Really, that poetry seminar was a disaster. I did meet Tarik himself, he's really a very kind old man who regrets his past misdeeds and is trying to dedicate himself to providing higher learning to those who are unable to be accepted by more established institutions. He only remains somewhat secretive due to continued and persistent harassement by legal authorities.
Unfortunately, the old guy is being manipulated by a gang of so-called professors whose motives certainly seem questionable. He doesn't even know, just spends his days browsing through his extensive library (some volumes of which may have been stolen, I'll admit).
Well, I left after a few hours. They wanted me to act all nefarious and evil and write poems about conquering the universe and killing your brother .... it just wasn't for me.

Wha-? But.. How could... NO!! Professor Tarik T. Mute is not some misguided old man! He has shown me the folly of goodness and has promised that if I stick with him I will be wealthy and powerful!! Fat Cramer is a traitor to the Academy!!!

Sentient, I am delighted to hear that you have reconsidered your choice in this matter. However I am disturbed by your perception of Tarik as a "kind old man." During your (thankfully) short tenure at his academy, did you encounter any persons of Titanian origin?

Well, yes - there was a lovely young woman there (I forget her name) - but she had been gainfully employed at Takron-Galtos, working on some special project for the Warden.
