I need to ask you for your support for our proposals. Of course I know that they will will never be accepted but at the critical juncture of this convention, I will issue an ultimatum.
When it is rejected we will storm out of the convention and proclaim an LMB scientocracy based on an 18 point manifesto.

Well the three minimum points...
I also need allies to obfuscate the situation by demanding very unreasonable amendments. This will cause the situation to break down.
After the reading of the manifesto supporters will leave the convention en masse. The new regime will reward its supporters with your choice of powerful position or sinecure.

So, let's review:
I'm being asked to throw my support behind a plan, the details of which I don't even know, much less the basics.
I am being asked to do this by someone who attempted to marry me off against my will and who argued that I was essentially property.
Said person is asking me to do this in defiance of the people who have thrown their support behind me, in an attempt to dismantle a social structure that has treated me pretty well all told.
Do I have the gist of things here?
