In the picture of the legion reboot 2 I can see Garth and Jam like separate characthers. But ...both died in Legion Lost 12. They must been Jarth or no?

Good catch! I know that was the ultimate intent of DnA, but if they are going to do that off-panel, they may as well return Zoe back to normal, too...

Another DCU0 review: http://savagecritic.com/2008/05/stone-cold-sober-as-matter-of-fact.html I must've been possessed by the Great Cornholio to think I could make sense of DC UNIVERSE ZERO. Never in my entire life have I ever felt so excluded by a comic book - they might as well have stamped "THIS IS NOT FOR YOU" on the cover. Look, maybe it's me. Maybe I'm the only person who expects a #0 issue (not even #1! #0! Before the beginning!) to actually present the starting point of a story, as opposed to trailers of stories that are already in progress. Is that an unfair expectation? I mean, am I wrong to think DC wants to attract new readers? Because the message I'm getting from DC UNIVERSE ZERO is that, if I haven't been following the 80-something-part storyline that's been threading through the entire DCU line for the past... what's it been now, two years? Three? If I haven't been doing that, I've got no business reading DC comics for the foreseeable future. CRAP, because I'm sick of wasting time and money trying to figure out the DCU for the sake of a decent story.

I'm betting the second issue's cover is going to have some variation of that with the villains.

BTW, the girl you're referring to as Catspaw is Kinetix (sadly, still) in that (stupid) "Terrorform" state, and the Alchemist in that image is (if they're sticking with the last known appearance in reboot Legion continuity) Garth's mind in the body of Element Lad (who did not call himself Alchemist in the reboot, that was in the pre-boot SW6 version).

Hmm, scratch that - I see Garth separately. So obviously, there are some new developments.

Yeah, I was trying to remember the exact variations of the names in the various boots. I have to change Catspaw to Kinetix, Phase to Apparition and apparently that Jan should be an E-Lad. (Progenitor?)

If I recall - Jan and Garth were "separated" last seen in Infinite Crisis where Shikari found the Lost Legion and rejoin them...I think somewhere in #3 or #4? Maybe #6?

Thanks for the O'Brien post Reeboot (yeah, I'm a little late to the party forgive me for having a life). Even if it seems like stuff like that goes more or less ignored by the majority of posters.
This feels in many respects like the whole death of Superman fiasco that almost singlehandedly ended the comics industry as we know them. An oversold crapfest of a comic "extravaganza" -based on ridiculous speculation and flashy flair- if ever there is one. On one hand I understand why DC keeps pulling s**t like this. It makes them a shit-ton money. Some fans will buy anything no matter how insipid or contrived, half-assed writing and sub-par art will not deter them as long as they get a fix of their favorite character. I pretty much stopped reading mainstream comics back in '88-'90 after so many cross-over crises and "secret" wars and then that Superman thing to top it all off. It occurred to me that the companies producing comics cared seemingly little for the comics themselves but they sure do love money.
Rather than concentrate on actually producing quality work, that might actually draw-in new readers, DC (and Marvel for that matter) choose to make everything even more insular and milk every last penny out of the fanboys they already have who are apparently willing to buy anything. Basically, they have a built-in readership who may bitch and moan on occasion but they will keep buying the goods and anything associated with them. Pandering to the least common denominator does nothing to enhance the medium as a viable art-form (which it certainly can be) instead it reduces it to a silly product meaningless to anyone not "in the know" Anyone remember "pogs"?
I'm not saying that good comics never get produced by the big companies. That's obviously not the case but I fail to understand why readers continue to fall for these "greatest cross-over of all time (no, totally not like that one last time, no, that one sucked this one's gonna be grrrrrrrreat! Yeah, you have to buy it in order to know what's going on in your favorite book but it'll tooootally be worth it)" scams.
Is that a moon?

