Heh, I vaguely remember that scene;

Violet - "What are you doing?"
Blok (hands to temples, concentrating) - "I am attempting to make sure that none of the rocks we are destroying are sentient."
Violet - [looks non-plussed] "You're one of a kind, Blok."
Blok - (lowering his hands) "On this world, that seems to be true."

It looks like the Time Trapper has been messing with the scheduling. Lo3W #3 is scheduled for Jan. 14, while #4 is scheduled for Dec. 24. Let me just say...huh?

That's crazy scheduling. Three months between #2 and #3? Has Perez had his arms chewed off by wolves?

Ever get the impression that a comic was being written by the message boards? This one seemed to too closely address some of the complaints on the boards, particularly the "redemption" and the "whiney" character of prime.

even so, this issue I found MUCH more intriguing than the first even with the disappointment of it being used to shill a John's character at the loss of a much better one. Having read part of the thread I knew the deed that was going to be done and it was set up well but then done unimaginatively. Prime is a bore.

Even so, from Universo's comment I thought it was setting up something with Rond's Child as the hero to be but then that wannabe (with a mohawk lol) showed up. I did appreciate the ring's search and was excited about the pile of rings and the mysterious hand but if I hadn't made the mistake of picking up Sinestro War I wouldn't have had any idea who Yat is. I don't totally object, it had potential but the mohawk just totally wiped out the mood.

I hate it when terrific issues end so badly for me.

Hey, Vee! Do you have any idea if it's actually George Perez who's holding this up? Or, are they just trying to drag it out until a replacement 4boot can be started? Any connections? Ideas?
Thanks.

It has nothing to do with Perez. Geoff is really behind on supplying the scripts to George. At least that's what George said when I ran into him at my CBS.

My understanding is that it was intended to be bimonthly. However, Geoff has so many irons in the fire right now he's been really slow in providing the scripts for George. George said he even asked Geoff to send him parts as he finished them so George could get started on the pencilling.

That being said, I suspect that coordinating between all the titles has something to do with this also. There may well be something in the main title that has to happen or in Rage of the Red Lanterns before they can follow up with something in LO3W.

I think the official excuse was that his power was 'super-density.' The fact that 'super-density' ended up equalling super-strength + invulnerability, which were already pretty common power sets, was waved away.

I think Sodam Yat is just some prankters creation so that he can sneak the word 'sodomy' in a comic book every month.

Which brings up something I've wondered about: if Superman were to convert to Judaism, how would he get circumcized?

I cannot offer a guess as to which version of the Legion will be left standing after issue #5 comes out (I re-read the Lightning Saga and Action comics stories once again looking for more clues to entice)... but I can tell you that the DC management probably won't anti-climax the ending by just making this new Legion simply be Johns' vision of his recent Legion adventures (that is the classic legionnaires). That would be boring, too preditable, and just plain disrespectful of the two other reboots since.
So I await with great expectations some awesome unexpected fate/reset for each of our beloved heroes.
Somehow, during this 50th anniversary of these much endering and enduring characters, I doubt DC will disappoint us once all the smoke clears.

Heck we even have live action versions of Rokk,Imra and Garth appearing soon on Smallville (story written by Johns btw) to add to all the anniversary celebration. I believe this is a first for TV and a loooooong time in coming! That's gotta mean something, right? The Legion means something to DC, not just to all of us.

Oh and Super"somebody" will most probably be a regular in the new comic as well. smile

I don't doubt it one bit. I'll be surprised if we're not disappointed.

Well according to the movie, Superman II, he already is. In the scene where he's flying away from Niagara Falls, a woman is heard in the background saying, "Well, OF COURSE, he's Jewish!" laugh

The same way he shaves, with reflected heat vision? "Yowtch!"

Kryptonians (and Daxamites) must have *insane* levels of control over their muscles. They don't (except on Smallville) sneeze buildings down, or belch and take out a city block or fart and blast a hole in the chair. The dude can make his breath come out fast enough to smash down a wall. Imagine what must happen when he's had to hold it awhile and he's *really* gotta go? He must destroy more toilets that way...

My Mom loves that scene! As a Jewish mother, she truly appreciated it.

It was Sun Boy actually (while searching for the team stranded on the asteroid).

For what it's worth, as a Green Lantern fan, that last image had a somewhat different impact on me. Sodam Yat had a one panel mention/appearance in an Alan Moore short GLC story waaaay back in the 80's where he was described as the "Ultimate Green Lantern" and the last to fall. He also wore the uniform he sports in Lo3W and though he was much more muscular in the short, he had a similar haircut.

So for me, it was kinda cool to see things come back around to that old story that first introduced Yat.

^^^ Do you mean that reference to a prior adventure involving them?

It was established somewhere or other (The Lighning Saga maybe?) that the different Legions had all met each a long time ago when they were all young in an as yet undocumented adventure.

Not sure where or how or why they've added this wrinkle to the teams' histories (other than because it could make a fun story) but I'm sure we'll probably see more about it some day.

YK, do you mean the new Tornado Twins who were brought back with Wally? Or the old Tornado Twins who were the parents of Bart and Jenni?

I know nothing about the new ones...
