At a side table a drunken Gigglebot GGG and Harbinger are laughing as they discuss the failings of the various men in their lives.
“Semi, another three pints of Skullsplitter” shouts the normally ever so sedate Harbi
“You nose, you ….know” slurs GGG “I wonder who could get close enough to flyaway, Farawry, …FARaway, to hurt him like that.”
“Yeah, or maybe it wasn’t someONE but something” said Harbi from deep inside her pint glass.
“Something else else…..” said Gigi uncertainly, “you mean something small like those bees!!!!!!!”
Jumping up and powering up her armour she fires off a barrage of small lollypops which as they get close to the Red Bee’s bees suddenly deploy little net's and capture all the flying insects.
“I don’t want to hurt helpless insects” she cries “but you, you traitor” pointing unsteadily at the Red Bee, or maybe at Vee who happened to be standing close by, “you I don’t mind hurting” and she fires off a three pronged explosive lollypop attack.
Pass me my Super Lollypop.

(....which OM, seeing what's coming, manages to shift to a nearby asteroid, where they detonate harmlessly.)
Look, I know it's been tough for you, but could you not take it out on the bar?

This weekend, SHAKES is an intrigue-free zone. It's a quiet oasis for those Legion Worlders who don't have a clue what Cobalt Kid is up to, who don't understand 95% of the threads in the Mission Monitor Board. (I expect our dear Cobie falls into that category as well. He's just good at faking it - or so one of his ladies told me. )

You know me too well (You might have noticed I put lots of links in my posts these days, so I have a timeline to keep for myself so *I* know what's going on ) Intrigue free it is then! I'll have a martini, gin of course), and enjoy the atmosphere for bit. I've been drinking them neat lately. This started b/c I wanted to be different and order them 'neat', but I've started to like them this way.

One olive or two? Or may I suggest a cocktail onion instead. Then, instead of a martini, you call it a "Gibson".

Hm, I've never tried that before. I'd be delighted to try a 'Gibson' then, good sir!

I'm making it with Boodles Gin for you, Cobie. That's apparently Prince Charles favorite gin.
Next time, I'll make you a martini with Hendricks gin. Instead of olives or onions, we use a slice of cucumber. Quite refreshing.

You've told me about those before Semi, but I don't think I've ever actually had one...I must get acquainted with these various types of gin martinis--I’m ready to become a connoisseur!

Is akavit another gin, or something different? I don't think I've ever heard of it, and I'm always searching for new liquors to try.

Akavit, also spelled aquavit, means water of lfe. It is a pure alcohol, flavored with caraway seed. One of the best is Linje Akavit from Norway. Akavit is mild in favor and is best enjoyed with a twist of citrus (lime, lemon, or orange).

Wow, that's something I don't think I've ever heard of. It also sounds *very* good. I actually think I'm going to write that down and put a note in my pocket to remind myself for tonight

Caraway seed? So that's it. I thought akvavit tasted a lot like chocolate. Pretty yummy. Pretty dangerous too. Wooo
I'm too sexy for my shirt.

I'm thirsty. It's hard work trying to expose Kippers for his crimes.

Here's the official new bar puppy, since Puppy STU is MIA. He's very accomplished and can pour a mean martini.

Sorry, I should have said that is a picture of Buster, who passed away in January. Buster was my boy lying at my feet when SHAKES started, so it's only fitting that he be SHAKES official puppy. That was a picture taken of Buster when he was about 2 years old. Duncan is nowhere near that big yet.
