For those who are also looking for a hotel near the subway:

Here is a link to the MBTA.
MBTA Trip Planner

Put in the address of where you are thinking of staying and then 100 Mount Vernon St Dorchester (for the Bayside Expo) It will then tell you what the nearest T stop is (also if you have to take a bus to the T station) It also provides a link to walking directions to the station.

Define "good" as it applies to the above scenario. [/b]
OM. As far as I know you guys dont have the same trouble we have with fighting drinking rival fans spilling out on to the streets.

A bit of good old fashioned partizan crowds cheering on the team can be fun, especially if we go into a red sox bar and ask (as an Englishman) really annoying questions and start cheering on the Yankees
evil [/b]
YOU can get away with cheering for the Yankees because of your accent.

Instead of numbers, here are the names we have:

Director Lad (only for a Friday or Saturday dinner)
Spellbinder
Fat Cramer
Pov
Quislet Esq
Faraway Lad
Outdoor Miner
Abin Quank
Loser Lad
Vee
Cobalt Kid
Kent Shakespeare

People who aren't on the list should cut & paste it and add their own name.

Just got a message back from Jessica at the Wizard World travel desk. They still have rooms available at three other hotels as follows (in case anyone else is interested):

Ramada Inn - Fri -Sun $116/night (with AAA discount) $129 w/o;

Comfort Inn - Fri $99, Sat & Sun $162/ night

Holiday Inn Express - $128/night Fri - Sun

The Ramada & Comfort Inns are offering a free shuttle to and from the Expo Center for the Con.

Quis: Since the shuttle makes the T unnecessary, do you have any recommendations/comments regarding those two hotels?

Can't comment on either of the Ramada or the Comfort Inn.

Definitely don't stay at the Holiday Inn Express. It really isn't convenient if you don't have a car.

Sounds like the Comfort Inn is on the same property. The description of amentities is identical laugh

The Comfort Inn® hotel is ideally located less than four miles from the downtown area and five miles from the Boston Logan International Airport. This Boston hotel is close to the JFK Library, Colonial Theatre, the Hynes Convention Center and the Fleet Center, home of NHL's Boston Bruins and NBA's Boston Celtics.

The Boston Common , known as one of the oldest public parks in the country, is four miles away. The hotel overlooks all the excitement and history of the Boston Harbor, and is just minutes from the Freedom Trail and Quincy Market.

Via the shuttle and subway, the hotel is only minutes from area universities, hospitals, south station and all Boston has to offer.

Be sure to take advantage of this eight acre complex, which features three restaurants, a piano bar with live entertainment, a Family Fun Center with bowling, billiards and interactive games, and Boston's famous Phillips Candy House with homemade candy.

Possibly that's because the two hotels are
"A part of the Phillips Family Hospitality Complex, Boston's unique ten-acre complex offering lodging, dining, and family entertainment including bowling and fun center for all ages. We are located 3 1/2 miles from downtown Boston, five miles from Logan International Airport and one mile from the JFK Library and Museum and the Bayside Exposition Center. Free deluxe continental breakfast, free wireless high-speed Internet access, free shuttle service to Logan International Airport and the JFK Subway Station and plenty of free parking are available."

Just kidding. If I do come fly up Thursday it will have to be after work, which will mean I would get in to Boston 9ish at the earliest. By the time I get to the hotel and get checked in, it would probably be getting a bit late for you guys (or maybe not laugh )

I definitely won't be able to be there until Friday. I'm commuting from Maine each day, and I think three days on the train will be enough for me smile
