Originally the orange form was the Durlans' true form.
I actually called Levitz out on this one. At one point (I believe during Earthwar) Cham is shot with a gun that keeps him from transforming and changes him back to his true form. Which was the orange form. Levitz wrote this earlier story and when he was depicting Durlans as having the tentacled true form I wrote a letter pointing out the earlier story. The letter got published. He basically gave it a handwave.

Well, whatever the continuity implications, I thought the final page of Adventure #11 was wonderful. I realize that a lot of people have deep affection for the reboot Legion, but seeing the '60s era team welcoming Mon-el back from the Phantom Zone, with Superboy in the lead, was really heartwarming.

This issue gets a thumbs down from me. I loved the concept of Valor as the seeder of worlds when it was first introduced all those years ago. It's not a story that needed to be retold. This issue adds nothing to the Legion mythos. It was also a disappointing conclusion for Robinson's Mon-El in the 21st century story line that dragged out over the last year or so. The cameos and guest stars all felt gratuitous and seemed to clutter up the issue. I didn't care for the artwork either.

So did I. Talk about coming full circle! I enjoyed having Mon around and so visible throughout this story. Only thing I didn't like was giving him a "Kent" name. Don't know why they couldn't have just used "Bob Cobb" and said it was Ma Kent's nephew from England instead, which would have built on existing continuity instead of changing it. Did anyone else catch the line "Will I even remember any of this? just before Mon re-enters the PZone? Talk about an out for never having to bring up these activities once he's back in the future. All in all, I've been lovin' having my favorite hero of all time so visible in the DCU. It's about time he got the star treatment.

Ohhh! Almost forgot! I almost fell off my chair when I saw that Phlon was one of the worlds being restored. Maybe, just maybe there's hope for a return by Condo after all.

I look forward to some intelligent and inventive Legion stories. Let's hope this crap of a storyline gets retconned away soon.

I loved the ending. I wasn't sure how this whole Mon-El story was going to end up but it ended up great and on a strong note in my book.

It's interesting because originally in the 5YG there were intended to be 3 survivors from the 20th century...one was Valor, one was Jonn Jonzz...and the other? They ended up not going that direction with her...but this development seemed similar to those original plans.

I forget how they ended up explaining Phase but it wasn't that she was Tinya sent back in time IIRC. That was only true during the 5YG and before Zero Hour. Interstingly enough though...there was a Durlan Green Lantern whose last name was Daggle in the early issues of the current Green Lantern series.... He's a member of the Green Lantern "Corpse", a secret ops division of the Green Lanterns.

So...why did Brainiac 5 go back the the future without the Legionnaires? Did they get back?
Robinson's books are so disjointed and purposeless that it's nauseating.

Two highlights for me:
1) The last page.
2) Legionnaire narration that isn't by Brainiac 5! Woohoo, I knew it could be done!

The preview suggests that they actually come from "New Durla", which isn't the world destroyed by the war. At this point, I don't even care what the background is, so long as they establish one and we get to have it around for twelve issues or so before the next big yawner of a "worlds' changing company-wide crossover," or whatever. I dream too much, right?

There were three Daxamite survivors. The first was Valor, the second Dev-Em, and the third was Laurel before they changed her backstory.

I thought PC Dev-Em was from Titan. Geez the post crisis continuity is insanely confusing.
And it's not like I didn't read the comics. I read them all...every single one of them, I think that is problem.
But yeah...Laurel was supposed to be the third and they changed it.
So EDE...what was your take on the girl in this issue?

Which Laurel?
And I say that Bedard can take care of dotREBELS. Poof! He changed Starhaven's history, just like that! Poof! He can take care of the Phase issue, if he addresses it at all. Poof! He can address the Durlan issue or just let it float off into mostly forgotten history.
I don't like it but, . . .
A singin' and a dancin' along the way.

