We can also have a pre-convention meeting of Legion Worlders on Thursday night I'm probably up for Thursday night... I'll know better as we get closer to THE weekend. Does anyone know if Ferroboy or Loser are still coming? that will determine whether I'm coming by road or rail.

Really? There is an actual bar called Cheers? Thought that was just a figment of the sitcom writers imagination...

Well there is a bar there, they used an actual street scene for Cheers. The bar's not actually called Cheers though, and it's just a little place doesn't look like the interior set. I can't recall the name right this instant.
At the time I visited some time back it was quite a tourist location.

Maybe a lot of chicks expecting to be hit on by a hunky Sam look-alike?

Somebody must have gotten the rights to the name because I've seen "Cheers" bars from time to time, mostly in airports.

If I remember correctly, the actual name of the bar is the Bullfinch Pub.

My friend Jim and I stopped in at the Bullfinch years ago on a daytrip to Boston. It's a tourist pit more than a pub. Buy the Cheers shirts, get a Cheers pilsner when you buy an inflated 20-oz draft. Feh. The food was alright, but the prices were steep. And not just city-steep.

I've never heard anything but disappointment with Bullfinch, and the Cheers franchise is Just another Chain... there's even one in a little skiing town near me. I've never felt deprived for missing either one; Boston's full of cool places; I'd rather avoid these pits... as a compromised, tho, I'd be willing to do a group photo at the Bullfinch exterior. And Vee.... DON'T let it happen again, or the External Affairs (tm) Directorate will launch a most thorough investigation of your role in that unseemly CHEESE incident. I do have the photos, BTW.

KENT!
I'm trying to answer the PM you sent me, but your inbox is full. I'm still going, and I'd enjoy the company for the ride. Clear out some space in your PM box and we can work out the details.

Actually it is the Bull & Finch. But they also go by Cheers now.
The outside is just like the TV show. the inside is not.

Sorry LOU! Didn't realize there was a max... it's only taken me 20 months to reach it!
I made some room, but don't just ask me to delete all those steamy PMs I got from Miss T last year!

At least close your mailbox when you're gone. I can hardly see my way to MY mailbox with all that steam in the mailroom

four weeks and counting!
Or 27 days and counting, if you assume we're all meeting up Thursday the 28th.
Or 26 days if you don't read this until Saturday.
Or 25 if... never mind. I'll stop now.

*I'm just here to assure you all that I, Queen Connie, am doing everything in my power to ensure that my human, Vee, is back safe and sound in time to complete his journey up to that place you call Boston. He is scheduled to arrive about 3 hours after my dinner time on the day you refer to as Thursday and will be returning to LW on the day you refer to as Sunday shortly after I awake from my regularly scheduled mid afternoon nap.
Assuming he has made arrangements for some other human to provide me my cream and tuna at the alloted times, I have agreed to allow him to make this journey.

Vee trusts me implicitly enough to make sure that your cream and imported tuna will be at your side when you need them, Connie
