You can't make these bits of ambrosia in the microwave, dammit all!
I can't get our landlord to fix the gas oven. It has no real temperature control, it "sticks" in trying to get going in the first place, so baking cannot be guaranteed.
Thank the marketing gods for DiGiorno Microwave Pizza, or I'd be sorely bereft. And in hock to Pizza Hut. Delivery is divine decadence, but, oh, does it cost if you do it too often. Though I always get two Large, Two Toppings Each on Academy Award night.

They've got it rigged so that getting two pizzas at a go just makes more sense.
Not that I'm complaining. Mmmm, pizza.....

Perhpas you should inquire of Quislet Esq. whether the landlord's refusal to fix the oven breaches the warranty of habitability. It would seem so to me.

They don't "refuse," they've just promised to do so and never come through. I'm inclined to let it go. My brother and I rarely want to bake anything, and pizza (DiGiorno and Celeste nukeables aside) is better as a special delivered treat. The microwave is far more versatile, anyway. Ralphs' and Vons' bakeries do well by my bread jones.
And besides, we've planned to move ... for two years now *sigh* ... but the rent is still reasonable.

Not as good as freshly baked home made pastries, I'm afraid... What is it with people? Pillsbury is ok most of the time, but it's nothing like REAl cooking

Let's settle this once and for all, Paris & dedman: You send me some freshly baked pasteries; talkingcrows: send chocolate chip cookies; Miner & Grey: you can send the pizza; and TD, Semi and the others send the Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. I'll perform the taste test and let you all know the results!

It's that kind of go-get 'em attitude that I hope to one day emulate, Vee!

I wish I could send you some fantastic fresh croissants fresh from the bakery (even using Fed Ex to make sure they keep fresh as much as possible). However, even without the US customs probably impounding them because they're a fresh French produce (health regulations, eh), they would be at least 24 hours old by the time they get to you and wouldn't be considered fresh anymore by French standards ;-) I could also come to your house and cook, but you'd have to pay for the flights LOL

[/QB] I feel your pain - we just spent $80 for a new igniter for our oven. We cook a lot though so it was pretty much a bullet we had to bite and there isn't any landlord. I might add that I will forever love Pillsbury Cinnamon rolls. I could eat a whole roll of them myself and sometimes used to. Now I have to share with the family. Bah!
