<Lardy rubs his temples but manages a grin for his best friend>
Good to see you again, too, Des.
Of course I'll take him in and see what I can do with him.
<picks up his Omnicom>
I've got quite an inaugural class here, Des. I swear to the gods that each and every one of them has the potential to be the greatest hero--or the foulest enemy--the LMB has ever seen.
Though some of their classes have started, I still need to scheduloe some one-on-ones with a few of them.
<rubs his temples again>
What the hell was I thinking restarting the Academy?
<grins>
Aw, fuck--you know I'm lovin' every minute of it!
Still "Lardy" to my friends!

Sebastian stared out at the island he just arrived on. He was wearing a black suit with a bright yellow tie. He had put aside this trip for months as he had been busy with other affairs, but now was time to visit the Academy and speak with Paladin. He glanced at the constructions and thought it looked strangely familiar. They look a bit similar to buildings on my homeland, He thought as he walked through the door.
There was an unfamiliar face working the front desk, perhaps a LMBer from before his time. The sentient asked, "How may I help you?"
"Yes, I have an appointment so see the Headmaster," He said. I think this is the first time I have used that word since I was thirteen, He thought as he was escorted to Paladin's office.
"It is good to see you, Sebastian," Paladin greeted. He was a bit surprised to see Question Lad out of costume. Paladin thought he had only seen him in civilian clothes twice.
"It is good to see you as well," Sebastian answered. "I know why you have called me here. I understand that running a school is expensive, and given the student body's 'unique' nature, highly risky. How much money do you need?" He smiled until Paladin's expression told him that he was wrong, and that was not the reason he was called here. At least it was not the primary reason.

"Well, we did it," Kinetix grinned at Kairos. "We're officially graduates of basic training, and so we have no more obligations to the Academy. Although I do think you'd miss SOME of the classes, at least?"
"Actually, I wouldn't mind sitting in a bit more," Kairos agreed. "Maybe we can get IB to schedule some refresher lessons from time to time."
Kinetix agreed. "I just hope he's adjusted to the idea that he really IS the Chief of Security."

Kinetix, Kairos and a shaky Blaze exited Lolita's class.
"Takes some getting used to, huh?" Zoe asked Blaze as he plopped down on a bench.
"Tell me about it. She wasn't anything like that during the Dark Oval war."
"She just didn't show it," Zoe replied. "We were together on Rimbor, and she can be very businesslike too. I think that's something every Security Officer should learn."
Blaze shrugged. "I do see the value in what we do, but mostly I'm just around to be near IB. I thought being a hero would be more glamorous."
"I think it is," Kairos said as she thumbed through her files, "but it also takes some hard work. Even the party-crowd like Cobie and Hrun and IB himself went through a lot of training. I've met Princess Spellbinder and let me tell you, she wasn't just born regal. I bet she went through princess school or something like that."
Blaze sighed. "I am used to hard work, and we do a lot of good. So, how long will we three be classmates again?"
Kairos and Kinetix glanced at each other. "Well, you two were gone quite a while... we're "graduating" next week."
At Blaze's shocked glance, Kairos hastily added, "but we do plan to sit in from time to time."
"But there'll be a lot more training at the OoS. Remember IB said he planned to continue them?" Kinetix explained. "So we won't be sitting in that often. At least, not in the same classes you need to take. But you'll be with us in OoS training too."
"Anyway, Paladin said those of us inducted during the Oval War only need to take the basic curriculum. You'll be through in no time," Kairos added with a smile.
Blaze slumped down. "Aw man, I miss IB..."

<The first semester has just dismissed, and Headmaster Paladin celebrates by taking his boots off and propping his feet on his desk. Leaning back in his recliner, Paladin looks through his files on his Omnicom.>
Quite a successful first term, if I do say so myself! That Ranzz girl is a frickin' star! And yet...
<His eyes linger on several names in his files.>
...there are six students that are having a particularly rough time fitting in. The energy being Drake...Vrykos, the vampire kid...Tamerlane, the Khund...that Braalian Krinn...the aptly-named conundrum.....
....but most of all, it's that Druiter kid. Always picking fights! He's got some attitude on him. dangerous...cocky...out of control...just like.......
....me. <He finally admits.>
<He grins a little bit and then tenses.>
That's why I've got to keep an eye on him. Mentor him. I made a lot of mistakes. Hurt a lot of people....
<Inspiration hits.> I'll put him in a class with the other five...taught by me!
<Paladin smiles and outlines the class on his Omnicom.>

<Reflekto crossed her arms next to Ayla.>
"whew. There is one term down." "what to do know"
She didn't celebrate any of the Winter holidays but it would sure be nice to not take classes, help Professor Rond Vidar with as his teaching assistant, AND fight crime incognito!
She was tired, and she needed a break. She would miss her friends Ayla, Gravity Kid and Energy Boy. Energy Boy was super shy but she felt he might be a nice kid.
Most students were catching hover buses to see their families but Reflekto ... didn't have any ... well any she liked ... her father was dead ... her brother, the original Reflecto ... MISSING ... she refused to say he was dead like everyone else ... and she hated her annoying aunt and uncle. They positively seemed ANTI-science at times ... this is 3013!
She did have a nice old grandmother she wrote letters to, she would have to visit her ... but other than that what was she to do!

