Reading the comments (and links) and the Omnicom, it seems to me that everyone involved (McDonalds, WB/DC, and the fans/consumers) would have been better off if they had produced another set of 8 "girl toys" action figures that included (so as to not get too obscure) -
Saturn Girl Phantom Girl Triplicate Girl Triplicate Girl (White) Triplicate Girl (Purple) Triplicate Girl (Orange) Emerald Empress Alexis Luthor
(Of course I'd have missed not having Persuader even more if they went this route...but still!)

I went on EBay last night and got a full set for "buy it now" of $21 US, shipping included. That saves me the aggravation of going to McDonald's, and the temptation to eat McDonald's food. When they arrive, they will become the property of the 5-year old, like everything in the house. I can't believe I will have a Lightning Lad, a Validus and a Mano in da' house!
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

I had Mom stop by the McD's along the way over. They were only selling the toys with the Happy Meals. Mom took one for the team, and got a meal too. Had to insist on two different toys; They definitely didn't have their A-team working this evening. I ended up with LL and Mano, and we both got generic bags. There's another store on Main Street Willi, I'll have Mom or one of my sisters check there. And if I get a good enough deal, I may still get the set off the 'Bay. The extra's will go to Alex.

I'm halfway there now (thanks to my lovely wife). I got Lightning Lad and Mano at lunchtime today, and my wife had to run some errands tonight. When she returned home, she presented me with the Superman & Timber Wolf figures she got at a different McDonalds! I love my wife!!!
I see by the bags they are #1-4 of the 8 if you check the bags' numbering. Makes me wonder if the stores are trying to only release them in order...you know, open box #1 (with Superman & Timber Wolf in it until the supply is gone, then open box #2 with LL & Mano. Maybe I'm reading too much into it.
I've also got to say, I love how the Happy Meal Box has the Interlac on it!!!

I still haven't done anything with mine. I'm still thinking about it. Maybe I'll get a Happy Meal later today, open the toy and see how fun it is, then decide if I *must* get more to open or not...

I finally have all of the toys... FINALLY! They got so fed up with me asking to trade toys that since they got a new box in today, they let me exchange all my extras for missing ones... They only had like two braniacs, so I had to dig and dig, but now I have a full set =DD

Added Brainiac and Tharok today, so I only have 2 to go! (Chuck & Validus). I am really enjoying the figures, but their little boxes blow me away! They are so blastedly cool!

Sometimes they actually think these things through. The only thing keeping this set from being the ultimate Legion toy collectible is the absence of the girls.

Couldn't agree with you more on that fact LL!!! What were TPTB thinking leaving the girls out? Does this mean we have to wait for the "Girl Toy-female Legionnaires...Boy Toy-Build a Bear dude" McHappy Meals??? No matter how complete the set of 8 is, it will seem only "half full". And only 3/5ths of the Fatal Five? Whatzupwidat?

Yay! I got my eBay auction figures today! The look great, though why did they paint Lightning Lad black? I thought the photos that were posted were just poorly toned.
Still, never thought I'd see a Legion Happy Meal, so whoopee!

I finally got Bouncing Boy, so now I only need Validus to complete the set! But I also have to admit I'm a bit worried... see for all the years McDonald's has done Happy Meals, I have never wound up with a complete set of any of their toys??? And I have 4 young children, so there has been ample opportunity to complete even some of their "lamer" sets of toys. I must break this cycle now. The Legion "AR" fan that I am cannot allow me to fail in finding them all!!! (You know, I never realized how many McD's there are within 10 miles of my house. I've got them all on speed dial now, calling and asking which characters they have on hand. They've got to think I'm some kind of pest...or a freak.)

I picked up a Tharok last night after forgetting to try the McD's in Chicago while I was on my vacation.

Over the weekend, we got 3 more Brainy's. I tried to give one to my 5 year old neice, but she didn't seem very interested. She likes Disney Princesses. Maybe I should have asked for the "girl toy?"
BTW, my daughter loves "boy" toys, and has lots of action figures! She's cool.

Stopped by and picked up a Brainy after work. Which leaves me needing a Chuck, Garth, Mano, and Validus.

I'm missing Mano, Timber Wolf & Validus. Hope to find them soon. What I would like to do if I end up with a bunch of the other characters is try to set up a swap with the Legion World gang. I been trying to get 2 at a time (some of the McDs have a variety on hand)I also go in blind hoping to be surprsed by what I get. I can only assume that I will end up with more than one of a character. Now unless you really like McDonalds hamburgers I would love to trade with gang, heck if I end up with a bunch of one character I'd give them away. Something else else to think about like a cross country pool for the toyes. Anyway just an idea.
