Maybe you should have also included Paul Levitz's new 75 Years Of DC Comics: The Art Of Modern Mythmaking. It's a 650 page behemoth! I spoke with Paul about it over on the INTERLAC THE LEGION ONLINE group in Facebook, and asked if the Legion had a chapter. He said that with 40,000 issues to cover in the history they don't have a chapter but do get several mentions. The book is set for a November 1, 2010 release BUT they are hoping to have advance copies available at the New York Comic Con in October and at the Taschen book store in Manhattan. He'll be doing signings at both.

Does anyone know or has seen a cover posted anywhere for this upcoming 75 Years Of DC special? It sounds kind of interesting. Having it signed by the main man Paul Levitz would be very cool indeed. Also, I would like more information about it. How is it different from the DC Encyclopedia for example?

about #7 - I am so sure that I have seen that cover somewhere as a homage....to an old Adventure Comics in 1960s??? I keep telling myself thinking my eyes may deceive me - my eyes are telling me that its Superboy and Triplicate Girl on the cover being surrounded by Dark Circle agents or Dominators?!?!? can anyone help me?

Originally posted by doublechinner: I like the Adventure cover. I always flash back to Superboy/LSH #201, my first comic, and I bought it because it had cool heroes lying dead on the cover. I normally don't like beanpole anorexic heroes either, but it sorta works on this cover, given the subject and the perspective. It adds to the pathos, like an El Greco painting. I think the Legion Yildiray cover is much less successful, mainly because the bad guys look generic and are in the foreground, relegating the Legion to the background. To see a better version of this cover, look at the Adventure cover from the Dark Circle's first appearance:
Regarding Brainy's boots: it's clear that they are ski-boots, but I doubt Brainy was skiing. I imagine he finds their insulated, non-conducting properties an asset in his hazardous lab. YES that s the one!!! sorry I did read all the pages....I am 1/2 sleepy - just woke up about 40 minutes ago. :embarrassed:

Hey thanks Lil'rhino, you're the best!
The cover looks pretty good. The price tag is a bit rich though. Hope the contents pay proper tribute to this landmark book of 75 years of history. I wonder what the Legion portion will be about, or rather how it will be laid out.

^ Those Holiday Specials are really hit and miss IMO. I bought one of DC's Halloween Specials for .50c once and that was .49c more than it was worth.
I swore to avoid them after that but if there is a Legion tale in this one it will be hard for me not to pick it up.

Does it bother anyone else that more than half of the people on the cover of Titans aren't even inmates at Arkham anymore?
