I too would like to know the Timetrapper's motivations for wanting to wipe out the Legion. It seems to me that an entity such as he would be above such petty concerns. If I could control time, a bunch of brightly clad teenagers running around the galaxy doing good deeds a gazillion years in the past would be SO completely beneath my notice. But that's just me.

I'd be more concerned with whisking an Orkin man out of the time stream to get rid of those cockroaches. Although if I could control time, I'd think I could just zap those roaches back to the stone age without even working up a sweat.

Presumably it is not the Legion per se but the legacy of what they achieve - just like Superman.

OK it is hard to imagine a legacy that lasts millions of years but it could be the butterfly affect, that the Legion set in motion a string of events that causes the TT to have problems/less power whatever even at the end of time.

Of course why he didn't turn each Legionnaire to slime at the age of three is probably a question best not asked.

I've never figured that out either. Maybe I should reread the Legion of Super Babies to look for a clue.
He sure as heck slimed Glorith in that one.

Maybe at some point, the Legion's presence ends up saving the entire timeline from collapsing upon itself. Once time itself ended, the Time Trapper might be;

A) freed of his existence, which he loathes, or

B) get to ride out the collapse of our universe in his time-pocket and *shape the newly forming universe in his own image!*

And it would have happened already, if not for those meddling kids and their damn Kryptonian!

One answer: Dynamo Boy. And he will take the LSV as a bonus, for leaving him there at the end of time.

If the no sleeves look is popular in 3008, does that mean Larry the Cable Guy is the most popular comedian of the 31st century?

Because they have directly attacked (and possibly broken once or twice?) his Iron Curtain of Time. Therefore they represent an immediate threat to his security measures, or whatever plans he had for having the Iron Curtain there.

I REALLY hope Dynamo Boy never again sees the light of day. His first appearance was a very low point of Legion story writing, which I believe should be stricken from the record for it's many ridiculous inaccuracies in the Legionnaires' portrayals and all around unbelievable plot.

Having him turn out to be the Timetrapper would be SO disappointing. IMHO of course. :-)

But it would be soooo Geoff Johns-ish...

So L3W #1 cracked Top 20 at the 20th place on Diamond sales. And Legion is up to 96th. I see LSH soon reaching L3W in sales... smile

FYI-Legion of 3 Worlds #2 is now listed on DC's site as shipping on October 15th, not October 1st as previously noted. I get JSA also, and #18 was out the last week of August and #19 is Oct. 15th. Why put out so many books if they can't possibly deliver?????

What stages does a book need to go through after solicitation? Is the artwork complete at that stage? if not how can DC or any publisher, know when the book will be ready. Solicitations are just appetisers but as far as dates are concerned are no more than best guesses.

Perhaps a book shouldn't be solicited until it is inked and coloured and at the printers?

I’ve been thinking about how weird Brainy has been acting in this LO3W/Lightning Saga/Action storyline. To me Brainy has been acting particularly Un-Brainiac-ly excitable. So I have a theory. What if when Brainy looked into the lightening rod he didn’t just see some Flashes past, what if he also saw a possible way to bring back Supergirl. Maybe this is what has got him acting so strange and so smug as in “I’m going to re-administer the Anti-Lead Serum that I—and I alone—created”. Maybe he finally sees a way to bring his long-lost love back and he—and he alone—sees this possibility. So he is playing out the string as it were, facilitating and/or allowing the events to unfold that will finally see the return of the one true Supergirl.
Or, on the other hand, perhaps the redemption of Superboy-Prime will be the reversal of the events that occurred in COIE that lead to the deaths of so many including Barry Allen and Supergirl.
Do you see a bit of a pattern here? In my mind, if this Final Crisis doesn’t lead to the return of Kara Zor-El and finally unite her with Brainiac 5 in the 31st century I will be thoroughly disappointed.

So what.

Geoff Johns in www.comicblocs mentioned that the preview of L3W #2 will be coming up soon.

when solicits come out, usually the inside artwork is NOT done. sometimes it is, and that's great but usually not because the artist needs that time to do the pages. the artists all have a due date for all their stuff to be in. sometimes if stuff is running late the letterer will do lettering and bubble placement on top of the pencils. the solicits work off of the due dates, so sometimes they're wrong if like, someone gets sick or injured, or if something needs to be redrawn at the last moment, or you know, if the pages are more complicated.

solicits come out early because stores have to figure out if they're going to order more of a certian issue (variant covers, for example), and to make me freak out.

example of early solicits working on my tiny monkey brain: i am utterly depressed by the shooter run. but one of the solicits has querl and nura being adorable on it and a promise of a marriage proposal. so instead of dropping the book, i'm going to suffer through. now if that solicit didn't exist, i would probably not be paying attention when it did come out.

Me too. I actually just decided to stop buying the book. I couldn't make myself read the last couple issues and just didn't bother picking up the latest one. Legion of 3 Worlds will have to satisfy my Legion fix for the time being.

For me it is almost the opposite: Shooter's run is so good I am actually downloading it illegally (ops) because I can't wait for 2 months before it arrives in Brazil (I subscribe to it, so there is no loss). He is the single reason threeboot is finally worth it - for giving LSH a different direction with real development, not a rehash of an old book.
And I am definitely more interested in it than on L3W, which is a nice Superman story so far, hardly a true Legion book.

I'm interested in both titles but I concur with Ricardo (saravá, meu amigo): Shooter's run is gaining momentum and I actually can't wait for the next issue to come out. I did'n feel this way about Legion since the DnA run.

I would even go as far as to say that Shooter has - with the newest issue - already surpassed the DnA run, which to me was by far the best part of Reboot history. I just like the dynamics. But it is possible that it is due to Waids abysmal storytelling before that now, I am so very thankful for Shooters writing that I am interpreting the huge difference as great storywriting on Shooters part. Is this possible? Am I making sense?

I still prefer DnA. And I don't think Shooter has improved on Waid's portrayal of the Legion so much as simplified it. Although Shooter is doing a couple of things well that Waid wasn't doing much.

I don't think so, I really think Shooter is doing a much better job than most of us are willing to accept especially due to the nature of the 3boot. I didn't think Waid was that abysmal (I can always relate to Legion on the Run or End of an Era for that), just a little bit same-y, a bit like any other comic book.

A bit like "I haven't got a story to tell but wouldn't it be cool if the Legion was back to their old codenames? Ah well, let's fight them a villains whose power is that nobody remembers him. Isn't that ironic?" in my book. I recently reread it. It's astonishing how he sold DC on that concept.

Ah well, so Shooter is the man right now. But I think that Johns is just the right man to follow in his footsteps, cause he showed he can do glorious revivals over at JSA and Green Lantern. I would be more anxious if they would have put someone like Meltzer or McDuffie on the book. Or Grant "I won't show you what happened you have to figure it out for yourself in the Internet" Morrison...

I really can't see McDuffie or Meltzer on Legion. Or in any book. I am probably getting old, but they are really weak comic writers. Though Morrison would be interesting to see, but he has never tackled such a long team before.
