1 - I predict DNA's last issue on the series will be issue 36. 2 - I predict Jim Shooter's "Last Legion Story" will see print as next summer's Legion annual. 3 - I predict Cub will become an adult renegade or super-villain and will cause the next Legionnaire to die - a brunette female - and it will occur before issue 40 4 - I predict The Time Trapper will be the next major returning villain after Darkseid and we will get to see Lori return with him as a young Glorith in training. 5 - I predict Legion World will have over 400 members by January 1st, 2004. What are your Five Bold Predictions?

Ooohhh, FUN GAME!! 1. I predict that DnA will leave even sooner than Reep thinks they will. 2. I predict that Jim Shooter's "The Last Legion Story" will see print next year, but as a Prestige Format limited series. The art will be supplied by Jose Luis Garcia Lopez. 3. I predict that Cub will play a key part in the upcoming Darksied story, most likely as a reincarnation of Orion. He will then depart the scene. 4. I predict that the dead hero returned to life, as initimated in the teaser to Legion #25, will be Colossal Boy. 5. I predict that DC will revive Adventure Comics as a magazine size anthology aimed at the bookstore market. Each issue will be anchored by a solo Legionniare story written by a "name" creator. And just because I cannot contain myself: 6. I predict that the writer to take over after DnA will be Mark Waid. 7. I predict that Waid will reintroduce Lori Morning in a Time Trapper story that will perdorm a mini reboot on the book, returing it's plot lines to when he left soon after the reboot. 8. I predict that I will be among the first 10 posters on Legion World to make Legionniare status. 9. I predict that one of next years "Lost Annuals" from DC will be Jimmy Olsen Annual #1 It will feature an Elastic Lad story, as well as at least two other stories not reprinted in the Legion Archives that either feature of cameo Legion members. 10. I predict that, within two years, we will be watching a Legion cartoon on the Cartoon Network. The series will be closer in visual tone to the Justice League cartoon than the Teen Titans.

Oh, I forgot one:
11. I predict that, after his run on Superman, Jim Lee will next turn his attention to the Legion.

Don't know if I have five predictions in me or not, but here goes:
1. DnA's last issue will be # 30.
2. Val and Andy will not become a couple. Andy will stay stuck in iron form for the foreseeable future.
3. The next Legion leader will be Wildfire.
4. The next major arc (post-Umbra) will involve Singularity.
5. Jo and Tinya will reconcile, and Cub will go off to play with Lori morning, never to be seen again.

1. Steve Lightle will be a semi regular Legion artist, perhaps doing back-up stories every 3rd issue. 2. Jim Shooter's last Legion story will be announced as a new Elseworld's special to follow the sequel to Superboy's Legion. But inexplicably at the last moment and after everyone has pre-ordered a copy, DC will pull the issue without a comment. 3. DnA will leave at issue #40 and Mark Waid will take over, finally telling us what he meant to do with Lori. And it won't be her as Glorith. 4. Sales of the Legion will rise slightly and finally settle as a top 50 comic. 5. I suffer a nervous breakdown trying to keep up with you all.

1. Batista will leave the book for a more high-profile assignment within 18 issues.
2. Sensor's physical appearance will change further.
3. Sharn Nux will return as the rebooted Infinite Man
4. People will start to like Imra again.
5. LORI MORNING:YEAR ONE

[crystal ball] - RJ Brande will die by this time next year (whether or not it's permanent will be up in the air)
- Another Legionnaire will be crippled or somehow drastically altered.
- There will be one controversial new Legion romance.
- M'onel will leave the team.
- The events in #25 will not be what they first appear to be.

(More shudders... all that Lori stuff)
1. The team will split up again, with the RJ-Kwai galaxy mission taking a minority of them away from Legion World for at least 12 issues.
2. Winema will use her power & influence to break up Jo & Tinya's marriage - but they'll get back together within a year of their time.
3. There will NOT be an open gay Legion relationship, despite the interest of many fans. Just look at how rabid popular opinion is in the US about gay marriage - I don't think DC will risk it. Prove me wrong, cowards.
4. Along with Darkseid, we'll see a return of the New Genesis gods.
5. No more Legionnaire babies for several years yet. I think the creative/editorial team don't really know what to do with a baby on Legion World, and don't want any retirements yet.

1. Lar Gand will reveal himself as Valor in the next few years. Or maybe he'll be outed, either way.
2. Leviathan will never return from the dead. Like Ferro Lad preboot, he must be the eternally fallen Legionnaire.
3. Mekt Ranzz will not return to villainy during DnA's tenure. He'll be a little shaky though.
4. Threshhold technology will have some sort of bad consequences for the UP, technological breakdown, problems with the Kwai or other galactic powers trying to take the tech by force. Something else else that seems too good to be true usually is, as they say.
5. I'm going with the crowd, I want the "Last Legion Story" by Shooter and art by Dave Cockrum!!!! Paul Levitz, you have the power!!!!

I'm usually terrible at this, but here goes:
1) The October 2004 issue, which marks the 10th anniversary of the Post-boot Legion, will be a HUGE event.
DnA will NOT retire as the Legion writing team BEFORE they:
2) Resurrect Garth (Kwaiverse mission?)
3) Resolve Jan's fate (don't think he'll ever rejoin the Legion in this continuity)
4) Take Kinetix out of her misery (she'll mutate again, die, disappear or leave the Legion)
I further predict:
5) The M'onel/Valor storyline will heat up again after Superboy settles down as a member of the Legion, so as to better differentiate these two alpha males.

