Getting the senior yearbook. I had been the dictatorial editor and photgrapher and it was, by God, MY book. Judged against local books, it was very good.
PBM...what's the best restaurant you've been to in the last year?

hey! Semi snuck a post in there while I was answering the previous question. I'll have to do both instead.
I was at a great upscale steak/seafood place last December, just after X-mas, atop a mountain in Costa Rica. Best steak I ever had, and I've had plenty a good ones... I usually avoid the 'view' places 'cause they chrage for the view and the food seems to suffer, but not this place.
The meal: tender, fat, juicy stake with just a hint of a peppery seasoning and red wine-- and unlike most US steaks, it tasted like real meat. Other than that the taters were small and grilled, and the bread was fresh, hot and buttery, and the wine was a nice, full-bodied red, I don't remember the rest.
PBM, steak or lobster?
The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

I don't think anyone wants to be faced with a choice like this! I guess Brave New World, but not by much.
PBM, what's your favorite dystopian future story (in books, movies, comics, TV, anime, anywhere)?

Favorite, as in how I'd prefer the world to go to hell? Bladerunner, I suppose- it struck me as the most viable vision of a future LA- sort of prescient, especially in the early 80s- PBM, what is your favorite novel, and why? Mr. B

Postcards From The Edge by Carrie Fisher. Why? Because it literally saved my life when I was 15.

(1) being rich, perhaps (2) continuity in the Legion timeline (3) a reboot of American politics of the past decade or so. (4) transparent curtains at my next-door-neighbor's house.

I've apart-time pet - my dad's dog (he says that she is my dog when I visit) I like how she places her head on my chest, arm or leg.
PBM, what is the most important quality in a person for you?

Being interested in me. When you think about it, a person who makes you feel special is someone you want to be around - and you're likely to overlook their other faults.
PBM, what's your mom's best quality?

She gives all. She was my father's "nurse" at home for a few years. His legs were paralyzed and he couldn't leave the bed until he died and she was there for him, every day and every night. You might want to know she's a diabetic, has plastic hips and wasn't in the best of health ... but she held on... because she loved my father. I hope I can be half as coureagous and giving as she's been.
