...watched inauguration coverage most of the day. Teared up a few times. Proud of my country. Proud of my President. Proud to be a Democrat. No hesitations or apologies.

... am not sure what I did. Must have been an unremarkable day.

...stepped up to become a part of the LMB!

... met a new friend at the Academy. ^

... wished I was back in the Academy!

... baked up 3 squares/cookies for a fundraiser this week, while having a very good day on my new diet!

...had this confusing sense of being content where I am but wishing I were somewhere else.

did absolutely nothing whatsoever that could be deemed interesting in any way, shape or form.

...just had to take a nap.

...nearly froze walking to my car after work this morning; -43C with windchill

...turned 33. To celebrate I went and did my taxes, paid my property tax, went grocery shopping, and generally felt sorry for myself and lamented the shitty weather.

It's that kind of year.

...had 3 hours sleep after a nightshift, a two hour long doctors appointment, showered and went back to work for another 12 hour shift (its where I am now)

...go into Halifax. Buy some graphic novels, eat Szechuan, hit the university library.

What did the university library do to Fat Kramer that it needs to be hit?

Woke up sleepy despite having a good 7 hours in bed.

...Spent most of the morning chatting with my very first client for my new business

... had one of the worst commutes of my life.

First at my stop, trains heading into Boston can come from Braintree or Ashmont and arrive on different tracks. IN the morning, the Braintree train can be so pack, you can't get on. 2 Braintree trains came and were too packed, but I saw an Ashmont train approaching. So I hurried to the other platform and waited and waited and waited. After about 5 minutes, the train pulls into the station. I get on. It's crowded, but there is room to get on. Then they announce that the train is standing by because of a signal problem in Cambridge. So we wait for another 10 minutes. Now it is 9, when I am supposed to be at work. I called in to let them know what was happening. The train finally goes, but at every stop we stand by for 10-20 minutes. A train ride that normally takes 10 minutes took 45 minutes. And with the initial waiting, I was an hour and 15 minutes late. Grrr!!!!!!

... had a much better though unnecessary commute.

Yesterday I was told that the office would be open but close at noon. This morning I got up. Saw that it wasn't snowing yet. Had breakfast and went into the office. This commute was much easier than the last one I wrote about. I even got a seat. I arrive at the office and no one is there yet, but I am early. After a bit, with no one else showing up, I call the switchboard/bad weather line. Guess what? The office is closed all day! So, I sign off my computer, pack up my stuff and head home. Again, a nice subway ride. So nice that I was tempted to keep riding for a bit longer.
