'Croydon' and 'jewel' rarely go together in a sentence that doesn't also involve the word 'robbery' And it's O'Callaghan then - that might be part of the problem - must remember to look for the right name!

I just looked Croydon up on the web, and frankly, any town that has a night club named Babushka can't be all bad. After all, Slavic grannies need somewhere to party too.

Babushkas is alright actually, though I recommend Pals on a Monday as it has really comfy couches and great live jazz! Anyway, before I bid you all goodnight, just for Semi, I've dug out the old accoustic and have put Elkie Brooks and Nina Simones versions of this song out of my mind. Lilac Wine <in the style of Jeff Buckley> I lost myself on a cool damp night I gave myself in that misty light Was hypnotized by a strange delight Under a lilac tree I made wine from the lilac tree Put my heart in its recipe It makes me see what I want to see... And be what I want to be When I think more than I want to think Do things I never should do I drink much more than I oughtta drink Because I brings me back you... Lilac wine is sweet and heady, like my love Lilac wine, I feel unsteady, like my love Listen to me... I cannot see clearly Isn't that she coming to me nearly here? Lilac Wine, I feel unready for my love I feel unready for my love...

Too early to imbibe here ... although it must be martini-hour somewhere in this arm of the galaxy! Just pass the decaf carafe and put something interesting on the jukebox ....
OverPower isn't dead ... it's just very, VERY dormant!

Okay, it's time for happy hour. Please be happy. Drinks are free (as always) and we have hors d'oeuvres, thanks to Cafe Cramer.

Sorry Miner, we're out of buffalo chicken tenders. Could I interest you in a plate of little cocktail weenies in barbeque sauce. Or perhaps a cheese dream?

That is a relief, and I don't even know what a cheese dream is.

No, but it sounds interesting. Are you sure you can't get that, Semi?
Since I had a pint of Heineken for lunch, I'll go with that again now.

A cheese dream is pretty tacky, but tasty - put a slice of Kraft American cheese on white bread (crust removal is optional), put two slices of bacon on top. Run it under the broiler until the bacon is cripsy and the cheese is bubbling and browning. You probably know this by some other name.

Hey Cobie, how about a Manhattan? I have this nice Brand X bourbon - aged 2 weeks in a poly-propylene bucket.

Just kidding, I couldn't do that to you, Cobie. That bourbon is for SHAKES Mobile when it visits Red States.
A Manhattan made with Crown Royal is very smooth, and that's what you're getting.