Given that Geoff Johns has made the 'original' Legion so much part of Superman's past, is it safe to assume that they will survive? But with other survivors from the two other Legions? So we could end up with:
Classic/Adult Legion
Dawnstar Wildfire Chameleon Girl Colossal Boy Night Girl Lightning Lass Invisible Kid II Lightning Lad Polar Boy Timber Wolf Shadow Lass Saturn Girl Phantom Girl Sun Boy Ultra Boy Brainiac 5 Cosmic Boy Shrinking Violet Blok White Witch (if DC Universe 0 is to be believed)
I would also expect the other LLegionnaires that have been in Lightning Saga or the Action arc (even as statues) to make the cut so
Element Lad Chameleon Boy Matter-Eater Lad Bouncing Boy Dream Girl Sensor Girl
Then from the Reboot Legion
Kinetix Shikari Andromeda Kid Quantum II XS Ferro Gear Gates
from the Current Legion
Mon-El (who is the same as the 'classic') Triplicate Girl Karate Kid Invisible Kid (Lyle Norg)
Any thoughts?
"Our devotion to each other was unexplainable" "You were kids" "No Batman, we were Legion"

Now that looks like a good start to this series. I love Superboy/Man Prime. The Time Trapper is just so fun to see again, and he/she/it looks and sounds more menacing that ever.

Newsarama article and forum discussion (courtesy of Superboymddjr) GJ: Sure. I can at least talk about the ones that I'm writing.
NRAMA: The first one is a preview of what's coming in Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds, the mini-series which you are writing. We see Superman fighting, but what's interesting is that we see a group of Legionnaires sitting around a crystal ball.
GJ: Yes, a séance. Familiar readers will recognize that as the same location where the Justice League of Earth-1 first summoned the Justice Society of Earth-2.
NRAMA: So, are the Legion members summoning their counterparts in another world in a similar manner?
GJ: Yes.
NRAMA: And in the next pages, the Legion is fighting Shadow Demons, a scene that is reminiscent of the first Crisis. Is that the feeling you were going for in these pages, since they follow right after the introductory narrative about the three Crises?
GJ: I don't want to get too much into the subtext or the backgrounds or objects within, because people will find that for themselves if they want to. But if you look at the pieces and pull it apart, you see images that hearken back to moments of a crisis. If you look at what Grant's doing, he has touchstones and places and things and locations where the multiverse crossed or that had Crisis in the title of the story. And it started way back when, with the Justice League meeting the Justice Society. And those type of locations are seen throughout Final Crisis. And there's a resonance with all of that going on within the stories. So here is the beginning of it all, with the first time you saw a crisis happen, going all the way to the last time you'll see it in the 31st century.
NRAMA: So in those pages, you're saying that you were echoing the first crisis, but also showing the crisis of the 31st century?
GJ: Full circle. I know that there's quite a bit of debate about the authenticity of this detail and that and the exact timing of certain details (I hadn't even thought about dead/notdead Garth appearing with Sneckie - good catch BB) but.. I'm really excited about being awash in Legion stories. How fun. I almost want to buy the Invasion TPB just to get Lar Gand's "first" appearence. How fun!

Once again it appears that Element Lad may be getting the short end of the stick in this story! I feat that it may have something to do with writers never knowing how to handle his powers!

Actually it is his dad-- Kel Gand. Lar's "first" chronological post-crisis appearance were a few issues of NEW GODS...

The only thing that still bugs me about it is the exact moment Johns decided to "cut into" the 3 teams. He didn't simply get them "after" the stories already told happened: he locked down on whatever time he decided about. Which, in some sense, is like none of these were known LSH teams: he simply grabbed characters from each period. I mean, Brainiac from Action Comics is hardly the same Brainiac from Levitz era. Also, they were never from the 31st century in the first place. Moreover, how do they explain the stories that came AFTER that? Never happened?
What I see here is just a big story with characters from supposedly the 3 eras. Fortunately, when George PĂ©rez says he wants to fit in as many versions of LSH as possible, it might mean we will see Glorith Legion, LSH 1,000,000 and TKMs (maybe even explaining it is a different LSH world from the "classic" lineup). Legion of Earth 2, anyone?

Will you all hate me if I really want to see the Khundish Legionnaires again?
Remember : It's not technically a suckerpunch if you yell ''DEFEND YOURSELF SPROCKER!'' two seconds before you let him have it.
