I actually thought the preview looked great but I thought #11 was scheduled with the Dream Girl carrying Star Boy cover?

I think I saw somewhere that Sun E vs T Wolf is the variant cover.
Does anyone get the feeling that Colossal Boy has become more of a liability than a help in this series. He can't hold up the spaceship at the Titan refugee camp, he lets Brande's assistant get assassinated, and now two-bit villains put the frost on him. Maybe HE needs to get an acting job or re-re-certify through the academy. When's he actually gonna slug somebody???

He was taken out pretty easy in that scene. Oh no an ice mask!!! He could have just shrank a bit and it would have fallen off...well you know if Paul had written it that way

I really like the art in this preview actually!
I also think Tinya is suffering from the same syndrome as Gim...she hasn't actually really *done* anything since this title started again...

I agree on the art AND Tinya & Gim. At least she just doesn't do much, HE's a disaster. I wonder what's going on?
Loving Tyroc, except he needs eyebrows.
I'm glad that the Legion is right on SQ's tail, and no doubt the line about Mekt is the bridge to the next page. I'm interested to see what he's going to do, follow SQ or do something about that twin.
It'd be interesting if instead of a brother the twin turned out to be a sister. Mixed twins are really different than identicals, biologically, so maybe it runs in families.
Fume is a funny name, but not as funny as the power might have suggested so I guess I should be happy with it. I wonder if her powers do gender based differences?
I'm excited about the new issue.

Perhaps, since he's one of the least popular Legionnaires, Paul's planning on writing him out to make room for either more popular Legionnaires, or new recruits. Gim has pretty much spectacularly sucked at just about everything, so far. Hopefully, if this is the case, he just retires to hang out with Yera, and doesn't get killed... Quite a few of the 'old team' are faring poorly. Shady has gotten herself shot in every fight, and been hooked up with Sideburns McGruff, the crime-fighting racist, so it's not exactly roses for her either. I don't think Paul would deliberately make them look bad to pump up new characters, but it's certainly not unknown in the world of marketing to downplay last years model in the build up to the new model's unveiling...

Maybe Levitz is trying to show that some of the Legionnaires have weaknesses? When Colossal Boy grows, be becomes a pretty big target and villains can shoot him easier than a normal-sized Legionnaire. That's my guess anyway.
EDIT: I thought of another possibility. Maybe becoming a big target is one of his strengths because he draws fire off of the other Legionnaires.

Colossal Boy is one of my favorite Legionnaires (Tinya too!). His character impresses me as being important in the sense that he has always been one of the Legion's foot soldiers, getting down and dirty when it was needed, even if he got nicked up a bit (T-Wolf as well). He also makes all group shots better when giant and all in the background. I liked the way Gim was portrayed by Mr. Shooter in the last series much more than what I've seen so far lately.
Gim deserves better - something Positive. He really needs to put at least one LSV through three walls in the near future.

At least Gim hasn't been killed for the past couple of continuities! That was the trend for awhile!

I like his personality and presense in the retroboot, but by now, I should think, his abilities should be much better honed and true.
He DOES act like the cadets. Maybe he's off doing something secret or other and Yera is posing as him.
If she can do Vi and shrink, she can do Gim and grow, imo.

hmmm that would be an interesting plot twist. I do think that Paul has something planned for him since his parents have both shown up recently.

I hope its not just to either die or see his folks die. We dont need another death in the Legion. Although maybe Gim is going to get all tough and deadly in responce to his moms death?

Loved the new issue. Great scenes between Tinya and Ayla, Vi and Reep; that was cold of Vi, I wonder if the eye is having an effect on her?? And the dialogue between Dreamy & Brainiac 5 was just touching and really addressed the recent criticism of B5 and how he's being written and how upset Dreamy is concerning Star Boy/Man's condition. Great fight between Wolf and Sun Emperor.
I do think there is something strange going on concerning the covers for #11 & #12 ? The panel with Dreamy carrying Star Boy/Man is the exact pose from the cover for #12...but from a different artist. A swipe?
Whatever..it's great to be a Legion fan right now

It seems the writer's idea of characterization is to make Lightning Lass and Shrinking Violet shrill, angry, man haters. Great way to perpetuate inaccurate stereotypes. He really does seem stuck in some previous decade of the 20th century.(especially when you consider the "Valley Girl" Comet Queen) The Legion continues to be disjointed with too many subplots. Teamwork is really what makes the Legion work, so to focus on Timber Wolf fighting Sun Emperor solo really does miss the point of the Legion. I am looking for the urgency and cohesiveness that informed the Action series and Legion of Three Worlds.

This series is benefitting from the reduced page count. I liked the pacing and it seemed like a lot happened this issue. The art was decent enough. The scenes with Brainy and Dream Girl were exactly what I've been waiting for. And come on everyone, Nura was totally platinum the whole issue! We demanded it and we got it. Someone's been paying attention.

What was with all the lady bashing this issue? First Wildfire's comment to Tinya and Ayla and then Brainy's comment about Dawnstar. Overkill to have both in the same short issue.
Why would any of the legionnaires have voted for Brainy as leader when his attitude is so terrible?
Wouldn't Timber Wolf have to be invulnerable to withstand that flaming onslaught from Sun Emperor?
Despite all of that... I did enjoy the issue.

Really though, as long as Gim has had a personality, which means from the "first" LSV story on Adventure #371-2, he's been pretty much portrayed as a well-meaning, amiable doof.
