Does anybody know of a way we could check the poll standings mid way thru this election? I'm interested to know who's in the lead so far.

I'm a bit surprised to see Tyroc have so much support for leadership, but it's nice to see.
From one positive standpoint it would be nice if he were elected because he was so little-used that I feel like I don't really know him (or his powers) that well at all and the exposure would good in that regard. From a negative point, well ... he was so little-used that I feel like I don't know him or his powers that well at all!
I don't know how he'd do as Legion leader because I don't know HIM as a person.

If he did win it would sort of be like waking up one morning and being asked to accept a new president or prime minister based on 2 or 3 past appearances of a political nature. A bit TOO much of a leap-of-faith for my tastes.
Maybe he needs time to first be fleshed out properly, both personality and powers, and then get that leadership chance down the road.

Heck, even Gates or XS would be better choices right now. At least we know those two pretty well and could expect certain things from them as characters.
Tyroc on the other hand .... hmmmm, na, I got nuthin'.

I couldn't agree more.

I can't decide.

Maybe I should just sell my vote to another fan. I can always use more beer money, after all.

Gates.

I can't imagine Mr Levitz having a challenge writing any character except Gates.

In the last election (in the late 80's - sprock, that was many hairs ago), I voted for Brin and he ended second to Jeckie, if I recall correctly. I did it again as I still am curious about Paul's tentative take on the most no-nonsense legionaire as the head honcho. I would like his tenure to be definitely marked by a proactive stance and a hands on approach regarding criminals (that would mean lots of no quarter action) and the eventual political & diplomatical dilemmas that that same atitude would give birth to.

I decided to vote for Gim too (got your back, Glindros).

I'd like to see more of him and Chameleon Girl. I liked their dynamic during G. Johns 6-part Action Comics saga, and he could be "Large and In Charge"!

A close second for me was Tyroc. A new costume, the interaction with Earth Man, and more panel time for a relatively little-used character would be welcome and potentially very interesting.

Jim - you'll be happy to know that I voted for Ayla (since Luornu wasn't available). She's got guts, remember when she took on the Legion of Super Villains single-handedly? And I liked her appearance with her brother and Imra in this series a lot. Plus as the founders take a back seat, it's appropriate one of their siblings gets a chance at the top spot.

If this exit poll is accurate, then <span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">Tinya and Mon</span></span> are leading the votes in first and second respectively. If you've voted but haven't participated in the poll, please go ahead and do so. (For <span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">Ayla</span></span> fans' sake, hopefully it's not so accurate!)

Has <span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">Mon</span></span> ever been leader before?

Yes he has. He <span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">was leader during Wildfire then ERG-1's request for membership and turned him away cause he had no unique power that seperated him from the other legionnaires (so he thought)</span></span>

That would be an interesting result since <span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">Mon and Tinya were the male and female winners of the first ever Legion popularity poll, back in the Adventure era</span></span>.

I decide to vote Quislet, because he's so darn likable. I would of voted XS but she isn't on the ballot for some reason, and I don't see Gates accepting the position.

Quislet or Gates as leader would definitely be the most bizarre choices....even moreso than Earth-Man, I would find it really difficult to believe a majority of members would vote for either of those two.

I voted Ayla, but it would definitely be interesting seeing how Paul would handle one of those two...

Yes, Ayla was in my top four choices as well.

Tinya, Ayla, Mon and Cham. I'd love to see any of them as leader, right about now, for different reasons.

I was going to vote Ayla but I just thought that Quislet would make for more interesting stories.

Vote for Mon-el so he can make Earth-Man's life a living hell ... and maybe kick some Shadow Lass bootie, too!

True enough.

I think for some of the voters, and certainly myself, it's a little less about getting them to be leader and more about trying to show TPTB that these characters are popular.

Characters like Tinya and Ayla are classics, in that as long as there is a Legion, these characters will be around. They aren't going anywhere. The same isn't true of a Gates or a Quislet.
