I thought the artwork of Cosmic Boy on the cover art for October's first issue of the Secret Origins book looked a little off -- mostly because of the purple -- but I shrugged it away. But fresh up today is a preview of the second (November) cover , and I have to admit ... is it just me, or do those look a heck of a lot more like the post-ZH versions than what would be expected of the "retroboot" as seen recently-ish in Adventure? I am feeling more than a little puzzled.

hmm notice both SG and LL's costumes too they changed a little too...and flight rings already? meaning that B5 is already a Legionnaire? cool cover, by the way.

Is the scene meant to depict the early Legion? If so, and assuming Saturn Girl's meant to be part of the same scene, the art sure doesn't make her look like a teenager.

The Legion had flight rings in the recent Adventure early years stories. We were never really in the original boot, Levitz made many changes, especially in the Silver Age sciences. And we have to remember that this new #1boot isn't the same as even the retroboot. There aren't supposed to be quite as many changes as most of the DCU characters will have, but there WILL be changes. The 5 year age difference alone, should bring quite a few, with no other factors involved. Chris Batista's style on the covers hasn't changed drastically since he was on the reboot Legion. I like his work a lot!

Uhh... the covers are by Tom Feister (who also - with Tony Harris - did most of the covers in Batista's post-ZH run)

Still, with DC themselves pushing for us to think of the latest reboots as 'The Originals' but still wanting to be able to introduce drastic changes without reasonable explainations as to why, it can get confusing.
