Not to prolong this discussion any longer than it has to, I'd simply like to state that your assessment of my motives and what I would have done under different circumstances are incorrect. I've stepped in on other occassions where there was dissent among posters on this board (once involving Reep, another involving Grey, I don't remember the others)-- usually if I think it's a case of people misunderstanding each other and nobody has ill motives. Flaming is pretty rare here, but sometimes things get heated for no reason and if the people involved seem reasonable and I think my interpretation of the situation will be heard, I'll throw in my two cents (it's a public forum after all and not a private convo). You obviously have very strong feelings about Gail's statements so I'll just let it go at that.

Hmm... I wonder if Sensor's implants will stop working as well?

All I want to say about the more heated aspects of this thread thus far is "don't let this get to the point where we have to become involved."

Be civil and fair with one another please.

I consider myself about as big a celebrity as the guy at the drive-thru of the local KFC, but in fact, that made be a bit grandiose because at least with him, people get food.

I would just like to opine that I think this whole problem could be solved if Gail convinces Mark Waid to do a Super-Stalag of Space story in the new series. Only this time, let Blockade Boy punch Nardo right in that third eye of his.

I think Fortress Lad or Boy or whatever is the clear solution.

I'm also glad that he apparently kept my suggestion of "Took" for the character's name.

Well, according to my handy-dandy Matter-Eater Lad Secret Files and Origins, the Stupid Stalag arc runs from #8-#10 (or pages 19-24 or the thread), with a prelude beginning in #7 (pg. 17)!

FYI- Shirley, the succulent LegionWorld maid, uses only "low" tech cleaning supplies & implements!

JUST finished it--

May I state that is it likely the BEST issue of THE LEGION since the early DnA/Coipel issues, back when this run began.

Gail, you did what I was beginning to think was impossible-- you actually got me to LIKE Violet for the first time since she caused the death of Gim Allon.

The page where it is revealed Violet held onto the ship, we see Brainy's VERY scary face, and Tinya's horrified expression as she looks at the blood on her hands was my favorite single page of the story!

My favorite lines of the issue:

Karate Kid: "Assuming that butt IS yours, of course." 'Bout time Val god that rod out of his ass and started having a little fun!

and

Violet: "You really, REALLY shouldn't have done that." A statement, not an exclamation-- keeping with postboot Vi's personality-- but stated in a way that obviously scared the bad guy. Excellent!!

Wow... I like Trudy. Never really noticed her much before.

Not too sure about the villains yet, but Devil's line about the survivors thanking them was chilling.

I'm of the opinion that Simone, Jurgens, Smith & Mechana CANNOT be praised enough for this issue. A LEGION issue like this was LONG overdue!!!

On top of all this, we are treated to a shirtless "Miracle Boy" milk ad!! After seeing THAT, I drank a half-gallon of the stuff!

Any chance you can fit HIM into an issue, Gail??? You could call him "Miracle Lad" or "Biker Boy" and HEY, his powers wouldn't be affected by the spike, so he fits RIGHT into the plot.
