I'm just amazed that no one has commented on the fact that whoever scanned in that cover, or drawing, folded it over to hide some of the details.
Look at the lettering, instead of the character drawings...
What is being hidden? and why?

That's my main problem with the teenagers thing. IMO the Legion is the JLA of the 31st century. Heck, they can be the JLA, JSA, and the Teen Titans since they are a Legion! I hate forcing them into just teenagers. My Legion was the brightest and the best of the 31st century...like the JLA. Waid thinks the teenager thing is a primary element...I don't. Also Supergirl(Kara) was never a Teen Titan that I know of. But she was in the JLA (as well as Legion).

I agree that the teen element isn't so crucial to what my notion of the Legion is. Having a wider range of ages would've been a cool way to reinvent the Legion but I do like that Waid changed things up, reimagining the Legion as a social movement and that there are thousands of Legionnaires now.
As for teens in the JLA, I'm not against the concept, as long as the JLA remains the top tier level of heroes on the planet - I've never been into the JLA lineups that were filled with unproven talent. (bwa-ha-ha JL aside cuz it was just funny, but it didn't really seem like the *JLA* until they added some power).

What is being hidden? and why? I'm the one who scanned it in. Wizard magazine is bound in a way that makes it hard to spread out and the only things that are missing are: Originally posted by Nightcrawler: Also, the only two missing in the fold (Sorry!) is Wonder Woman and Booster Gold.

I think you're right Drake, that could well be the owl. Only other thing I can come up with is another Hawk's headgear...but both Hawkgirl and Hawkman are depicted already.

I think it's supposed to be the Demon. Scott, how did you get the full image without ripping the pages out of the book? (Or did you? )

If you look close enough you can see where I can never get the colors to match exactly when piecing two images together. For some reason one is always darker color even when I don't change the settings.

The computer coloring is modeled enough to be misleading (one of the things I hate about computer coloring in the wrong hands is when they make everything look shiny), but I don't see it as metallic flash - it's not as shiny as how the colorist rendered the other metallic objects. (why am I starting to feel like we're examining the Zapruder film?) If there's a version out there without the title over it, we might have an answer. I also don't see how it could be Orion's helmet -- his helmet's silver (unless he has another one).

I'll be darned...it IS an owl. Good eye. The illusion of Ralph wearing fishnets is shattered by the full image of Zatanna...and it was SUCH a giggle... The "bigger" image answers most of the previous questions however in typical comic book mystery fashion I see there's a NEW mysterious figure in the pic. SO ...on to round TWO!

Well, I am back again since I made the original post about this topic, and I have been entertained by the very good detective work by you guys here. But I have a new one to add. Go to the link posted just a few posts before this one by I think DrakeB3004, and page down the webpage below the colored version of the JLA pic, and you will see the uncolored inked version, and guess what... Karate Kid is not in the pic...! Curiouser and curiouser... Have fun with this one guys...! --Tim P.S. Barry, if you are tuning in to these messages, feel free to post any teaser comments...

I wouldn't think much of that character, but if it weren't for the fact that "the Atom" (or whoever) is also draped in shadow... i duuno. There's so little to go on with that figure though, it's almost pointless (but when has that ever stopped us?) Also, good catch Cotton King - interesting tidbit (he also make John Stewart bald originally...)

So the new figure in the upper left corner is either someone in shadow, or Wildcat (since his uniform is that coloring...).
