Great to see Tyroc get a cover! His costume's still not doing it for me though. Especially those weird green disc things. Or any of the rest of it actually. Please give him something less generic Yildiray.

The rest of the cover looks nice though. This Durlan revenge plot storyline isn't filling me with excitement so far but I'm definitely open to being pleasantly surprised. And I like a good 'heroes with their backs against the wall' shot.

The Adventure cover looks OK. Hard to get excited about that title at the moment after the last few disappointing issues. I've never read the story that Lightning Lad originally died in so this should at least give me some insight into how that happened.

Adventure Comics - LSH stories have been...meh, The Atom backups are great though. The cover is aweful. I would have no idea who was behind Superboy, if not for the tiny part of the emblem showing...

LSH - TWolf front and center. Awesome. The sleeveless look works for him and Jo since they are basically the brawlers of the team.

Lightning Lad's death shouldn't be billed as a death issue for modern readers when everyone knows very well he comes back to life. I really hope Paul isn't saying that he's been dead all along and we're back to Garth being Proty.

Ha! It should probably read Final story of the first story arc.

But that's probably too many words.

Well, it looks like they're gonna shoot guns.
THATS certainly a stretch of the imagination on the creator's part.

Reminds me of 'The Siege' movie that was just on yesterday.

I am reminded of R.E.B.E.L.S #18, where Amon is clearly frightened of the little girl Durlan because he knows she's capable of killing everybody in the room without requiring a weapon.

I'm a bit disappointed with the artwork on the cover of #7 I have to say. Oh well, I'm sure Cinar will come through with his inside pages as usual.
The cover of Adventure #520 is worse though. You almost want to shove food down their throats ... just so they can put some meat on their bones!

There is nothing about that Adventure cover that would make me want to pick it up.
They look positively anorexic.

I've gotten used to that artist drawing the women without internal organs, but even Superclark looks like he's been vacuumed out on that cover. smile

While that aspect of the art is really bad, so is not being able to distinguish between Kal, Jo and Rokk...if not for the uniforms.

True. The Legion does seem to have an above average number of dark-brown / black haired men, and some artists seem to use hair and costume as their only points of differentiation between different characters, just recycling the same scowly square-jawed (or almond-shaped, for the ladies) face over and over.

And just to think that the cover is probably the best artwork in that issue, considering that the art inside will come from Kevin Sharpe...

Legion has unfortunately become a generic super-hero book if we simply consider the choice of covers. How I long for that winning streak of covers from v3 #50 up to v4 #43...

Yeah.
And before that, the terror of the telepath just before she killed him with her arm as a sword blade (like the Wildstorm character).

Perhaps only certain tribes of Durlans can shapeshift into inanimate weapons and have the killing ability of those razor sharp edges.

Maybe the guns the SP Durlans have are really just extensions of themselves and just for show.

Or maybe not.

Maybe the guns are extensions of themselves and the bullets are wee little Durlans hiding inside with big teeth! laugh

Or tricked-out Imskians.

I actually now kind of want to see a scene where tiny Durlans or Imskians are shot out of guns...
