Barry's endorsed an explanation, but I prefer the "Cos is an ass" theory. I mean, just look at him smirking at the end there, when she's pitifully thanking him over and over again just for not exiling her on a strange planet. There's nothing more useful than a subservient, emotionally-devastating Kryptonian....

I think that goes well with her hypothesized "natural contrarian" personality. When Kara's popularity queen, Ayla tries to cut her down; when she's an isolated primitive, Ayla protects her.

If they were assuming that Mon-El was (1) Kryptonian, (2) a criminal, and (3) possibly dangerous, wouldn't it make a lot more sense to release him on Rokyn where he would be powerless, surrounded by Kryptonian culture and have the Kryptonian authorities on hand to deal with him?
That seemed strange to me too. But 1) they do have that chunk of Kryptonite on hand, 2) the danger Brainy mentions of accidentally Zoning some Legionnaires would be best dealt with from his lab, and 3) they probably weren't very welcome to stick around Kandor after taking Supergirl back, and if they'd released yet another ancient Kryptonian and tried to take him off-planet too, the Kandorians would have been seriously pissed off.

The way I look at this, Light Lass is ordinarily the friendliest Legionnaire and the most welcoming of others. So the real anomaly here is not why she's being nice to Kara all of a sudden, but why she wasn't nice to her at the start. And for that I think it's just that the way Supergirl joined the team rubbed her the wrong way. Stuff like that happens.

Um I have to point out here that you really don't seem to understand women at all... We are petty, teritorial and jealous. :-)

I have never claimed to understand women, but I sure appreciate them! ;-)

As for issue #24, it definitely was one of the best of the series so far. Two years was a long time to wait, but the title seems to be establishing some kind of stride.

My concern, as expressed by others, is the generic villians. It is hard to differentiate between Terror Firma, the new LSV, the super-powered Legionnaire groupies, and even some of the core Legionnaires as well. To my mind it seems there is a huge grey area in the morality of these youths. I guess this explains why the UP goverment preferred the Public Service restraints and why the SP plain hates all of them - the bad ones give all the super-powered a bad name.

A Legion Academy would help draw the line, give some characters a little structure, and give Chuck a job.

Kid Q, I agree that they seem generic..but maybe that is what they are going for currently. I mean the original LSV was a bit generic as well...that's why I always liked the Fatal Five. Like I said it does seem a bit cool and exciting seeing all those costumed characters but I hope they flesh some out soon.

Also I loved Chuck as the director of Legion Academy.

Just re-read #24 in anticipation of #25 coming out tomorrow. Something else else struck me as interesting I didn't notice before - and I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere here in Legion World.

Supergirl, in the battle with LSV grabs a weapon (7th page) and says: "A Dru-Zod 560 Seizure Cannon! Just Like MOM used to use." It occurs to me that Kara may be KARA JR., and the comparisons of this Kara and the one in the 21st century don't mesh because they are not the same person. It would seem to go along with the themes of recent 52, JSA and Teen Titan stories to introduce new characters who are legacies.

Did anyone else get this impression?

I've been wondering whether this Supergirl is the same as the Supergirl in her self-titled book (which I'm dropping from my pull list).

Maybe there's some master plan for explaining Star Boy and Dawnstar in JSA. Supergirl in her own book and Supergirl in the Legion seeming like two different characters, the existence of Power Girl, a resurrection of Conner Kent, Power Boy and the return of Kal-L.

Or maybe DC editorial staff is having a complete meltdown and no one knows what in the hell is going on.

I don’t know? Why would Kara (Supergirl) need to use a weapon often enough for it to be imprinted on the memory of her daughter. After all she can take on a raging Daximite with her bare hands wht need a weapon?

I actually read this to be a reference to time spent in Argo City. Kara’s mom could have used a Dru-Zod 560 Seizure Cannon as part of national service (or some such equivalent) so that Kryptonians lokks at these much like we would say "hey look a Lee Enfield, just like grandad used"

I was more taken by the name a Dru-Zod? Any connection to a certain General do we think?
