I'll be the contrarian. I don't give a wet slap about Rond Vidar.
I vote nay.
Don't backtrack; tell the story that you're telling; it better be good.

I think it's obvious Rond will be revived, probably as some green energy being similar to Celeste Rockfish back in the day. Otherwise, why bring his body to Oa?
IMHO, this just turns him into a green Wildfire, so what's the point? I say just give him back his ring and smokin' hot costume and make him an ACTIVE honorary member. 'Course, we'll have to deal with his broken neck somehow, but that shouldn't be too tough. A power-ring neckbrace might be in order.

It appears that issues #4 and #5 of Lo3W are coming out the same day (March 25th), according to the DC soLIEcits for March! Isn't that cool everyone???? Two great books to enjoy at the same time! YAY!!! Yeah right, more DiDio BS to keep us buying the useless Legion-related books from now until then.
You know what Dan, screw you! You already screwd us with LOSH #50 so I'm giving it right back. Idiot.

I think DC was just not ready to change the release date for #5... until today, anyhow. Their new (estimated) release date is May 13--seven weeks after #4, which is currently scheduled seven weeks after #3.
I wonder if the May date is a "drop-dead" date for Lo3W, like the end of January was for Final Crisis. At some point, the "repercussions" of this story arc should show up in titles like Flash and GL, as well as Adventure Comics and (perhaps) the Superman titles, so there just MAY be some pressure to get this title done by May.
If there is no pressure, and it really takes 3.5 months to finish each book, this story won't finish until August or September.

is it just me or was perez's art way better during his original teen titans run? maybe it was the inker. his style seems to have changed alot, i think starting with a run on the avengers in the 90s (? chaos magic scarlet witch era) . not tryin to complain, i just remember his art for teen titans and the original crisis as incredible and now it seems sketchy and messy. its still good but..

I also think his art's gone downhill... for exactly the opposite reason. I first noticed with the Wonder Woman/Power Girl team-up issue. (Wasn't paying attention to the Avengers at all.) His art's too slick for me now. I like clean, but not slick. Since this mostly has to do with the shading, there's a good chance it's the inker. (Not that I ever especially liked Perez's art - and it's not him specifically, I just don't generally like Bronze Age styles.)

Thanks! I really hate how Johns writes Lightning Lad.
And do we really need this much Green Lantern crap in a Legion story. How about spending those pages on Legionnaires!

In one panel Monel convinces SY to change his ways. Silver tongued dude.
Honestly I'm not feeling it. There were some parts of I and II I liked but the major focus seems to be to bring GL to Legion time at the expense of the one GL we're really familiar with and like.
I suppose long time fans will suffer it and GL fans will consider it as a new buy. I'm not sure how they will distinguish a GL Corps in the future from the non-Earth one in the present. Tech and civilizations pretty much are depicted the same and I think what makes GL fans, GL fans is affection for one of the various Earth lanterns, not the backstory.

ahhh it doesn't bum me out, all the GL stuff. basic plot is: some of them are fighting people while some of them are running around looking for back up and weapons they can use.
the green lantern rings, in this story, are weapons. easily, they could be "there's some space guy that lives alone on this one planet and has all these cool weapons, go convince him to give them to us".
it's cooler to me that the weapons are not some lame thing he just made up but something that, if i didn't know much about green lanterns, and i don't, i would just think "oh, space weapon, vaguely connected to the past, cool" and if you DO know anything about the green lanterns, it's like "oh hey sodom yat! i know him!"
so it's kind of like... there's more a familiarity to it and as impenetrable as the legion is, i appreciate the different points of entry for the uninitiated.

I have less and less doubt that Mr. Johns is setting up an ongoing Green-Lantern-in-the-31st-century storyline that can take up some space in Adventure Comics with the Legion. I will not begrudge him attempting this, partly because it may help make the Legion a more robust presence in the DC Universe.
