Let's start a head count of who's going to be there. I'm not actually going to the con, but I'm up for meeting folks for dinner or whatever one night. So...
[headcount] One!

I plan to go. I'm going to commute daily, since I'm only an hour or so away, and it's cheaper for me to travel rather than get a hotel room.

I guess that would be me. Better leave my liver at home if Quank's gonna make an appearance. And I'm definitely counting on a comfy piece of floor at someone's house if at all possible. Quis? Your offer still stand? I'm only 5'8", so I won't take up much room.

I have a nice brown stone B&B called the Oasis on Edgerly Road. Near the Hynes T stop.
It's near to Fenway Park, and I know an excellent bar/brewery near the Red Sox Stadium just up the road from it. Actually I think the Red Sox are playing the Yankees around that time so the atmosphere should be pretty good.
Jen and I found a cheap bar actually in Quincy Market as well as a couple of decent, if touristy, Irish bars near by. And if you want Boston Beans then we fell into a pretty nice pub in downtown that I cant remember the name of. (But can remember how to get to as its near the omni parker)
Near the Holocaust memeorial there are two decent pubs and one of them was full of young pretty students Cobie.
Hic!

Define "good" as it applies to the above scenario.

I wanna go!!! So its like Friday the 30th to Sunday the 2nd? Hmm, I wonder if the scheduling gods and airline ticket gods would smile on me for a weekend in Boston...maybe if I make a blood sacrifice or something? Something else else small - like a monkey...

BTW, just went to make a hotel reservation (yes, it looks like all systems are GO for Vee to put in an appearance...subject to change without notice of course, which is the story of my professional life. ...but I have my fingers crossed that nothing will interfere.) The Doubletree at Bayside Expo is completely sold out so I'm looking for something else in the vicinity. Any suggestions?

Vee,
Any place that is near a T (the subway) stop in Boston or Cambridge would be good. The Holiday Inn Express that Scott mentioned earlier wouldn't be so good. It is a bit of a walk from the subway. (and not a pleasant walk either)

A bit of good old fashioned partizan crowds cheering on the team can be fun, especially if we go into a red sox bar and ask (as an Englishman) really annoying questions and start cheering on the Yankees
