We really miss you guys! Despite those of us on vacation as it were, you're on all of our minds. As we meet and re-meet, usually one of the first things asked is if there's been any new word. s all around.

Hi, everyone. I have an update on Caroline's condition. I talked to her by e-mail this afternoon and she said it was okay to post it here.
I called them last night and caught Scott just as they were getting ready to leave the emergency room. Caroline and Scott have both explained it to me, but I'm afraid I'm not very good at explaining things like that. Essentially, Caroline has some excess fluid left in her body after the surgery, and that was what was causing her the pain that made her need to go to the ER. The hope is that her body will naturally take care of it.

I've heard of similar circumstances; I guess it's not an unusual after-effect. My mom's encountered that once or twice. Knock on wood, it should be minor (not that I pretend to be a doctor), but we're not letting up on our prayers.

Gosh Scott, just when you thought she was making progress too. Well I hope it is just the body settling down after the operation.
Give a big hug from Jen and I.

Sorry everyone. Just been an exahusting weekend and I didn't feel like posting. We spent over nine hours in the ER on Friday. What they found was an abcess where blood or serum was filling up. They just want to treat it with antibiotics for now in hopes it will clear up and they won't have to operate again. So far Caroline seems to be getting along a little better than she was on Friday. Of course the crap never ends, so when we got home Friday night after 9:00 pm we found the temp in the house to be 90 degrees. Seems our central air gave out and Caroline's mom didn't bother telling me any of the times I spoke to her during the day. So I spent until 6:30 Saturday morning getting it working again. I really don't remember much of anything about the rest of Saturday after that. But at least I got it working so they aren't uncomfortable and I didn't have to shell out a few hundred we don't have. Thanks again to everyone. Your love and support mean more to us than I can say.

Thanks Gary and Kev. I have to add this. Caroline, being her stubborn self (she seems more Tauruen than I do at times), took off for a walk around the block while I was showering this morning. 103 degrees outside. She said instead of her flight ring she took her mother's walker. Now she's exhausted herself but it will help her recovery in the long run. Especially the fluid build up.

Sorry to hear about the new problems, but at least they were able to figure it out and suggest a course of treatment since she was doing so well after the surgery.
I hope you have a nice, uneventful week and a speedy re-recovery for Caroline!

You might want to suggest that if Caroline decides to make road trips in the heat she should take someone along with her. She's still recovering, and should probably not be trekking around town on her own quite yet. Of course I'M not going to be the one to suggest it to her...

Of course I'M not going to be the one to suggest it to her... She got read the riot act by mom and I went out and met her a little more than halfway down the block and walked back with her. Hopefully she won't take off like that again. Otherwise I'll have to tie her down.
