Slapping girls was another tradition of that never-before-or-since mentioned Braalian holiday.

Gina, the panel in question appears in SUPERBOY/LSH # 215, in the second story.

As you can imagine, that disturbing panel made quite a lasting impression on my Legion-loving-li'l mind at the time.

For one thing, it (along with Rokk's crappy-ass behaviour in S/LSH # 212 earlier) made it very difficult for me to really like Cosmic Boy!

But nowadays, I see his actions then in a more campy light...

All I need is simple mathematics.

Rokk = Cosmic Boy.

Cosmic Boy = the most important Legionnaire, ever.

He slapped Ayla because he, the great Legionnaire, decided it was a good move!

Good enough for me!

For all I know, he did it for truth and justice!

Oh god I am going to die and go to hell now.

She slapped him off-panel, and he was out to even the score.

BUT THAT wasn't good enough! NO!

Years later, after she'd forgortten the whole thing, Rokk tricks Cham into taking Brin on a suicide mission, hoping Imra would have to rescue them, and they'd get it on, just in time to be caught by Ayla and Dawny.

Far-fetched, you say? HAH! THat original off-camera slap form Ayla was so strong a blow to Rokk's fragile ego that it was THE trigger event that years later would cause HIM to become the final pre-boot incarnation of the Time Trapper! Thus, Trapper Rokk would have guided young Rokk into how to plan his SWEET REVENGE!
