Harmonia's surname "Li" is a Chinese surname, and her Monitor Board symbol is the Chinese character for "harmony". Any future writer already has a lot of foundation to tweak her into being more in line with Chinese mythology. (also, her losing her air powers would help keep the door open for Nightwind to join )

Agree on all. Of the new ones I actually liked her the most. They could have done a lot of mixing ancient myth and traditions with 31st century tech and values. I guess I just think she had the most potential over Glorith, Chemical Kid, Dragonwing, or Comet Queen (who I hated).

While I was annoyed that her backstory wasn't delved into, and how she became a Legionnaire despite not really doing much when Titan got destroyed, I did like her powers and I was OK with what little we saw of her personality. She was definitely more powerful and useful than Dragonwing and Comet Queen IMO, and a lot more mature than Glorith or Chemical Kid.

Before Harmonia (and Glorith, and Chemical Kid, and Dragonwing) debuted, I was clamoring for some more ethnic diversity, and bammo, other than Comet Queen, they *all* were ethnically diverse. (And Comet Queen's parents, shown in flashback, were members of different *species,* which makes her more 'biracial' than we usually mean when we use that term!) If she hadn't been introduced the way she was (and controlled the five Chinese elements), I think I might have loved her. And yet, she was introduced in the same issue where we see Brainiac Five walking slowly through crowds of dying Titanians, protected by his force field from the chaos around him, ruminating about how inconvenient it would be for him if the *technology* he's going to rescue is lost. Harmonia is *hardly* the only person in that Titansfall scenario to come out looking bad, and she really isn't responsible for what happened, and even warned those who initiated the experiment that it seemed like a bad idea. (Should she have physically stopped them? If she *knew* exactly how bad it was going to be, sure, but I'm not sure she knew exactly what would happen, only having an idea that it seemed unwise...) And then there's Imra, who rescued some people, but also flew up to a couple about to be crushed by a falling pillar and put her hands on her forehead like she was using telepathy. Why? Who knows. Perhaps she thought she had telekinesis, and was trying to stop the pillar. Perhaps she was psychically tranquilizing them so that when they got squished, they wouldn't feel any pain or fear. Perhaps she telepathically recorded their memories for download into later bodies. Perhaps she ate their souls.Who knows. It was a pretty bad issue, and Harmonia's presentation is the least of my problems with it. Perhaps that sums up my opinion of Harmonia right there. I'm less concerned with her entire character than I am with the color of Dream Girl's hair. Did Comet Queen ever officially get cleared of traitor-ness by dint of being mind-jobbed by Saturn Queen, or is that just something we fanwanked here? I don't even remember if that ever got resolved before the title ended... And I'm still waiting for there to be a 'ghost in the clubhouse' that turns out to be the stuck-in-vapor form of Variable Lad, who turned himself into gas in the very same issue he was 'killed' by being turned into gas. He seems about as likely to really be dead from that as Plastic Man would be to die from being stretched on a rack.

Harmonia Li seems to be a cold fish. I was hoping she'd be the new Rond Vidar - time researcher, pals with Brainy, etc. She's an ancient immortal; how will she fit in with teens and young adults?
I presume "cold fish" is a new term of admiration! And I am far more than that pretender Rond Vidar!!!! I may be over 1000 but I look 16 damn it!
If she hadn't been introduced the way she was (and controlled the five Chinese elements), I think I might have loved her.
There is still time young one ... Comet Queen will send the others home in a trash bag. There is no time left for this one however. bah! I will remember those loyal to me Brainiac Invisible, WangLung and Thothkins!!! <prom queen wave>

Titanic pain? Try Titanol! In under two minutes you will be able back to your old self*, saving refugees!** *Side effects may include creative team applying the wrong powers to someone who's been using them since 1958. Editorial slackness is normal and is not a side effect. ** Those that aren't crushed under rubble, anyway. Did Comet Queen ever officially get cleared of traitor-ness by dint of being mind-jobbed by Saturn Queen I thought it was a dangling plot thread at the end. I will remember those loyal to me Brainiac Invisible, WangLung and Thothkins!!! <prom queen wave>
Harmonia Li is great, isn't she? I think it's a positive move to bring in a heavier hitter with new applicants every now and again. It's possibly also why I liked Laurel Gand, Sensor Girl and Kent Shakespeare even more. All are mature, professionals with experience as well as power to bring to the monitor board. It offsets bringing in too many raw rookies all at once too.

And I'm still waiting for there to be a 'ghost in the clubhouse' that turns out to be the stuck-in-vapor form of Variable Lad Yes, I rather liked the concept of his semi-randomly acquiring powers by assuming various "monstrous" forms. Reminds me of "Dial H". Of course, his half-Jaquaan, half-human default appearance is also a "monstrous" form...
Next time we have a DC/Marvel crossover, I want it to take place in the Hostessverse

Of course, his half-Jaquaan, half-human default appearance is also a "monstrous" form... Ooh, that would be a plot twist. Gym'll seems to think that VL is his cousin Oaa, but what if 'the accident' led to the death (or near-death?) of the real Oaa, and the being that has taken on his identity has either replaced him (like the Phoenix entity replaced Jean Grey for a while, while she healed at the bottom of the bay) or merged with him to survive as a composite entity (like Halo and her Aurakle possessor?). That could be an intriguing little mystery to backfill in on Variable Lad! Who is Variable Lad? (Hint. Donna Troy. Everybody is Donna Troy, in the end...)

Yeah, Variable Lad's ability to evolve new powers sure would be rather useless if they couldn't save him from "certain" death

IIRC it was only established that she wasn't under control of her actions. She was last seen being examined in the clubhouse, but that was before it all went boom and Star Boy was crushed in the rubble, so her fate is unknown but dim...

Comet Queen was captured by the Dominators at the same time as the others. Brainy asked that she wasn't brought round.
So, either Brainy has been keeping her in a coma all this time so she won;t attack him, or we see a glimpse of her therapy and she's is conscious on other occasions. Just not trusted.
That wasn't her in one of the HQ healing tanks in #23 was it? I would have thought the head would be recognisable, but perhaps not.

It didn't look like her to me either. Still, no memorial or other overt evidence of death was shown so she could have just been conveniently off-screen (like Dragonwing).
