Wonderful art! And can't wait to see the Legionnaires in action. I can think of few occasions when Garth has been that... cool!

Who's the girl in darker purple, behind Garth and then standing next to Rokk? Is that supposed to be Triplicate Girl?

Who thinks that when early Legionnaires show up in SUPERMAN of JUSTICE LEAGUE or BATMAN or FLASH flashbacks, they'll be sporting these new costumes?

Originally posted by NoLongerLegion: I have to say that this bothers me: Originally stated by Kwanza Johnson: [b]Okay, one more sneaky bit of info; since each of the Legionnaires come from a planet where all their species have powers like theirs, what exactly makes them so special? It should say 'since most of the Legionnaires come from a planet where all their species have powers like theirs, what exactly makes them so special?'. Garth's people do not have his power, it is not inheirited. He only shares it with his brother and sister that got their (original) power through the same accident that he did. A mistaken statement like this on such a simple subject matter gives me the impression that he really knows little to nothing about the Legion and just likes to pretend he does. That does nothing to make me want to buy the book. The art in the previews was good though. And oddly enough I like the somewhat 'armored' look of Phantom Girl and Brainy's outfits.[/b]Have to agree - it's a very major error. While I wouldn't say it ruins the whole book for me, it does make me think twice.

Guys, It's the editor not the writer, and its a fluff promo piece on the Source. I'm sure Levitz, of all people, knows where the characters came from.

Oh, I know it's not Levitz. And it's not in the book itself, I'm sure. It is a glaring error though, and I can see why some would be bothered by it. The book is holding up very well, though ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default_dark/smile.gif)

Oh come on? I think some are being a bit nit picky here and falling into the "Legion fans are crazy category" ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default_dark/smile.gif) Many of the Legionaires DO come from planets where they all have the same abilities...especially the first few. Great first issue btw

Oh definitely ... I think that's going to be the standard going forward. Not that I'm complaining mind you. I like the new costumes!

Phantom Girl's new duds are cool, and I like the addition of pads to Brainy's jumpsuit, but, gosh, I think the kneepads on *everyone* are a bit overused. They look particularly out of place on Lightning Lad and Cosmic Boy's costumes (and make Saturn Girl's look too 'busy').

Great first issue btwWell, I don't think pointing out an error is being "a crazy Legion fan" ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default_dark/smile.gif) Some people are more bothered by these things than others are. I couldn't help noticing it either, especially since Garth is a founder. I certainly don't see anyone calling for a boycott of the book or anything drastic like that. ![smile smile](/forums/images/graemlins/default_dark/smile.gif)

Yeah, it seems to me that expecting the editor of the book to be a little more careful in his word choice regarding what is a pretty basic fact about the Legion is hardly unreasonable.
In and of itself it's not a big deal, and of course it's a promo piece and not in the book itself, but it's somewhat disappointing, especially given the trend of sloppy editing that has plagued recent versions of the Legion.

Okay, this looks pretty cool. I may have to go back and buy #1 and this one now.
Would love to see a few stories featuring the first FOUR Legionnaires instead of the usual first three yet again.

Well it makes sense, logically, for the attempt to be foiled the way it was, it would have been better to have Lu actually, you know, do something on her first time out.

Especially since they'd just made a big deal about her joining the team.
Maybe she'll get a chance to shine in the next pages after the preview, though.

Bit of a let down after a great first issue. Very little progression in the story. There's nothing we didn't know after the first issue, other than some background on Tinya.

I've been agreeing with a lot of your recent posts, Dave. Not this time. I thought issue #2 was an improvement over #1 (which I liked).
Imra looks great on the cover. It's another one of those covers that looks so much better on real live paper than in the online previews. Those piercing blue eyes. Nice.
Speaking of Imra, her interactions with Brande were written really well. Levitz appears to be delivering on his concept of adding to the teams origin without too many contradictions. Instead of a single assassination attempt we have multiple attempts, which adds to the mystery.
Nice reference to the Quntile Crystal for us old timers.
I really enjoyed the interactions between Brainiac 5 and Phantom Girl. Brainy is so much nicer than he has been presented in recent years - more in line with his original characterization.
Of the four Legion titles being published currently, this one is emerging as my favorite.
Beauty's where you find it. Not just where you bump and grind it.

Not much happening considering it is going to be a limited issue series. Even seeing my gal Lu more prominent didn't goose up the proceedings for me. Once again, the artist doesn't seem like he wants to depict her in mid-split. I wonder why? Of the three current iterations of the Legion I'm surprised that Legion Lost is my favourite and considering it features some of my least favourite heroes... that's saying something.

Originally posted by NoLongerLegion: Oh, and I noticed another departure from the previous version of the Legion ... 'Brainiac' is an 'honorable title descended from the great revolt' now instead of a designation that Querl is trying to live down due to Brainiacs 1, 2 and 3. I imagine that doesn't bode well for fans of L.E.G.I.O.N. or R.E.B.E.L.S. Paul introduced that concept years ago when Brainy returned to Colu prior to the Magic Wars. Personally, the highlight of the issue was the welcome return of Marla Latham from obscurity. Still wondering if Doyle (Roderick or cousin Theg) will play a role in this version.
