That leaves about three slots open. Guesses?

You could add Lightning Lad too. Per the Baltimore Panel thread the founders are still the founders. Of course we're joining the series "in progress" so there's no sure bet that he's still in the picture.

Add to the list Karate Kid and Ultra Boy. Waid also said we'd SEE Lightning Lad in Wizard #154 and verified yesterday the three founders would still be the founders. Hopefully he's not dead again.

A black Star Boy? That would be a novel idea, except for, well, Black Goliath/Giant-Man, Green Lantern, Captain Marvel, Invisible Kid, ad nauseum. Why not create a NEW black character, or highlight an existing one, like Gear?

So... assuming Lightning Lad is in, what other Adventure era characters are we missing?

Note that those are one's who died or resigned from active duty once the Adventure era was over.

Does anybody have another link to the cover art? When I try to open the link EDE posted in the first page I get the following message:

Eek! Man, I always feel bad when I dis someone's artwork and then they read it! Just to clarify - I *really* like your artwork Barry, its just some of your character designs that have left me a little cold in the past. Who says things can't change though? And I have full faith that I'll love your work on the Legion in all other areas.

And great news to hear that the colours are just preliminary! That was probably my biggest gripe.

Now on to the revelations -

Top row :

* Imra - No surprises there (even though I said there would be one )
* Dirk - Well, most people got him. GREAT NEWS though! About time he came back!
* Nura - No surprises here either. Don't forget the beauty spot though Barry.
* Thom - The biggest shock! Don't know what to think of this. Part of me is very disappointed its not Tyroc. Another part is happy to see more minorities on the team, but I would have much preferred it if it had been done in a more fluid way. For example Salu could very easily have been changed to being Asian as it wouldn't have been a huge departure from her look anyway. Or if the change was made with a slightly lower profile character. For example what they did with Condo when he was introduced in the reboot a while ago. I think most of me is cool with this but I just really hope Thom doesn't turn into the new Sneckie!
* Tasmia - The colouring probably misled most of us here. Looking forward to seeing the final product.

Main picture :

* Rokk - Think we all got this one.
* Jan - Good to see him back alive and not the wimpy Jan of the reboot anymore. This could be the first time I've ever actually like Element Lad. Kinda disappointed its not Nemesis Kid though. Still, maybe he's still to come?
* Tinya - Can see it now.
* Jeckie - Fantastic! Death to Sneckie!
* Querl - Obviously.
* Jo - Obviously.
* Chameleon - Uh-oh. Not liking this one. Maybe he's just in a strange form. Bring back the antennae Barry.
* Val - Cool. Always liked Val. His rough and tough stance looks like we may be seeing a more interesting character than the reboot one too.

Now that I've written all that I've just had a thought. Who says that is Imra, Dirk, Nura, Thom, etc? It could be completely different people in the Saturn Girl, Sun Boy, Dream Girl, Star Boy, etc roles? That would be an interesting twist if so! Maybe that's not Thom or Reep or Nura after all.

I (obviously) haven't read the entire thread, so forgive me if this has been emphatically stated somewhere by Barry or someone in the know.

To me, it doesn't really look like Star Boy is supposed to be of African descent. He doesn't have obviously African-looking features. Maybe it's just the coloring that's making everyone think that? I mean, after all, Sun Boy's not really going to be orange-skinned, is he? To me it just looks like Thom will have a shorter haircut in the re-imagining.

Lightning/Light Lass is missing, too.

Got to ask... does Waid's Boy/Lad/Girl/Lass/Kid fetish seem out of place with the "As if the team was created today" crap he's spouting?

Does anyone actually believe that, if the team was created today, with no prior (real-world) history, any of them would have "Lad" or "Lass" codenames?

I really do enjoy your artwork and I'm looking forward to seeing it in the new book. Just not so sure about the fate of the Legion that I've invested so much time, emotion, and money into enjoying.
