OK, I'm running out to get my car fixed, coming back and reading the last three pages and then settling down for a drink! And maybe then someon can explain to me in easy terms what happened with the whole Reep mess? (if it's OK to call it that )

Since you don't consume alcohol, this is a drink to help negate the effects of too much drinking. It's a secret recipe handed down for many generations. We call it:
The Pepto-Quismol.
I'm sure it will be a huge hit. I try to be soothing.
By the way, Thriftstore Debutante requested that I open up a thread for legal issues. There were a couple of questions on palimony, which is more in your area of the law. I answered as best I could.[/b]You know Quis, starting in 2005 in California, registered domestic partners will have to go through the court system to terminate their domestic partnerships. They will also have the rights (or blights - depending on your point of view) of spousal support and community property. There should be a big expansion in the family law business.

It's unsettling that a member of LW doesn't feel welcome.

Semi, you have no idea how great it is to see you back. You were really missed . It's good to see everyone stopping by! Arachne, KP, Danny, Icey, Quis, Sharky, and of course Stu and Vee, good to see you all! Now all we need is Ranger, Harbinger and FC! And I can't believe I missed Grey!

BTW, Semi (or anyone), have you ever made or had a Jack Rose? My Dad drinks these (and just made a batch), they're an old drink that was popular in the fifties. Real simple: Canadian Club Whiskey, Applejack Liquer and Grenadine, and they are absolutely delicious . I'm a whiskey and gin kind of guy myself, so finding a good whiskey drink is always a pleasure

Semi,
I just stopped by to say Welcome Back. Sorry I can't stick around for very long but it is good to see you made it back safely.

Looks like we're almost ready for this weekends festivities! Just a few more decorations to put up and a bit more restocking to do. <I'll bet SemiSweets has something really special to unveil for the weekend as well.> You know? Those two portraits really do look good side by side up there!

As a valued patron, I've also created a drink in your honor. It's called, the: BLOODY BLOKE It's like a bloody mary, but with single malt scotch instead of vodka. It also has a shot of beef boullion and a dash of horseradish in the tomatoe juice. I don't know if many will like it, but it's guaranteed to get one's kilt in a bunch.

Truth and Justice shall Prevail! (And to make sure my special chair doesn't get put in storage)[/b] Well thanks Ranger. Good to see you again. I've named a drink in your honor - it's the RED RANGER Johnny Walker Black, red vermouth (Noilly Pratt, preferably) shaken 100 times and topped with a cherry.

Enjoy. Sounds good. Better yet, it sounds strong. I could use one.

She doesn't even know she's sick yet. The groomer found a lump under her tail, so she's going to get it removed on Wednesday. Hopefully it's benign.

Arachne, I'll say my prayers for your girl. There's all kinds of lumps, and like in humans, most of them are benign. I've had lots of lumps with my dogs, and most have been nothing at all. But do check her teats. Mammary cancer is quite common. My Scout, who I lost a year ago had mammary cancer, but they caught it in time and it hadn't spread. She died from old age.

Hey Caroline. I've concocted a special drink in your honor. Of course, it's called the:
SWEET CAROLINE
and it has rings to commemorate your home planet.
Let's just say it's got rum, grenadine, orange juice, vodka, and papaya -- all layered. It's garnished with a sprig of witch-hazel.

Wow! I've never had my own drink before! Yum! I'm even going to save the sprig.
Need any help putting up decorations? It looks great in here already, but excess can be so fun!

Thanks Semi, that's good to know. Mitzie's aready had her blood work done and she's okay for surgery and there's no sign of the tumor spreading, so hopefully this'll just be day surgery and she'll be back to normal by Christmas. (Which she's already getting excited about. Somehow she knows the word Christmas means treats. )

I just checked Buster and he has a big fatty lump on his chest. Buster is 11 and has been through a lot. If it's cancer, I don't know if I want to put him and me through the operation. He seems perfectly fine and the operation would be really distressful for him.
Maybe I should retitle this thread, SHAKES-check your puppy
Oh, btw, STU's new avatar is a picture of my other dog, Garbo.
