Dude. You go in the water. I'll stick to where it's not freeeeeezing, thanks. I live in California, we're really, REALLY far from the equator. I don't care what Hollywood or whoever else says -- it's effing cold!! Maybe in San Diego I'd go in... but it's freezing everywhere north of there.

I realize it. I live in the perpetual winter of San Francisco. Summer is a concept fondly remembered from growing up on the Great Lakes, but seldom experienced anymore.

Yeah man. I grew up in the bay and, like... yeah. SF was in perpetual fog!! Still wanna live there after I graduate tho.

I would love to try the west coast for a few years but I'd miss the full 4 seasons for sure

BB, that's so true. It is in February that I truly appreciate the Bay Area. February on Lake Huron is bitter and depressing. But July and August are indeed sweet. It balances out.

Long Island Iced Green Tea? I'll have to wing it. You do realize, don't you, Arachne, that there is no tea in a Long Island Iced Tea. The tea colour comes from the coca-cola (and the rum if you use dark rum). So I think I'll substitute Mountain Dew for the coca-cola to get the Long Isalnd Iced Green Tea. Here's the recipe -

1 part Vodka
1 part Tequila
1 part Rum
1 part Gin
1 part Triple sec
1 1/2 part Sour mix
1 splash Mountain Dew

Enjoy, and please, no high-heels when drinking Long Island Iced Green Tea. They're just too dangerous.

Well the collins glass is larger so that would be my preference. But I think the question is more appropriately directed to the patron? Arachne - a big one or a medium sized one?

I agree, it is a very stiff drink in a highball glass.

Highballs kinda faded as the trend went to lower alcohol "cooler" type drinks a way back. I wouldn't even bother with that type of glass if I were opening a bar these days.

But what would you serve a Myer's and coke in?

I'd probably use an old-fashioned rocks glass.

I know it looks stubby and it's not as elegant, but the lower profile has the added advantage of being more resistant to damage in the wash cycle.

But SHAKES uses only Baccarat and Christofle crystal which must be handwashed. Babette and Troy are very adept and have never broken a glass since I installed the bar back protocol in them.

Wow I had no idea we had such haughty clientele around LW. I will have to reassess my frame of reference.
