Takes out screw driver and removes screws attaching triple-marine varnished authentic antique swinging saloon doors. Removes doors and places them gently in trunk of waiting transport. Climbs into driver's seat and heads off world for parts unknown.

Oh no! Where has Semi gone? I just dropped by to give him this bottle of 60-year old cognac as a token of thanks. Well, I guess you guys may as well enjoy it. Help yourselves.

<pours a drink for Semi, a gin martini. Waits around and hopes he comes to drink it...>

[puppy STU whimpers plaintively, then curls up near the window, his ears perked up for any sign of his master Semi returning]

<Vee paces forelornly from one end of SHAKES to the other. "Where could he have gone?... And why?>

...pace, pace, pace...

Puppy STU enters SHAKES through the doggy door. There is a note in his mouth.

The note reads:

Dear patrons of SHAKES:

Please excuse my abrupt departure. I am away on a mission of mercy.

You see, I have always been more than a mere bartender. I am, in fact, the chosen champion of my planet. (The bartending gig was just a night job.)

I have now gone back to my homeworld to rescue my Semi Transparent People from a terrible menace -- our rivals, the Semi Permeable People. In my absence, I trust that the regular staff of SHAKES will provide you, our loyal customers, with everything that you could want. They are well-equipped to handle all your libation needs.

You had me convinced there, puppy STU, until you threw in the part about the filet mignon and prime rib (although I do note that the handwriting on the PS is slightly different than the rest so maybe the first part is authentic.)

Since so many of you have been asking me, I figure I'd better say something.

I'm sorry to report that Semi has, in fact, decided to take a leave from posting here. I won't go into his reasons save to say that he feels the need to be away from Legion World for a little while.

I believe that Semi will eventually find his way back here to us. I know that I for one will be waiting anxiously for his return. He is a very big part of what I enjoy most about being here. Legion World just won't be the same without my SemiSweets.

While Semi is gone I hope to keep SHAKES open and just as much fun as its been until now. When Semi comes back, I want it to be full of his friends ready to welcome him back.

Until then...I'll miss you SemiSweets, wherever you are!
