I count 8:

That's a little less than one-third of the team, and pretty consistent with numbers for most of the preboot. [/b]Whoops. Counting Fail by me. Still seems lower than I remember though. I'd like to see some new (or old) females on this team but I'm not too keen on expanding the membership past the 25 limit (since we hardly get to see most of the members we do have) and am not keen on losing anyone. It's a catch-22.

Hey wow, I didn't even realise Garth and Imra weren't there! I guess they're off raising the kids? I'm okay with that.....I liked when Cos, Imra and Garth all took on senior advisor roles and left the active team way back when. I did notice no Star Boy, so I guess Thom is still in the 21st century?
I voted for Ayla. While I agree with the sentiment that Tinya has been around long enough she deserves it, I think Ayla has had way more interesting character development in all the Legion's incarnations, and I think she would organically make a really good leader without it feeling forced.
It kind of bugs me that we have Cham AND Yera in the team...I think making Yera an actual team member was a silly move. It's okay having two lightning wielders at the same time when half the team fire energy blasts of some description or another anyway, but having two shapeshifters kind of dilutes both of them IMO. I would much rather see Yera as support cast, or a reservist at best.
I'd actually like to see Night Girl and XS there in the place of Yera and Earth-Man if we're still sticking to the 25 member limit, and if we'd had Night Girl I totally would have given her my vote!

I suspect you're looking at the roster Paul will have by then, so plenty of time for Garth and Imra to take a leave on-panel, etc.

Adding to what rouge said, Blok and Mysa were dropped by... Johns(?) - whoever it was that was writing the back-ups anyway. And Star Boy has been off this team and in the 21st century with the JSA for a looooonnng time now. So we can't actually blame Paul for any of those dismissals.

Well Thom still has a big question mark on his status, as he was with the others at the end of the New Krypton stuff but we never actually see them return, so we don't know who comes back and who doesn't. But as far as I know, Thom hasn't appeared in JSA or anywhere else in present-day DCU since then either.

i voted for Quislet...so it would be a very creative storyline if that happend...and yeah i think Thom's in the 31st century probably getting treatment for his schiopherina...that and Paul doesn't know what to do with him...yet...and i'm all in favor of them doing away with that team member limit...i understand its used to keep the writer from having to write for every person who could fill the legion...but there's nothing to say the whole team has to do every mission while everyone is present.
Bring back the super-cousins

Back to the election, anyone have a list of leaders up until present? Seems like I should know where to go to find this, but haven't been able to so far.
thanks

Er... getting elected leader comes with a new costume, right? I followed your advice as well EDE, Paul did say about the election, he wondered what the readers will do to him this time? I can't think of anything better than electing his favorite Legionnaire, Tyroc!
I tried to rip their soul out.I tried to make them forget Superman. But they won't.

How long has it been since there was an election that was decided by fan voting? Was there such an election during the reboot era, or am I remembering wrong?

There was one election during the reboot era, which Invisible Kid won. Before that it was Sensor Girl at the end of the Baxter era.

Ugg, I remember that Invisible Kid debacle. He was elected, then within mere issues resigned to run the Espionage Squad and let Saturn Girl take over. Huge cop-out from the writers there.

I voted for Tyroc simply to give an underused Legionnaire some time.

Interesting early reactions. Earth-man and Mon-El are getting the most action in the comments on the DCU Blog. Gates and Tinya are leading early over at Omnicrom's poll. Legion World Facebookers seem pretty split, but Gates has three mentions there.
I even sullied myself to check the DC Message boards and Shady has a lot of support, but lobbying for Gates continues there as well.

I think this (as in all things) will come down to fashion. Which means Polar Boy will dramatically cast the deciding vote. As of right now the 25 members fall evenly into two camps:
SLEEVES:
Brainy Cham Colossal Boy Cosmic Boy Dawnstar Earth-man Element Lad Mon-El Shrinking Violet Sun Boy Tyroc Wildfire
SLEEVELESS:
Chameleon Girl Dream Girl Gates Invisible Kid Lightning Lass Phantom Girl Quistlet Sensor Girl Shadow Lass Tellus Timber Wolf Ultra Boy
With Polar Boy being half and half.
As long as each faction rallies behind one candidate, it will be down to Brek to decide if the future of the group favours the right to Bare Arms or not.