The Titan thing was only mentioned in WWitLSH. When Dev showed up 5YL, he was "the Mad Daxamite". And, er... I think he was still supposed to have come from the 20th century? I actually don't remember the details of that.
(One can say the post-Crisis Dev was Titanian, and the Glorithverse Dev was a Daxamite, if one want to make that distinction).

I don't like it but, . . . Honestly, the Phase issue is pretty easily solved...one can just use the Reboot era origin of Phase and say it involved crossing over from the reboot world to the current Earth. Ditto with the Durlan. Oh and the Laurel was the 5YG Laurel.

And now that we are discussing it...what the hell is Dev-Em in this current continuity? I know he was some cult leader in 52. He was also some entity in the Phantom Zone.

I don't like Titan being a seeded world. I thought it was pretty clear before it was an Earth colony where telepathy evolved (which I admittedly thought would make an interesting tie-in with modern day Saturnians). But to have them be from a completely different race and transplanted there, in our time no less, seems like a bad idea. Sure the other seeded worlds could grow and expand over 1,00 years, but Titans in our solar system. People are just going to be too tempted to throw it in their Superman/GL/whatever stories and potentially muck it all up.

The whole concept that Earth's colony worlds were "seeded" by stolen cities in the 20th/21st century is beyond lame and not well thought out.
A century's worth of Science Fiction writers are rolling in their graves. It's a sad commentary on the DC Universe and the talent (or lack thereof) of their creators.

Now that this drawn-out and incredibly lackluster storyline is over, I'm looking forward to seeing the Legionnaires (hopefully) actually USE their powers in their own book.

Honestly, I don't see the hate for this book. So the post-Infinite Crisis/Lo3W Lar Gand is a combo version of pre-Crisis Mon-El and Valor. It's Brainiac shrunken cities instead of Dominator human experiment subjects, but it's still an OK history for Mon to have.
The Durla issue is a non-issue as far as I can figure. The six-minute war was ancient history in Durla, if various Durlan tribes went nomadic afterward, and that's the one Cham comes from, is that such an extreme retcon? Heck, maybe the "New Durlans" moved back to Durla at some point in the intervening thousand years, so Reep is genuinely "Durlan" rather than "New Durlan." What's the big deal here?
And I, for one, thought the overall New Krypton/Brainiac/Mon-El/secret Legionnaires thing tied together nicely. It was certainly cool seeing Tenzil go into battle against a bunch of robots by eating them.

The Dominator human experiments was just as lame but slightly less so.
At least then, they were (meta-)humans from Earth. They could have set the stage for later exploration.
Irregardless, the story didn't need to be told once let alone retold in such a poor fashion.

Well, the whole thing turned out to be a bit of a mixed bag. It's too bad the LSH characters had to take such a back seat. Their roles and lives in the 21st century weren't fleshed out *nearly* enough for me.
Tellus, and to a lesser extent Quislet and Jeckie were the only ones that I felt were actually 'characters' rather than bit parts/cameos.
Surely Element Lad would've had a thought or two about what he'd think/feel/do if a New Trom popped into existence and was threatened. This would have been a great spot for the Superman-Element Lad dialogue I've always wanted to read (even if it was in thought-bubbles!)
Will the bottled cities matter to Levitz's 31st century Legion? No way to know-- I suppose there *could* be some interesting stuff to come from it. Hopefully, we're about to be reintroduced to *many* planets and societies around the new/old LSH-- unless it's going to be all 'invade dreary old Earth' again.
I'm firmly for moving the team away from Metropolis (and Earth), but I doubt that'll happen.
Anyway, maybe as we meet 'again for the first time' Titan and Durla, etc.- maybe we'll see something about the distant past of the bottled cities.
Will Durlans revere *all* the Legionnaires present, or just Mon-el? Or the Lanothians (sp?) aka Titanians? Will Jemm's Saturnians still be around? As a separate society or a completely interwoven one with the telepaths of Titan?
We've been told that Tyroc will pop up soon.
That just leaves Dream Girl and that panel from the increasingly irritating 'coming soon' pages with which DC is tormenting its fans.
