I really hope this is deliberate misdirection, because otherwise I'd have to assume that they're putting out spoilers for #2 when nobody's even had a chance to read #1. And that would be... just amazingly stupid.

I'm not pleased.

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">Gates </span></span>

is one of my favourites, and the prospect of him not making it out of the first issue is disappointing.

Beyond disappointing for me. That character's one I love, too. And the other presumed casualty had heaps of untapped potential.

I hope cleome's right and this is deliberate misdirection- or something. I grasped at that straw when I read the solicit, too.

Hmmm. Killing off 2/7 of the cast by issue 2 of a series that DC wants to make permanent (supposedly) seems pretty weird. I think they'll be back. After all, time travel is involved.

Is this silly because ... <span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">He's one of the few 'rescued' from the previous reboot timeline ... why bother if he's gonna get iced after appearing in virtually 0 stories. </span></span>

Are they deliberately trying to mess with readers ..

?

I was talking with a friend last night that I think comics have gone the way of other media, where they think, controversy is good!

I think it's a red herring....one of those characters in particular is unique in a lot of ways in the Legion's world and I think Fabian Nicieza is a good enough writer to recognise that.

Something else else I noticed from the OTHER cover though.... <span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">Mon-El isn't wearing his Green Lantern costume!</span></span>

Good grief. <span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text"> Can anyone write a story anymore without killing off characters? is it just me or do super hero deaths occur more often in the LSH?

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">Much like the 3boot Dream Girl, Tyroc's been written better than he ever has (granted bar was set pretty low). I wonder how they're going to kill Gates accidental exposure to DDT? Maybe they could introduce an Earth (whatever they're calling the current DC Universe) version of Gates.</span></span>

What if it gets worse? What if Fabian brings back <span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">the new Wanderers/reboot Legion</span></span> to mourn <span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">Gates</span></span>, and he kills them off, too? <span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text"> gasp </span></span>

I wish the bad guy facing him was a little more visually interesting.
