The Japanese place in the food court where I usually have lunch when I have a meeting Downtown closed. It's been there at least as long as I've lived here.

I had to cancel class today for only the third time in the eight years I've been teaching. All three times were due to car problems.

The safe at work was stuck shut this morning, so we had to call a locksmith. Turns out, the cause of the jam was...ONE MEASLY PENNY! Truth!

The living and dining areas of chez_cleome are just one big room.

As of today, there are four pieces of furniture in the room that are on wheels.

What can I say? Wheeled furniture is a lifesaver when you've got two clutter fiends in residence and not a lot of space.

I am much more distressed at how many real stories should just be a figment of an Onion-ista's imagination-- but aren't.

For example, the story from a couple of Halloweens ago: A law firm that specialized in helping banks do "streamlined" foreclosures thought it would be hilarious to throw a party in which everyone in the office dressed up as homeless people.

Then they claimed to not understand why this was gross and tasteless.

There is a New York Times feature now like the Onion ... Except it is scarily close to reality, the stories are almost believable. its satire i suppose.

I kind of think the NYT would want to avoid reminding us of all the times they've already made stuff up without disclosing it until much later.
