Hey! I just thought of an idea about what Wildfire, Dawnstar and Polar Boy are up to in the 21st century.

They're traveling back to Infinite Crisis #3 (I think).

Once there, they will meet Superboy-Prime before he confronts Kon-El and invite him to come to the 31st century and join their club.

Since this is before Prime lost control and wiped out a bunch of Titans, Prime is still basically sane and thinks of himself as a good guy. So he'd go for it. And the whole problem would be solved.

Of course, a) if it worked it wouldn't be much of a story, b) it would wipe out a lot of history that Johns probably doesn't want wiped out, and c) it just doesn't seem to fit. I think it's a neat idea though.

A simpler guess would be that they're going to the moment of Kon-El's death and pull the ol' switcheroo the way they did to rescue Karate Kid from his original death. I wouldn't be surprised if that one was actually the case.

Terrus...he appeared only in the Baxter edition of LSH #1 to 5 way back in early 80s. (the issue also spotlighted the death of Karate Kid and the mercy killing of Nemesis Kid)

If you want the definition of "hack," take a look in the dictionary: there's a picture of Judd Winick! [/b]
In lieu of being hated forever, I'd say Judd is a great dialoguer. But he has not a single clue about setups and where to go.
In fact, in my dictionary, there is a long line of Chuch Dixon books. Along with Legion on the Run and Reboot.

Saturn Queen's a little hottie! I've never actually liked the look of the character until the SupermanBatman story with the LSV but Perez's version is even better. Love love love the cheerleader skirt.

I just reread #2-- it really was a treat seeing Dawnstar, Wildfire, Blok and White Witch in action again. Almost makes up for no Dream Girl, Element Lad, Tellus and Chemical King of any version.

I missed something the first time around-- in the panel where Brainy gives White Witch the crystal, he squeezes her hand in comfort for a moment.

That makes up for any mad scientist/egoist remarks later on, completely!!

Also, I was struck by Lightning Lad's reaction to Superman's 'isolation' excuse for Superboy-Prime. I wonder if this Garth's been through some sort of similar experience?

No way Mordru is going to remain a happy little soldier in the LSV. Expect a takeover any moment. If Universo doesn't get there first. Or Tharok. Or Emerald Empress.

The continued missing status of Dream Girl, Element Lad, Bouncing Boy, the surviving Luornu (I think there is one or two, isn't there?) and Cham is telling, isn't it?

Even if Brainy, etc. don't know where they are, or have any plans about them, you can bet with Nura involved that there's some rescue/intervention/flanking movement ahead.

Either those characters will arrive at just the right moment, or they'll swoop in leading a charge of Wanderers, Heroes of Lallor, Academy students, etc.

Cham might've already infiltrated the LSV, for all we know (though I suspect such a move would've occurred after Rond's death).

Now that Superman was Superboy and a Legionnaire again, there was no pocket universe Superboy, was there? So Lournu's 2nd body wouldn't have been killed avenging him, would she?

I'm so confused. I don't know what happened and what didn't anymore. Ding dong DC idiots. What a mess they've made of everything.

Right.

Plus I suspect that the Luornu that went back in time and died in Countdown was the same one who was killed by Computo way back when, but rescued for the sake of this mission the same way Karate Kid was. And if I'm right about that, that means retroboot Luornu still has two bodies.

If this were a Legion comic, I would have less doubt about something like this happening. As it is, Mr. Johns has introduced a lot to any non-legion readers already. So, I've been expecting the missing legionnaires to lead in to whatever story follows L3W. And Wildfire says there's a dozen of them; any thoughts on the full list?

I must be having WAY too much fun enjoying this book to notice all the continuity errors that have other people all a-twitter, because the only thing that's bugging me about it is the yellow symbol on Jo's chest that should be GREEN! Grrrr.

This is a great story (IMO)! And George Perez is once again showing us why he is as well respected and admired in the industry and community as he is! The man is a pencilling behemoth! And he was born to draw this team! On a parallel earth of paradise George Perez has drawn every Legion story ever! Take me there please, crystal ball!

P.S. I do reserve the right to change my mind re: the story though if it starts becoming the Sodam Yat or Bart Allen show, or if any Action Legionnaires die.

I'm loving it right now but Geoff Johns stories do have a habit of turning on me.

I assumed they were going back to recruit 21st C characters: Kara, Thom (and maybe even Pete and Lana!? Maybe not), and maybe Inferno.

That would be AWESOME! Didn't Perez say somewhere that he was going to include every Legionnaire ever? That means he has to include Kara! And hopefully the others too!

I'm with Blacula in having too much fun with the book to get all hung up on the adjusted characterization and continuity. I've only read issue 2 once, so I look forward to slowing down and looking closer. It's dream art!

But... what about the 5YL Eve? Man did she rock-- especially drawn during Giffen's "big chick lips" phase!

I don't think the characterization is a hack job. I think Geoff has his reasons. He is trying to reintroduce the Legion to new readers. Sure I hate seeing Garth act like that and again what are the younger Garth's going to act like? But I think he has his reasons for everything and isn't doing a hack job.[/b]
Agreed. I choose to maintain my personal "Garth as a family man at heart" characterization and add to it a 'need to act all Billy Badass for the team' disclaimer.

At the least we'll be able to use the swear words to figure which Legion is which.

"Tinya! Did you hear what that sprockin little underaged, undersized twerp said to me? He said 'florg.' ... What's that mean?"

Nope. That's Phantom Girl's hand. You can see the cuff and seam of her glove. And he's holding her hand as part of the seance.

Jimmy Olsen shows us statues of the 14 missing Legionnaires in part 1. Since then Mon-El and White Witch have been recovered, leaving an even dozen:

Quislet
Karate Kid
Bouncing Boy
Tyroc
Dream Girl
Sensor Girl
Star Boy
Matter Eater Lad
Tellus
Chameleon Boy
Duo Damsel
Element Lad

Obviously Karate Kid will not be joining us any time soon. Doubtful that Star Boy will either. Hard to believe they're going to call in such big guns as Duo Damsel and Matter Eater Lad but who knows?

Question: Why isn't 3boot Sun Boy present with the rest of the 3boot team? He hasn't shown up lately in the Legion's book either. Where is he?

When did Magnetic Kid die? Wasn't it after Emerald Empress? Shouldn't he still be alive if she is?

Of the missing Legionnaires Chameleon Boy and Element Lad intrigue me the most - which is strange 'cause they're two of my least faves but anyway I digress -

Element Lad - because it's unusual for such a heavy-hitting, fan-favourite, main-stay member as he is to be absent in a story like this.

and

Chameleon Boy - as another missing main-stay member but also because he has a history of sneakiness; and the fact that Johns has made a point of specifically mentioning him means we'll definitely see him make a surprise appearance in a later issue (possibly undercover as a member of the LSV?).

I'd love to see Tyroc show up too but I won't hold my breath for that one.
