Another good issue. Nice to see that Kara wasn't left on Rokyn. The stark reasoning behind the Rokynnites forced isolation was a little weird.
Cos is right, I love Jeyra's lines. They are right out of a silver-age guide of phrases for villains to say when foiled by the heroes.
I love Brainy's attempts to hide his precog powers. Given the others would want to extract whatever is in his head, he's selfishly hiding it within him.
I'm warming to a Cos and Kara relationship, if only to see what's going to happen with the Invisible Kid Stalker. We also hear that Garth is running for leader though he's got some baggage with his candidacy.
And is Jan having a relationship with only one of the Luornus or all three?
Oh yeah Imra and Tinya have a chat with Mon-El and we get a hint that Action Comics Annual 10 will give him an origin close to the silver age one.

Other spoilers:
Remember the previous solicit that suggested that Mon-El would be on the LSV's side since they were the ones to let him out of the Phantom Zone? That now seems deceptive.
Mon-El does not get out of the Zone this issue. (And he is actually calling himself Mon-El.)
Dream Boy actually gets some screen time.
That is Polar Boy who iced up Ayla on Rokyn.
Excellent Supergirl moment in the fight on Rokyn.
And Barry Kitson's art on Imra and/or Tinya as they visit the Phantom Zone is fascinating.
Next issue looks like a big one.

i've just read it! Great issue! i love it.
Great artwork by Barry as always and great story by Mark.
i like this group of villains at the beginning, they seem to work well together, they have a great potential.
I like how the fight was handled, how Kandor was described, the discovery of Phantom Girl with Mon-El, the little follow-up on the Triplicate Girl - Element Lad relationship, the revelations with Mon-El at the end.
And i like that we see Tinya too, it has been a long time since we have seen her. I just hope she has more dialogues next time so we can know more, because we don't know much since the back-up in issue five, and the failed relationship with Karate Kid. How does she feel? What has she done since then? we don't know. We have only seen her standing in the background until now.
With last issue, we know that Atom Girl and Shadow Lass are offworld on Tasmia's planet. But i wonder where are Karate Kid, Invisible Kid,....Never mind, i didn't say anything, i just spotted them. Everyboddy is back at the headquarters.
If you pay attention, you can see all of them pass by behind Lightning Lad, in the part where we are back at the headquarters. We can see Atom Girl flying by, and Tasmia talking with Karate Kid, so we know they are back from Tasmia's world. There is also Projectra and Timber Wolf walking together, and Star Boy with a blonde girl. Another follow-up from last issue, we can see the 2 other Triplicate still with the new green plant guy introduced last issue.
And Jan is still with the third one.
The only ones that seem to be missing or unaccounted for, maybe in another part of the HQ are Invisible Kid, Chameleon, Ultra Boy and Micro Lad.
Speaking of Micro Lad. On the last page, in the cliffhanger, among the villains, we can see one giant, and his costume really look like the one of Micro Lad to me.
Of course, we have seen other young giant people fighting against the Legion in previous issues, so...who knows? we don't see his face.
Another thing i was wondering about the cliffhanger: like with Lemnos, all the villains seem to be aliens, compared to the core group of the Legion that except for Chameleon are all "normal humans".

wow. lots going on in this issue. stuff that stood out for me:
Kandor : wow. Waid really hit that one with a big dose of pseudo-reality. I liked it, it's just that it was jarring to think of the negatives of living in a shruken city.
funny stuff : I liked the snappy banter among the villians and the legion.
art : Mr. Kitson, page 5 shot of supergirl was awesome. the shadows on the cape, the drape of the cape, the hair. I am still staring at that page now.
Lighting Lad : that man is not qualified to be Legion leader. so, naturally he will win the election.
Mon El: 1000 years of sensory deprivation. I would be a raving lunatic. not so sure he won't turn out to have problems.
Phatom Girl: he doesn't look hostile. famous last words.

