S'true, I only account for 1/4 of my actual posts. The rest are all done by three others. Eryk's ONE of 'em. Not tellin who the other 2 of me are. Wait a minute! You mean it's YOU and not ME! So then who's been generating all of MY posts? I thought it was four of YOU? [/b]Jeepers! I knew that it couldn't be just one person who was beating us in the post count race!

"Intangled together"?! That's not how I would put it. "Platonically cohabitating," maybe.

I have three alt Id's that I can remember, all of which were originally generated as jokes in responce to various discussion threads. I believe they are all known to the general populance here.
I have not created thought to create an alt ID as a separate pesonality, or other type of ruse. I just might consider that now.
Of course, here is a problem with alt ID's. At one time I thought I had four, but now I either can't remmber the fourth one, or remembered the number I actually have wrong.
The revelation of one of the prominant posters being a joint production comes as quite a revelation.

Hmmm, I count four alt-IDs which I'm pretty sure are you, Pofobo.

Portfolio Boy, I don't really think that any of the prominent posters are joint productions. That's just nonsense meant to confuse us all! Believe me, I know, I've been trying to figure out ID's for years! Ever since a certain friend of mine created an alt ID named "Space Tart" that eventually became my one true love ! In the old days you could pretty much assume four out of five alt ID's were Lash. Now it's a lot harder and you have to do detective work through PM's and email

The mere thought that my beloved Mekt could be The Composite Man has left me at sixes and sevens. You just don't know who to trust anymore.

Okay, I admit it, The Space Ranger isn't really an altID, I am. I think... Maybe...

(And that deerstalker hat and meerschaum pipe only add to the overall effect.) Keep up the good work! To further hone your detecting prowess, might I suggest reviewing the complete collections of The Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, Encyclopedia Brown, Danny Dunn, and The Three Investigators, as well as multiple games of Legion World Clue ?

Oh my god! I had sooooo forgotten about Danny Dunn! Major 80s flashback! And the 3 Investigators were my favorite! It made me wish that my parents owned a junkyard, rather than a castle

Mine too!!!! I haven't read them in years. I thought I read somewhere that there were stories about them as adults. Is that true?

The later 3 Investigators stories still had them as teens, if I remember correctly (I was in my 20s when I bought them ), although I think they were close to graduation. One or two of them had girlfriends (I think it was Pete and Bob (?). I don't know how many they ended up making, but it was good fun.

Here's a fansite that has some more info about the Three Investigators: http://www.threeinvestigatorsbooks.homestead.com/ It looks like there might be a Three Investigators movie in the works... (And I wonder whether Alfred Hitchcock ever introduced the Investigators to The Mystery of the Bates Motel?)

The Three Investigators, along with Trixie Belden, Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys and Tom Swift, all were aces with me growing up. I had the hardback versions of all the series. Wish I still did.

Happy to say I still have all my Tom Swift and Hardy Boys books (including the very hard to find Detective Manual!)

Oh, the Detective Manual! Man, that was my best Christmas gift one year. I got the book and a P.I. kit with a magnifying glass, brush, finger print dust, tape to lift the prints and a whole bunch of stuff I can't remember.

OK, I'll also 'fess up to having read Trixie Belden. It was so wholesome, yet enjoyable.
I remember swearing off apples for several months after Trixie's brother Brian fell ill from the cyanide in apple seeds...
