Okay... so who do you suppose will be the first person to try their hand at coloring those B&W images...?
Some people are like slinkys: not really good for anything, but they bring a smile to your face when you knock them down a flight of stairs

Be interesting to see if he's still linked to the origin (maybe he sees his lost youth and wants to fund their club?) And that makes me wonder if good ol' RJ is the person wearing the mysterious second pair of boots we've been speculating about. As I recall, Barry said that he was very surprised that no one had guessed who it was. Is it RJ? Someone had to pay for those flight rings!
"Hey Jim! Get Mon out of the Zone!! And...when do we get Condo back?"

I say NO to RJ being in the re-imagined legion.
I've long found him to be a very painful, irritating character. And he has that terrible "by damn" catchphrase which has been used way too many times by every writer who has ever used the character.

Hi Guys - I could only post interior pages that have already seen print - black and whites or penciled versions of those - no problem!

How does that saying go..."Yes, please!"

You know what I gotta agree with Shadow Kid a bit here. RJ doesn't do much for me. If the Legion need a father figure maybe Mon-El himself?
Or Comet Man guy himself? RJ seems not too cool anymore.

You raised an interesting point, I think it would be some real fanboy fun to be able to compare your pencils to the inked product. There are comics that I though were horrible when they were in print but when I saw the original pencils they were beautiful. Vice versa too, sometimes the only thing that saves a comic is the inker. It's really cool to see the actual work straight from the artist's hand. If you feel the need to post them we have the need to see them. We're funny that way.

Hi Paul - thanks for the offer of the avatar - how do I go about taking you up on it? No worries, Barry. I have to say I like the redesigned Legion logo a lot. And thanks, LL! You did a beautiful job.

Great stuff. Many of the inkers he was paired with did him little favour.

I wish Janes were registered here. I'd love a chance to apologize to him.
I was just terrrible to Janes at teh time, fairly demanding his immediate removal from teh book. I think I even wrote a few letters to DC.
But having seen those pencils, it is clear Janes' work was plenty faboo.
I wonder what he does these days? I recall a year or so ago he was selling some of his original Legion artwork on ebay, including some unused covers.

No, I never bought the Companion. I'm sorry now that I didn't get a chance to see those pencils. Not being much of a gamer I never bought the Mayfair Sourcebook either. Except for Who's Who I've try to get every appearance I can but those weren't "official" so I skipped 'em. Pity.
Anybody got a scan of those Janes pencils? I've made several comments about hating his run as Legion artist so I'd like to see if I need to order some humble pie for dessert when I eat Crow.
God what a pity, you mean that Reflecto story could have looked really good instead of being such a mediocre snooze fest?

When I first saw Coipel's work on Legion of the Damned, I thought the poor guy needed to go back to art school. Later, I saw posts of his original pencils and I was dumb-struck. The work was absolutely beautiful. It was the inking that made the book so difficult for me to look at.

Wow, Barry! I've been away for a while (busy-bee here), but those B/W covers are bootiful! (Can my enthusiasm for the new series grow anymore? YES). (Hmm... wish someone would have made this graemlin with SHADES!) Have a great day!

Dreadstar? How so? I followed Starlin for a long time and devoured every Dreadstar story as they came out. I'm not sure what you're seeing that makes a comparison. Interesting though. Jump in to the discussion.
Oh, and welcome aboard.

The rest of us will nevertheless continue to enjoy ourselves, with little regard to your lack of enthusiasm.