Hmm, while this was another good issue, I was somewhat underwhelmed by it. I don't know what it was, but it just kind of felt short or something. Maybe I'm just missing the days when we got 30-page issues.
While I liked the Rokyn backstory, it seemed kind of oddly placed. They give us the elaborate backstory of the place right before they leave. Unless Rokyn is going to play more of role in the future, it was a little weird.
And the green kid is now officially "Polar Boy". I find that annoying. I can kind of accept minor characters be redesigned as alien villains, but Polar Boy was an actual Legionnaire, and a popular character back in the day. Well, I guess we should be thankful he isn't a anthropomorphic Polar Bear, but still...
That said, there's some intriguing stuff, and I'm looking forward to next issue. And, the big mystery, what has everybody assumed about Dream Boy that isn't true?

Not a good development at all and it totally ruined what would have been my favorite issue of this new Legion.

Maybe he is really a good guy and is just under the Titan's mind control. Or maybe he'll do the leap from Super Villain to Super Hero like Blok.

for all you polar boy fans, it's like Cargg said, he could always switch from bad to good. or maybe, he's not the only one with that power. maybe there will be a good frost boy to counter polar boy.

The issue seemed short to me as well. But, at least it wasn't pointless. Some good movement to the plot and tangential backstory to boot. While I can appreciate that, it has become somewhat difficult for me to appreciate any of the characters. Jan is off with Luornu. Cos is still speaking. Everyone else on the away-team left it to Cos to ask Kara to come with them. Garth has ADD. Part of me quite enjoys seeing them all fall flat.
Well, maybe they will next issue. BTW, does anyone think the promo art for next issue is more than a coloring mistake? Mon's red and blue are reversed. I imagine it's a coloring mistake since his collar still looks red, but it would be a twist to see a reverse-Mon-el.
Oh, and it could just be me, but it looks like there's a couple of Wildfire & Dawnstar potentials in the gang of antagonists approaching.

I like that last page, it's almost perez like in its crowded, but easy to pick out nature.

The green guy is obviously a rat and a hopeless jerk and I predict he won't be around long enough for the codename "Polar Boy" to stick to him. Unless they actually start calling him Brek (they better not), he doesn't preclude a future appearance by his heroic namesake from Tharr. I can live with it as long he winds up as Dominator mincemeat within the next six issues. Death to Drone Boy, er, Dream Boy, too, before he decides to run for leader. Jan, dear, I think you can do better than one-third of a girl (unless that's all you can deal with). Otherwise, the SVQ (Silver Age Quotient) of this issue just soared through the roof. Super-Arsenal-girl rescuing her friends with ancient Kryptonian weapons, 1,000 years of Kandorian history in a nutshell and most glorious of all, "I think he called me MON-EL". Also, "Tinra" has to be the most original use of Legionnaires' powers I've seen in a long time. If not my favorite issue of the series, it's probably in the top three, at least until Barry gets around to drawing the Tokyopolis flashback. That big thing Jo was flaunting with pride was a Rimboran flag, right?

A sort of yeti-like take on the character might have been cool, like a white haired Arkkis Chummuck. The pseudo-Coluan look doesn't do much for me, seems a bit generic. At this point, I hope that this "Polar Boy" isn't Brek Bannin.

Hi guys Thanks for the kind words about the artwork! I really apopreciate them! I'm especially pleased you enjoyed the P/SG sequence! The mis-coloring of Mon-el's costume was indeed a mistake - probably slipped through while we were in mideditorial change and I had asked for Polar Boy's skin to be blue too... these things happen in deadline land, sorry. As to some of the other observations - be careful of leaping to conclusions at this stage LOTS of twists to come! Tokyopolis is coming Thanks again guys - Happy Thanksgiving!

Is it too late at this point for that to be fixed, I wouldn't complain if he wasn't green the next time we see him.

[/b]If his skin is blue and he was under a yellow sun, would his coloring look green? Oh those tricky color wheels of death. Or even better, if his skin were pasty white and he were under a green sun, that would explain everything.

"leaping to conclusions"? Hey, we're the internet! Next to spreading ill-founded rumors, that's what we do best!

Well part of the thing with the comic reading 'short' or light was because it was actually 40 pages but the extra pages were ads.
Not quite as bad as Superman Confidential or some of the Marvel's from last summer but when comics have been 22-26 pages of pictures and about 10 pages of ads forever, it is a little different.
