Spellbinder's thoughts: Originally posted by Spellbinder: Well, I don't know how formal a mission statement we've ever had, but according to:
[b]LMBP Yahoo Group: "Welcome to the Yahoo!Group home of the Legion of Message Board Posters. Drawn together by our love of the Legion, held together by our friendship and mutual respect. All are welcome here, but please play nice."
and LMBP Outpost: "Welcome to the LMBP Outpost, the Internet home and headquarters of the Legion of Message Board Posters! We were drawn together by a love of DC's Legion of Super-Heroes, but it's the friendships we've forged that keep us together. Feel free to look around, and click on the links to your left to explore the Outpost galleries and files, as well as the links to our personal Yahoo!Group and the exciting Legion World message board!. If you love the Legion of Super-Heroes, then you're in the right place. Enjoy!"
So, in reality I view the LMBP as a collection of people, most of whom are fans of the Legion of Super-Heroes, who are drawn together in their search for a place to share their thoughts and common interests with others without fear of censure if they are "off topic", provided that they are respectful of others when doing so.
In LMBP continuity, I feel that the LMBP was formed by fans of the Legion of Super-Heroes. Over time, they have attracted other fans and (perhaps) social and heroic misfits who use their powers and abilities to fight for justice throughout the universe and on their adopted homeworld, Legion World. We will return to the discussion on LMB Leader momentarily (which in internet terms means probably this afternoon or tomorrow ) but does anyone have any comments or anything else they would like to add on what the LMB means to them? Oh, and I'm taking the above two posts by Tamper and Luna as a motion and second that we begin work on the official LMB song once we finish up with these two little boogers. That sounds like hilarious fun!

Agree on the song! Glad to see you forging forward with the ‘Mission Statement’ notion too, KP.

She yells back at her brother "Because it isn't green!" She storms off and Linus looks up to the sky and says "That just shows how stupid I am. I thought there would be a more complicated reason!" Just some levity.
The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

Something else else possibly like this?
We The Sentients, the heroic misfits of the LMBP, drawn together in our search for a place to share our thoughts and common interests without fear of censure, have come together to celebrate being both "on-topic" and "off -topic," to cherish the friendships we've forged that keep us together, and of course to use our powers and abilities to fight for justice throughout the universe and on our adopted homeworld, Legion World! Being also drawn together by our love of the Legion of Super-Heroes, we take a pro-active stance on involving others in Legion fandom, in doing any tiny little bit it takes to help increase the profile of the current comic book by bringing in new fans and showing them what a cool concept the Legion is--in all forms, thus actively continuing to immerse people in the fun. In all our interactions, we strive to maintain the highest respect and honor for all others and their wondrous, beautiful diversity, for it is diversity that makes our world and universe so immeaurably strange, complex, and beautiful. The LMBP means means friendship and doing away with internet formalities, and creating a real community of friends online, that have a common goal of loving the Legion. But it means so much more: the Legion has long ago become a small portion of that. It means being a place to come when you feel like you've got nowhere else to go, to discuss the various things that interest you, and it means you've decided that above all else, its much more important that everyone is having a good time together, in mutual respect, admiration, and love, without fear of censure. All are welcome here, but please play nice. Oh, and we do ordain and establish this Constitution for the Legion Of Message Boards Posters!

MISTER CHAIR,
I RISE on a point of personal privilege. I am extremely disturbed the the flashing of boobies in this thread. I demand that the delegates opposing my song be expelled from the convention for conduct unbecoming of this institution.

I don't care if its stopped, (actually I quite like boobies) but I just want the delegates expelled so I can win a vote.

The delegates will please desist from showing their boobies. Unless they're in the pool, which I am now designating as the official Convention Booby-ful Zone.
