I want your alibi on my desk and I want it now.

EVERYONE'S A SUSPECT.

Someone around here is a murderer most foul, and you cannot hide your evil stench from the nasal cavities of Justice! Be warned. You WILL be found.

I was busy setting up stuff in the Mainframe in case the "Priestess" didn't stop attacking LW.

And hell, I let Yellow drag me along on his Smallville "try to resurrect Faraway" trip to stop him doing a Hal Jordan on the timestream.

What you SHOULD be asking is "why didn't Faraway auto-teleport away with the FA Force?"

I've been locked up on Medicus until this morning. Gyml and those accursed Daxamites wouldn't let me leave without a complete checkup. They wouldn't even let me access my porn stash or hyperpath any hot chicks.

"Compassionate Aliens" my aa....aaand they were pretty thurough. Yeah, that's it.

Reboot, I'd appreciate it if you'd keep my office up to date on your investigation.

Where the heck is 3G?

DON'T. SCARE. ME. LIKE. THAT. EVER. AGAIN.

I mean it.

Put a disclaimer in the thread title.

I really thought Darden was dead for a minute.

Grey, you REALLY think someone would announce a real, genuine, real-world death with the obviously-parodic "Where were YOU the night N was killed"?

Prime's investigation, not mine smile

I figured you'd be halfway to a solution before the rest of even knew about the mystery.

Never mind updating the office then.
-you know where to hyperpath me-

I know KP didn't mean that to happen. I'm sorry we upset you buddy.

Sorry Graybird, I just never thought anyone would take such a title seriously.

Rest assured Darden is fine he and I are sitting waiting for the plane to take us to New York.

No harm done, folks, fortunately, but this ended up being a problem for me on other occasions ...

[Reboot]
{ Grey, you REALLY think someone would announce a real, genuine, real-world death with the obviously-parodic "Where were YOU the night N was killed"? }

Yes. I've seen my own "death" announced twice in as flippant a manner by some damned idjits. This was on the older Bulletin Board Systems (pre-Web) in the late '80s. Several people I knew well in Chicago took it seriously until I could get on line to disabuse them of the notion.

It's better to not take such chances. Someone could get more than an anger or anxiety attack at such news about someone they know. I've heard of it inducing heart attacks.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Greybird here. There are subjects wth which you have to be very careful with. Death isn't funny.

Technology, inherent power, or magic. All three are equally possible, wouldn't you agree?

Which, contrary to your implication, I have never attempted to hide.

This is where I become confused - I have no "history of attacking" anyone, I deplore personal violence. If you are referring to the Viviane-directed Cobalt clones that were ravaging Legion World, I hardly consider them "innocent," and those were the only clones I could have said to have attacked.

As for "chipping," I've "chipped" precisely one person - Cobalt, with the built-in teleporter, since LegionWorld is in no condition for another daemon invasion, such as he was inviting, so soon after Viviane's attacks. And that didn't have to be a "chip" - I merely found it ironic to tag him with something which could be described as such.

Expect a letter from my solicitor shortly unless I recieve a fulsome apology for this libellous implication forthwith.

Now that you mention it, my chest did tighten a bit when I realized I still need to clean for Darden and GiGi's (now still-)impending visit to Chez Pov... wink

It's a most solemn occasion when we see a hero struck down. Sometimes I fear for the rest of us when a member as powerful as Faraway can fall to the dark forces that surround us on all sides. It's time for us to come together and remember the hero that was one of us for so long.

Recrimnations can wait, blame can be assigned tomorrow, the mission to hunt down a hero killer will begin soon but for the moment we ought to turn our thoughts to our comrade. GiGi has need of our strenghts and our heartfelt affection.

Well, that and we can start the wake at Shakes as soon as we lay our companion to rest.

You see, the thing is, I'm starting to be convinced of the possibility that Faraway Lad might not be dead.

Or at least very nearly dead. Where's Miracle Max?!?

Well, medically, he's not dead. I mean, if all that port and ale hasn't done him in yet, I don't think there's much that he can't withstand...

This is true, but even if he's not dead, there still may be an attempted killer on the loose.

That there definately is! And he must be found! We have every reason to believe this killer might actually be a traitor from the ranks of the LMB itself!

*gasp!*

Well, there was that time you had me beaten with a giant boxing glove because I told a joke. You made it rather clear you wanted to inflict some pain.

And just recently you thought you had turned me into a chihuahua, again because I told a joke.

Is there evidence for this that didn't come from any prophecy-type writings or hallucinatory journeys?
