Ok, what if the new Legion had a few gender switches in this new time line? What if the new founding members were Cosmic Girl, Lightning Lass, and Saturn Lad?

Sorry about leaving out Micro Lad and Light Lad. I guess I was concentrating on the more "classic" couples.

I had to come up with a female version of Brainiac 5, so I chose to twist it around and I got Brianica 5. FYI: It wasn't a typo..pronounced like Bree-on-ica, if that makes sense.

I just thought it would be very possible that the gender of some of the Legionnaires may be reversed in the new series. I thought it would be a really cool twist and something very new.

This is pretty interesting, when you see that many gender-reversed possibilities together. Usually, we just discuss one at a time here.

I really liked the idea of Dream Boy - would he have a "ditzy" portrayal as Nura once did? He could be a new age type, or a beach bum. Karate Queen also - we don't see that many female martial artists. Of course, I also went for Brianica 5, since I've thought Brainy should have a hidden sibling somewhere. However, I don't think Coluans would bother with gender-determined titles, so she'd just be another Brainiac.

The other fun aspect to this is all the couples - for some reason, I never realized how many strong guys-"not strong" girl relationships they had. Supergirl/Andromeda-Brainy was the only one, I think. But when you see the roles reversed ...

why are all the couples still straight?

(oh, and as for female martial artists in the DCU -off the top of my head - White Lotus, Cheshire, Lady Shiva, Batgirl, Oracle, Black Canary, Katana -- yes, overwhelmingly Asian -- sigh)
