I demand electoral reform, reading Cobie's chronology has led me to believe that direct democracy can't work here. What we need is a convuluted system for indirect elections for leader.

We have that now.
Basically, somebody gets up and says "I wanna be leader", and LW collectively answers "OK, whatever".
Seems to work fine.
