Black Special Abilities and Powers: Natural Elemental: manipulates earth, air, fire and water. Ageless (although capable of being harmed or killed). Can sense some malignant energies.
Harmonia Li was born in China centuries ago. She was taken from Earth to Utopia, the Planet of the Wise, to become an ageless being and accumulate knowledge. At some point, she tired of contemplation and returned to Earth. She was a Professor of Temporal Mechanics at Metropolis University and teacher to a young Circadia Senius, who would later be head of The Time Institute. Harmonia herself joined the Time Institute.
The Time Institute and Harmonia moved to Titan when Earth's xenophobic trend worsened. One day, she attempted to dissuade two colleagues from viewing the moment of creation of the universe, due to the possible danger. They proceeded regardless and great energies were released, resulting in the total destruction of Titan. Harmonia was among the refugees saved by Legionnaires and taken to other planets for resettlement.
On Naltor, she was warmly welcomed by The High Seer. Brainiac 5 sought her out for explanations of what happened on Titan and why there was no data record on her; she described herself as a student of Rond Vidar, as well as an old friend of R.J. Brande. She worked with the Legion to help fight Saturn Queen, who was seeking Utopia as a means to gain immortality.
She was chosen for but rejected the Green Lantern ring, declaring that she wanted nothing to do with Oa.
When Saturn Queen was defeated, Harmonia Li decided to remain with the Legion. In addition to her elemental powers, she works with Brainiac 5 in his lab on various projects.

Dragonwing claims that she "stole fire from the Imperial Dragon's horde" to acquire her powers, but no further detail is known about what this entailed. She was a student at the Legion Academy. She has rejected the gang life that her sister Bao has embraced and is proud to be a Legionnaire, working at improving her combat skills.

What do you think we should do about characters who were Legionnaires in only some versions of the Legion, like Sun Boy or Nightwind or Invisible Kid II or Spider-Girl?
I suppose we could still have entries for all their versions, just like what we did for Phantom Girl.

Might as well do all versions and if a character was missing, either a comment like "Not in this version of the Legion" or just a blank.

Blok
First Appearance: SLSH #253 (vol.1) July 1979 Status: Hero Real Name: Blok Group Affiliation: Legion of Super-Heroes Home Planet: Dryad (destroyed) Height: 7' 2" Weight: 975 lbs Eyes: White Hair: None Special Abilities & Powers: Super-strength, invulnerability, can absorb or reflect some energies
Blok is a silicon-based being from the planet Dryad and the last of his race. Both the original silicon lifeforms and human settlers inhabited Dryad at one time. When Dryad's core became unstable and threatened to explode, the Legion tried to help evacuate the residents. Blok and five humans were saved by The Dark Man, who convinced Blok that the Legion had caused the destruction. Blok joined the League of Super-Assassins, led by The Dark Man, to get revenge.
When he realized he had been duped, Blok helped the Legion defeat the Assassins. He later tried out for and achieved Legion membership.
Blok himself did not know his age, and his form went through various changes, which were believed to be his natural development.
Despite his appearance, he was a gentle soul and formed a close friendship with Mysa, the White Witch, appointing himself her protector.
Blok quit the Legion after the events of Black Dawn and retired to The Puppet Planetoid, passing his time in deep contemplation. It was here that he was found by Roxxas, who murdered him on orders from the Dominators. His remains were sent to the Ranzz family on Winath, in an effort to demoralize former members of the Legion and prevent them from reforming the group. However, Blok's murder had the opposite effect and some former members of the Legion re-united.

When Mysa was imprisoned by Mordru on the Sorcerer's World, Blok went with Wildfire and Dawnstar to rescue her. He succeeded; in the ensuing battle with the Justice League, Mordru, the Legion of Super-Villains and the Fatal Five, Blok was badly injured. He rejected Brainiac 5's efforts to heal him and went to find Mysa, who had returned to the Sorcerer's World. Her magical energies both healed him and changed his appearance into a more humanoid form. He currently resides with Mysa on the Sorcerer's World.

Comet Queen
First Appearance: SLSH #304 (vol.1) October 1983 Status: Hero Real Name: Grava Group Affiliation: Legion of Substitute-Heroes Home Planet: Extal Colony Height: Weight: Eyes: Yellow Hair: None Special Abilities and Powers: Flight, flight in outer space. Emits noxious comet gases.
Grava was a young girl on Extal who wanted to have a superpower like the Legionnaires. To accomplish this, she took a spaceship and stood in the path of a passing comet, since a comet had given Star Boy his powers. The comet did give her the power of flight and comet gas extrusion, but also changed her physical appearance.
When Bouncing Boy came to Extal on a good will tour, the exuberant Grava introduced herself as Comet Queen and asked to join the Legion. In an effort to prove her worthiness, she took off on a mission. Bouncing Boy followed to rescue her, but both became trapped in a tunnel which vented an active volcano. Between the two of them, they escaped and Bouncing Boy suggested that she study at The Legion Academy.
She was noted for her strange speech pattern and great enthusiasm. Upon graduation, Comet Queen joined a new Legion Substitute Heroes led by former Legionnaire Cosmic Boy.

Retroboot Comet Queen
First Appearance: SLSH #304 (vol.1) October 1983 Status: Hero Real Name: Grava Group Affiliation: Legion of Super-Heroes Home Planet: Extal Colony Height: Weight: Eyes: Yellow Hair: None Special Abilities and Powers: Flight, flight in outer space. Extrudes comet gases.
As a young girl, Grava demonstrated a keen talent for flying space ships, but wanted to adquire superpowers like the Legionnaires she admired. She decided to expose herself to a passing comet, which did give her powers although it changed her physical appearance. Grava used these powers for good deeds on Extal, but set her sights on the Legion Academy to be near Bouncing Boy, on whom she had a serious crush. When she graduated, she was offered a position in the Legion of Substitute Heroes.
When the Legion was fighting Saturn Queen after Titanfall, Comet Queen rushed to help them and was mind-wiped by Saturn Queen. Although she regained much of her memory with the help of Tellus, she was sent back to the Academy to continue her recovery. She and her fellow students proved themselves when they rushed to Legion Headquarters to rescue their teachers who had fallen in a fight with the villain Cosmic King. Since The Legion was seriously undermanned, due to seven members being lost and presumed dead, Comet Queen was made a Legionnaire, along with other members of her Academy class.
On a mission to rescue Brainiac 5 and Dream Girl from the Dominators, she attacked her teammates. Brainiac 5 later discovered that she had been brainwashed to kill him, although, at this time, it is not known why.