[Fat Cramer] {[...] Just look at how rabid popular opinion is in the US about gay marriage - I don't think DC will risk it. Prove me wrong, cowards. }
Who, may I ask, are you calling "cowards"? The rest of us here at LegionWorld? (I seriously doubt that, but I had to ask.) Those at DC who won't risk such a story? (More likely, but if so, you're careless about your reference here.) Some Americans? All Americans?
Despite appearances from the filtering effect of public polls, those who are "rabidly" against gay marriage on supposed moral or other grounds are very much a minority.
Those who would rather not see it, and who are persuadable otherwise by personal example among those they know -- as has been happening over the past two decades -- are a larger group, though this fluctuates. (When politicians go grandstanding, such as after the recent Supreme Court ruling striking down sodomy laws, this group gets smaller. I didn't say they were principled, only persuadable.)
Only both of these groups counted together, as politicians are wont to do, constitute a majority of those polled. I suspect that a sizable third group is resistant to discussing such matters of moral judgment with strangers polling them on the phone, more than the pollsters admit, and this skews the accuracy of such questions.
And beyond all this, o'course, a far from small portion of the American public does live with, work alongside, and love their gay relatives, friends, and colleagues enough to want them to be able to make such relationships formal and legally stable. And without being excluded arbitrarily from legal protections for doing so. (I am among them, both wanting this and potentially benefiting.)
So please be much more careful, FC, about how you're tossing around a word like "cowards," and about whom you mean it.
The legalizing of gay marriage in Canada, by the way, wasn't particularly un-cowardly itself. It was done through judicial rulings, where the courts involved took the responsibility that is readily shirked in every country by cowardly politicians. (Those last two words, though, are redundant.)

I don't even care if its not somebody that we already want. They can create someone new and I'd be content. Although Lyle is just sitting around, waiting for the right guy to come along...

Last I looked, Lyle was looking more like a cross between Doomsday and The Super Moby Dick of Space, with a fired brain at that. Predictions: Lyle will become the new Spectra, or spectra like character. Shooter's last story will come out in 2004 but the crystal ball is fuzzy on the artist. The UP will be invaded and conquered in 15 minutes, many Legionnaires will be possessed, the legion will win in five minutes in a completely unforseable or illogical way. This will take place over six issues, though four would probably have been enough. The art will be great. Due to the continuities of natural laws, Ferro found a finger, one must be lost. Umbra gets married. Dawnstar is found wondering lost in the kwaiverse, leading to uproar on the message boards over this mistreatment. Kon-el is introduced as a member of Legion, is interesting and results in no DCU crossover events. Hell freezes.

My predictions:
1. Kinetix will remain a Terroform for about another year, despite the fact she probably won't do too much in that form. She'll be returned to normal as a result of some bigger storyline or threat the Legion faces, probably after the Credo arc.
2. Sensor's personality will continue to evolve, perhaps growing fiercer, while her looks and lack of a Legion belt will probably remain.
3. Umbra won't immediately rejoin the Legion for about another year. Until then, we may catch up with her once or twice in interludes and of course the much anticipated the Legion #24.
4. DnA will have probably two or three more big story arcs, including the 'Who is Superboy?' upcoming arc, before their departure. If I had to pick an issue, I'd put this somewhere around 40.
5. Violet will eventually get a more prominent role, although it may be the end of DnA's run.

Yes, I am absolutely certain that all of these will happen:
1: Calamity King will be introduced as a lord of Chaos who has been playing the Time Trapper, Glorith, Mordru, and the Legion against each other out of his motivation that no one being create an overwhelming amount of order in the universe.
2: Lori Morning, who has developed an aura which causes men to love her and women to hate her, will have hooked up with Lester Spiffany, who has previously developed an obsession with keeping things in chains. Hilarity ensues.
3: Star Boy's powers will settle down into the ability to grow to colossal proportions. He won't be featured much, but will often be shown in the background of panels--and always very large.
4: Comic Book issues will shrink to the size of a five-by-seven card, on which one side is entirely a depiction of a scantily-clad female, and will cost $7.
5: Jo and Tinya will stop arguing, get married, and have more children--all while living on a deserted planet, in a treehouse.

Doing this without looking at anyone else's predictions:
1. The Legion #50 will feature the team's showdown with Singularity/the Credo. Singularity's motivation in destroying the Progeny will involve the fact that they destroyed his homeworld, the one he believed he was protecting when the Legionnaires first encountered him. Polar Boy will have earned his Legion membership by this issue (or possibly will earn it during this issue), and will take down the Credo's "Brek" during the battle.
2. The Legion will gain several new members from the Kwai galaxy. Paragon of Mercy will be one of them.
3. The next Legion wedding will be Garth and Imra.
4. Before they leave the book, DnA will introduce a rebooted Dawnstar, thus putting an end to the "Is Shikari a rebooted..." question once and for all. Whether they incorporate her brother Greybird into the book is another matter altogether...
5. The next big story arc following "Foundations" will concern the Fatal Five and the object they are searching for.
