I feel for you, Scott. I normally keep my hair long too, and I'm glad my employers haven't insisted I cut it.
Very, very nice thing donating the hair. You're a class act, my man.

Scott, thats a shame, especially if you dont deal with the paying customers so would not affect the "corporate image" Mind you its typical of you to both think of donating the hair, and not tell us, leaving it to Caroline to come here to break the news to us. my friend. You have just shown, again, why I respect you and and am pleased to know you as a warm wonderful human being.

I bet Scott looks gorgeous with a marines haircut Caroline. Scott, we all have to make sacrifices to make ends meet and it's a sour taste it leaves too, but donating your hair is a great way of making lemonade from the lemons your work has thrown you, well done! And I'm sure if you asak nicely EDE wouldn't mind lending you one of his nelly caps to keep your ears warm
Legion Worlds NINE - wait, there's even more ongoing amazing adventures? Yup, and you'll only find them in the Bits o' Legionnaire Business Forum.

Scott, that was very "Gift of the Magi" of y'all (read that O. Henry short story, folks, if you haven't yet) and became a productive sacrifice. At least a handful of us got to meet you up close in San Diego this Summer and witness your magnificent Samsonian locks before they came off.
I'm going to think of this every time I see one of those buzz-cut Mormon missionaries. I hope that in karmic retribution for what Marriott did to you, a half-dozen such young bucks freeze their necks in a Midwest Winter and decide, "Screw this door-to-door proselytizing $#!+, with not even a brandy to warm me up tonight -- I'm getting out of this 'calling'!"
(Disclaimers *sigh*: Nothing here against all Mormon individuals as such, but I detest all proselytizers and all organized religion. Especially when it's to the overorganized degree of the LDS. And I do have a sneaking belief in karma-ish patterns. And Marriott sucks Olympic-sized corporate arse.)
Now, at the next ComicCon, I'm going to buy you, Caroline, and your long-lost hair each a Word-of-Unwisdom drink! Don't you dare stop me!

I'll take you up on that Steve. And heartily agree with you on the other 'topic'.
Thanks everyone for your comments. Still not used to feeling so cold. Maybe I'll look around for one of those nelly caps.

Been there meself once or twice, my friend.
luckily, my current employers are more open-minded - small biz instead of corporate. plus, my hair looks much better in pony-tail than short.

I just pretty much stopped caring what my employers think.
Fortunately the higher ups in the corporation don't pay lowly shift suprevisors like myself much mind, so I can pretty much get away with whatever I want as long as I do the job and do it well. My work ethic and knowledge pretty much speak for themselves.

Oh geez and holy crap!
Scott! Your hair!
Man, I'm sorry to hear of this chain of events. This reminds me of when I sold my 200-piece Transformers collection a few years back.
White. A blank page or canvas. His favorite. So... many... possibilities.
