We get to see a bit more of Brainy and Tinya.
When it hit me who the teenaged girl competing with the Legion of Superman's attention was i felt kinda dumb for not figuring it out before but It put a smile on my face.
A restaging of an old Superboy story in the future. Sort of inline with those crazy preboot stories where the 31st century was populated with people that looked/acted just like their 20th century ancestors.

Alexis Luthor and she stole Lobo's cycle.
I tried to rip their soul out.I tried to make them forget Superman. But they won't.

Woah, the legionarres really kicked butt in this episode, and for the people who say that Saturn girl is weak were obviosly wrong. And I got to see more of Brainy and Phantom girl, who were both awesome by the way. The only thing I didn't like is that there was no Timberwolf and Bouncing Boy:( But I guess you can't have all the legionarres at once, cause I guess it's better to have them not be in the episode than to not do anything. Does anyone get the feeling we're going to see Alexis again?

At first I was annoyed that Alexis was getting all this air time. I mean, with so many Legionnaires I want to see, why do I have to spend all this time watching her? Well, there was a payoff! She went bad. Sad, but good storytelling! I liked it.
The action scenes were just great. I'm still all fanboy tingly from seeing these guys in action, especially Lightning Lad and Phantom Girl. I wish there were more Easter Eggs, we just got Lobo this time. I don't think any of the sentients in the backgrounds were anyone. Alexis used the name "Kort" though, didn't she? That was Magno Lad's name, right?

I, too, did not get the reference until the hair started falling off. Pretty well done if you ask me. It would be interesting to see a Legion of Super Villains that was just a bunch of rich-kid wanna-bes.
I liked the Phantom Girl lines and Brainy's issues with being Superman's friend. Any time I wondered if they were going to be too cardboard cut-out, they backed off or surprised me.
A minor quibble I have to get out of the way: Lightning Lad's sound effect for his lightning bolts could use some tweaking.

gee i guess in the 31st century Lobo has finally mellowed out, and i guess that the JLA satellite hasn't been scrapped after all.

I caught part of it; will watch it later if the DVR worked properly. The TV listings still insist that Legion's been bumped to Sundays for the college games, but it shows on Saturday. So I have to hit record when the show starts instead of a pre-load. I could see why Alexis would try to get Superman in the first place. He hadn't fought Lex Luthor yet, but she'd know about him from family history. And what better revenge, what greater humilation could she inflict, than to have Superman following her around like a lovesick puppy?

I agree, I caught the thing about 'Alexis' early on. But we did see Lobo and the JLU base.
It would be fun for her to start the LSV though.

Fun!
Yeah, I predict an Alexis-funded LSV in future eps!
At first I kinda wanted her to be Alexis Spiffany.
Both Phantom Girl and Saturn Girl kicked major tail, and I'm glad the LSH didn't actually need SuperBOY (I refuse to refer to him as Superman here) to save their hash in that initial pre-upgraded battle.
Too bad there were no other Legionnaires at the HQ when the attack happened. This would have been a great time to throw in a couple.
Minor quibble: The Scavengers should have been the Resource Raiders!
Brainy's man-crush on Supes sure was cute!
I agree-- awesome battle scenes here. Good stuff all around! Still in awe-mode at even HAVING a Legion 'toon at all.

Resource Raiders?? is that what thye're called way back in Superboy and the Legion #242? (the Earth Wars saga)?
I was thinking about more like wishing that the raiders would be like Starburst Bandits...they do have the similar weapons...and they are thieves too.

I too was thinking "Resource Raiders" would have been cool.
I also think that the guy who first disses Superman and Alexis cuts down should have been Lester.

Sklarian raiders would also have been an option. A whole bunch of new girlfriends for Alexis.
Oh, Quis-- that Lester reference would have SO been perfect.

Also, Brainy losing an arm and replacing it with a new robotic arm, so subversive!

Lightning Lad carrying an armless Brainy was a fun tweak of the past. Still, it bothered me that they made such a dramatic moment of it when it really wasn't much of a problem at all. And Phantom Girl's line about understanding why Superman turned off his com let Superman off the hook too easily for neglecting his duty. Brainy's man-crush does bring a fun dynamic though.
The Scavengers were a little too Borg-like for me.
And there was more interlac! I love how only the interlac-literate got the reveal of her last name (they didn't actually mention it did they?)

Not that I remember and the Interlac usage is really making this show shine IMHO. It seems like such a no-brainer yet the comics never get it right.

I loved it!
I was a bit disappointed in the Lester wannabe but other than that it was fantastic!
And I loved Brainy being all jealous over Alexis getting all of Superman's attention!

I found the episode a bit predictable. From the point where Alexis invited Superman out to a party, it was clear where they were going with the story, and, unfortunately, it offered few plot surprises. (Though I didn't mind it when Superman was sent on a red herring. That time-honored tradition harkens back to several ADVENTURE tales.)
I picked up on the Alexis name immediately, though they did do a good job of recasting her as as Lester Spiffany. It wasn't obvious that she was a Luthor until her hair fell out.
I did enjoy the character development -- even Superman as a teenager who is caught between wanting to please a girl and doing his duty. I like the fact that he makes mistakes.
Brainy's apparent hero worship of Superman was an interesting twist on the character. I can't imagine the comic book Brainiac 5, in any incarnation, looking up to Superman that way. I have mixed feelings about the change. It makes sense to have at least one Legionnaire remember that they have a living legend in their midst, but, at the same time, it's another reminder that this Brainy is virtually a completely new character. I'm still trying to decide whether that's more good than bad.
Yes, it appears that Saturn Girl can create illusions -- which means it's probably unlikely that we'll see the Princess anytime soon (no need for two illusion casters). In the context of battle, it makes sense, though, and gives Imra something more dramatic to do.
Nice to see more of Phantom Girl. I like her ghost-like eyes.
Timber Wolf on Rimbor --a nod to the Abnett-Lanning era?

I'm still trying to decide whether that's more good than bad. Maybe I'm the only one, but I am really liking the cartoon Brainy. Given what we know about his comic book origins, this makes me really curious to see another Coluian to see if his physical abilities are normal for his race or not ... I keep wondering if in the toon universe the Computer Tyrants either maintained their position or weren't so bad after all. Is this Brainy a cyborg or an android/robot? Is he a LITERAL descendant of the original Brainiac this time? Inquiring minds want to know!! Brainy's man-crush on Superman reminds me of his old infatuation with Supergirl. I don't know if that's intentional or not, but it does, so it seems oddly appropriate. But given his reactions this episode, does anyone else think that their retrieval of Teen Superman as opposed to mature Superman is something that Brainy planned all along?

well if the scavengers were human or at least have human brains then it wouldn't be beyond Saturn girls ability to cast a mental illusion of her in their heads.

Absolutely. In the first episode, he repeatedly said things like, "Trust me," and, "I know what I'm doing," when challenged about his choice. I think he said it once or twice last episode, too. This Brainy has an agenda. Maybe something happened, and the rest of the team doesn't know the Brainiac connection. They can't be too worried about not revealing his future to him since one of the first places they took him was the Superman museum. Maybe Brainy is just trying to lay a more positive groundwork for Clark's subconscious while he can, knowing they'll pretty much have to mindwipe him when he returns anyway, just like in the old days. Or maybe it's just a serious case of hero worship/legacy guilt.