When the students and staff go to check their messages they find a peculiar invitation forwarded from the Headmaster's office. It was sent by Emily Sivana, a name a few of them recognize as a member of a prominent business family on Earth. They open the message to see a detailed invitation to a science fair:
Students and faculty sponsors are invited to Georgia's Science Fair sponsored by Sivana Technology, hosted this year at Beaufort College. It is located in the city of Castilgione on Legion World.
There will be a total of ten panels: Astronomy, Environmental Science, Geology, Inorganic Chemistry, Medicine, Microbiology, Neuroscience, Organic Chemistry, Physics, and Physical Geography. Contestants will only be allowed to submit one project or part of a project to the Science Fair.
Those who are judged the best at their panel will move on to the final round. First place overall winners will receive a free-ride scholarship to Beaufort College. Second place winners will receive 200,000 in Legion World currency. All panel winners will receive a commemorative plaque as recognition of their participation in Georgia's Science Fair.
This competition happens only once every four years. The minimum age for participation is sixteen. There is no maximum age limit, but those who have already earned their bachelor's degree are ineligible for this competition. They may instead serve in the capacity as sponsor, mentor, and chaperone. Sponsors do not have to attend the competition, but all minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Sivana Technology bears no responsibility for the safety of other people's children at the Science Fair. Feel free to bring friends and relatives to the Science Fair.
Projects that will not be allowed entry to this competition include perpetual motion machines and objects found in Egyptian archeological sites. For a complete list of banned entries, please see the website.
Schedule 8:00 A.M - Welcome Address delivered by the Chair of the Natural Science Division. 8:15 - History of Georgia's Science Fair as explained by Emily Sivana 8:30 - 9:30 - Project Displays, feel free to look at other peoples projects 9:30 - 10:30 - Judging of Microbiology, Organic Chemistry, and Environmental Science panels 10:30 - 11:30 - Judging of Medicine, Inorganic Chemistry, and Geology panels 11:30 - 12:15 - Lunch 12:15 - Special Speaker; please send an email to the Chair of the Natural Science Division if you are interested in speaking at the lunch. 12:30 - 1:30 - Judging of Astronomy and Neuroscience panels 1:30 - 2:30 - Judging of Physical Geography and Physics panels

<'ports inside his office after his date with Ann Hebistand.> <pulls out Omnicom and glances at the articles and pictures from their outing already being posted> Forgot what it was like to be a person and not just a headmaster.... <Val Armorr, the Academy's hand-to-hand combat instructor/Assistant Headmaster enters> Val: You're all over the trash reports, Tony. Yeah, Val...just having a little fun, right? Val: You think that's appropriate behavior for the LMB Academy's headmaster? It's completely harmless. Val: <sighs> Tony, you're in a precarious position here. these kids look up to you. Val, they're all at or above the age of majority. it's not like it's elementary school...or even high school! Val: Like it or not, you're a role model. And you represent this institution. And what's more... <puts his hand on Lardy's shoulder> ...you're emotionally vulnerable. I'm a big boy, Val. She says she's looking for some publicity, and I'm jumping at the chance to get out a little, eh? Val: Just tread carefully, my friend. <leaves office> <Lardy yells after him> Yes, mom! <rolls his eyes> <looks at the Omnicom photos and smiles softly> She's easy on the eyes, though...

Invisible Brainiac to PaladinHiya Lardy. Don't worry about the Science Fair. Blaze and I will be there. On vacation, but you know how it goes in the Office of Security. We're never really on vacation. Oh yeah, remember the kids from Earth I was telling you about? Some of 'em are my age or older, but I still see 'em as kids. Anyway, a handful of them are finally ready to pop on over to L.W. for some training. Blaze and I handpicked them ourselves, of course we picked the more open-minded ones who play well with others. Some of 'em are pretty powerful, too.. This could be the start of something big. There are a couple hundred of 'em in all, but we'll only get a dozen at a time. yeah, this is gonna be fun! *END TRANSMISSION*

"Science Fair?"
"Did someone say Science Fair? SCIENCE FAIR!"
Rond was so excited he nearly ran off without his glasses, and then he found them on his face!
In a flurry, he mumbled many things to himself ....
"hahahahaha .... Time Cube .... hahahahaha"
